For the record, my own educated guess based solely on ingame info + SC promotional email: _ holly is tied to gift catalogue, it only goes away (converted to coins) when gift catalogue is no longer available _ gift stays as long as it can still be used or produced by the machine. _ boat on its way when event ends could still ask for gift. Not to convince everyone, I just wanted a possibility of "I say it first" moment later  Whatever the guess, I'll believe it when I see it in game. |

Hello kida, Thank you for your feedback. You did not offend me  . Been there, done that, got fed up, took break, coming back, review expectation, keep ranting... (or giving feedback, in some cases). Maybe it's age, I also accept game issues with a more generous attitude. To err is human and there are worse pb elsewhere. I actually think the game is much better now than in the beginning where it was quite easy to be exploited. I'm at a stage where I know how (or find out quickly) and can do almost everything in Hay Day, I just decided to only bother what pleases me most. I have to say that real life has much more interesting things to do as well ^^. Supercell games is the first games that I actually enjoy enough to join the community to learn tips and discuss strategies with like-minded people. However it's not always possible to have conversation between players with different playstyle. While some struggle with coins to buy new machine, I have no problem with clearing every RSS I could find, I simply don't mention it as I don't have a proper discussion thread to discuss how much the wealthy people enjoys new products right in front of other players who can't. How would they feel? The core of Hay Day remains some kind of resource management. Poor strategy or playstyle would easily lead a farm to a vicious cycle with constant need of coins or storage. That's usually where players got stuck and upset if they can't get out. When there are such things that bother players and if they want to ask for advice on how to improve, I'm sure other players are willing to share tips. But if all they need is just to vent then people will just listen or join them. Personally, I woudn't spend time on a post where I can't identify a question or a need for clarification. This forum, in english, is not the best representative of player base. Players who are actually pleased are busy playing, communicating on modern social platform looking for neighbors to trade, reminding them about derby task, sharing screenshots.... I can see that on some Discord servers, FB groups and Reddit. Not counting other similar platform in other languages. I'm sorry if the vibe from the forum alone let you think the game is heading south. I do believe the game is improving and trying to please all different playstyles, often contradictory. The introduction of new type of event (Task Event) this Fall has actually brings more reader/ poster to forum as there are new things to talk about, and not just the same old "when does Bunny come" that is already discussed trillions times on the internet. Hang in there! We're still here wherever the game is going.  Hmm. Will take some time to answer. Why don't you use quotes? Would be easier to answer if you did |

I just bought the last available expansion permit in the catalog. And with that, I'm done with the Holiday Boat Event. My Wrapping Machine shows I have two each of the gifts so I stop making them for now.

I admit I had a long moment of cognitive dissonance this morning 🤣
Did not know where to look or start!
Deleted some low point juice tasks from holiday event line immediately (and a jam one) as I'm currently stacking for an apple juice bingo task (that hasn't actually shown up yet)
It helps that I'm not overly fussed to make it to the end of the task line
The amount of hollies available in the task line means there is no need for more boats holly wise
Went around the newspaper buying ore, popcorn and whatever else took my fancy to fill the barn as the task lines always seem to be easier if you can stack without collecting
Prepped for all current tasks line tasks
And making a last yellow gift for a puzzle boat

And I’m definitely looking to the end of the line.🫣 Plus I went and took a boat task because ‘since I’m doing boats trying to get hollies anyway and I have (at the time) a day and a half before The Event arrives (uh huh🤨) it makes sense’. And my Derby has FOUR town tasks in the route I decided to take.
So no relaxing for me for a minute. I’m doing everything. 🤣🤣🤣 Fun times!

That does suck, it does feel slightly like they'd already decided on the gifts for the machine for 2024 before they then came up with the task line idea as an event (given that some are in the decorations and theme of the house etc) So that the felt they had to bring the gift machine back if only for a brief showing to justify/reinforce those already created decorations |

Seems strange to have an idle gift wrapping machine sitting around for another 15 days. It's taking up valuable real estate! I will shuffle it off to a remote corner of my farm so I can use the space for holiday deco.

I also wasn't aware in the first place that there is no need for gifts any longer since the new event provides us with more than enough hollies. Assumed you are doing the event. 😉
Well, I still prepped my machine for 4 yellow gifts, but after that it's "finito". 🌺🎄⭐️

BauldersGate You have good ideas. It also crossed my mind to try this some time (fill the barn completely) but this is too laborious bc my barn has too much space. I still had to buy things from the DD to get it filled. I was not in the mood to do so. 😁 BostonGirl I was laughing when I read your post about skipping the valley. This IS real a "win". 😉

I’m finished filling boats, but I’m hoping to come out “even” with the gifts I’ve made. I sent away boats until I got one that wanted the 4 red boxes I had on hand. Then I was left with 4 trains. I assumed that I would find flagged crates requesting gifts, but they are few and far between. Perhaps it’s because people have switched over to the new event. I did have one very satisfying “Secret Santa” moment. I came across a boat in the newspaper that had flagged 3 train crates. I happily filled all three. I’m hoping to come across one more train crate; that will clear out all my gift boxes.

Summary of things happening today on 21st December: _ at 9a.m. UTC: boat event ends. Future boat triggered (by sending off the boat at the dock) after this time no longer have gifts. _ some time later, and before 13:00 UTC, Gift Wrapping Machine is disabled. New gift can no longer be added to the queue. --> this is the sign that the machine is no longer needed. When it goes away (soon), the gift in barn will also disappear (listed as 0). Holly converting into coins clarification:_ Holly stays as long as you can use it in Catalogue. _ The event poster which is counting down till 3rd January 2024 coïncides with the end of Holly Catalogue, and not the time when the machine stays available and active. _ When Holly Calatogue goes away, Holly will be converted into coins. Although not indicating clearly, the event board almost always counting down to 8a.m. UTC. The expected end time of Holly Catalogue is thus 8a.m UTC on 3rd January, at the earliest.
