Valentines event

Yes thankfully. I’ve only had one cat feed task nothing else so far. No cow or pigs or chicken yet. Tasks have been either too low or around 200 mark.  They’ve also extended the time from original 5 days to 8 when in checked a couple days ago.  I still can’t fathom why they include ingots or tasks that take 12 hours or more each item. Ingots I can at least prep but not those like lollipops or jams. Jams reward points are auto delete for me.

The only way I'd bother past the end of the task line would be for prizes I actually wanted or needed like expansion permits 😅

I’m over this event‼️🤦‍♀️ I hope to finish tomorrow. Totally messed up the way I’m use to playing. All the pop ups drove me crazy.

So I finished to the end in first place, or rather to get the love tunnel deco, I totalled 14580 points, so it didn’t stop at the 14500 as in previous events. Tasks still on the board, I won’t be doing anymore since there’s no more rewards to collect. No cool balloons to pop as it’s saying event has another 5 days to go. I’ve already been knocked out of the top spot even though I reached the 14500 first. So I guess the next few days are playing for the rubbish prizes on the leaderboard - I don’t need or can’t collect puzzle pieces. Wonder what place I’ll end up by the end!! So it’s made a cool event horrible & competitive, & unlike the derby it’s not who crosses the line first!

The Leader Board is strictly a diamond making business ‼️ They are playing on people’s competitiveness. I just hope people realize this fact. It’s like gambling, some people don’t have control. Usually I have no problem, and can finish in a couple of days with high score task. This time it’s all low scores. I am too busy to play this long. I feel it ties up my machines. I don’t feed my animals because as soon as I do, I get a task to feed or wake them up. This really was a bad idea. SC please reconsider this matter and listen to your players.

Maybe SC could make the task event leaderboard optional? Those who want to spend diamonds and face the constant barrage of Pop-ups can opt in, while the rest of us enjoy the game in peace?

It would be so much better that way.

I have had zero safari tasks, zero animal tasks.
I’m forced to use every hour of the day cooking jams.
Not a fan. It seems I have to work harder.
I even “neglected derby” this week by not even starting it. Can’t do 50% of the tasks when all good machines are full of garbage you’re making for the event.

This event needs fine tuned, pause derby the week of events. This will absolutely drive participants and not make us sacrifice derby.

Agreed a derby pause during events would be a good idea.  Or have both for those who aren’t doing the event but like to derby, and just don’t demote anyone not derby-ing.  Maybe make sure the derby for the week is a “chill” one, whatever it is.   

I believe it is how disciplined you are as a player. With multiple events going on at one given time, it’s hard to prioritize between events. (Derby and V-Day event) for example.

I am more inclined to spend diamonds to rush production. This whole concept isn’t introduced unless you are forced to do more with less. The only way that is possible is with boosters and diamonds. Both resources are rare and limited on a daily basis so in order to compensate, you must buy them with real money, IE: diamonds or boosters.

It’s a forcing mechanism inside the game to make you spend money to achieve your goals and the “event goals”.

Don’t think the random pop up notifications are there to remind you of your place in the hierarchy. They are there to remind you, you are falling behind and you need to buy more resources.

Eventually, SC will figure out what works best for them revenue wise. I really hope it’s not what we are going through as players presently.

I'm finding myself being drawn in to continuing the event after collecting the final prize. (It's probably the part of me that likes completeness; it's certainly not for the puzzle pieces, as I have all sanctuary animals already).

What I have noticed is that it's possible to complete a task and not claim the points before starting a new one.

In another game I play, some players keep items back until just before an event ends, and then cash them in, thereby giving themselves a chance of overtaking some other players. That doesn't work if everyone does it though!

I'm not saying that I'm going to use a similar technique in Hay Day, but it might be an interesting experiment. 🤔

Of course, it will be necessary to claim some of the points so as to spawn new tasks each day, but keeping back a high-value one could be a tactic, and then on the final day claiming points as late as possible.

So far I haven't deleted a single task, and have fulfilled my task quota every day so, in theory, I should collect maximum points. It could be interesting to see if someone else gets more points than me.

Just my thought processes at the moment...

You’re welcome. You wouldn’t believe it but it is hay day alas…. But now the last score has been surpassed. I wasn’t sure it could be done but I have been proven wrong lol

So how did someone that’s finished the event still continue to score?? Sharon was placed 2nd but managed to continue to do more tasks. Must be a bug for additional tasks possibly?

The one thing that stands out to me in the above image is that the player levels are not "similar" as was stated they'd be in the latest Dairy News.

I didn't pay attention to the event.
I went back to my own goal of upgrading all my quaint town buildings.
Success!! Goal accomplished!
Today I reached my own goal I worked hard to achieve. All town buildings upgraded!
