My Event board has two events posted. Both seem related to the gift machine, but they have different end dates. Why?
Holiday Event - ends in 20 d 17 h
During this event, you get a special, tine-limited production building for your farm. With the Gift Wrapping Station, you can produce gift items to send off on boats, exclusively during the holiday event.
The special production building will be removed from your farm after the event is over!
Holiday Gift Boats Event - ends in 7 d 18 h
It's the Holiday season, and the river boats all want some time limited gifts! Fill crates with gift products to receive Hollies, which you can trade for special rewards from the postman gifts catalogue.
When the event is over, your leftover Hollies will be converted into coins.

Added to this - and basically the same perspective - if the boat event ends in 7 days and many of the gifts only become available in 12 days, how are we supposed to get those gifts? This isn’t making sense to me at all.

Firstly, please don't blame the messenger! I received an email from Supercell a few days ago. It talked about the boat event, and the chance to earn mistletoe as currency to spend in the gift catalogue. We must assume that the mistletoe magically converted into holly between the email being written and the gift wrapping machine arriving. The email went on to say this:  I wonder if this means there will be another event when the boats end, and we will be able to earn hollies from that event too. If that is the case, having the catalogue run on beyond the boat event sounds OK. Fingers crossed... |

If I speculate....what I'm doing right now...I'd assume we are getting a new event after the boats are finished. SC isn't very clear at that part but I think we can consider us happy getting an "info" at all. THX to the good connections from Cowslips. 👍 If I continue speculation I'd say we are getting an event similar to the Halloween event. Hopefully, THAT would be nice. And please...with appropriate time and plenty tasks per day. Most of us have to work for a living and can't be online 24/7. Please, keep that in mind, Team from Hayday! We'd appreciate such a foresight very much! 🙂 |

They send email to those with SC ID who subscribed to receive news. It's one of SC ID settings.
Now don't tell me that task event requires.... Gift wrapping machine?
Talk about making informed desicion, players could have invest or spend their Holly differently if they had known the full picture of all income of Holly.
Task event sounds like Thanksgiving task event...maybe similar format. Good for them trying different format. Not so happy being the one who is being experimented.

Technically if while the event is on you call hundreds of boats, and use diamonds to open all slots and rush gift production, you could bank hollies to shop in the catalogue at the end. Is it sensical? Nope. Not one bit. But it is doable.🤷♀️ Time as always will tell. |

With or without participating in Holiday Task Event, I could still buy something there. Like..I don't want to buy permit at 200 Holly, I want it to be at 250 Holly so it feels more precious!! |

The Holiday Event poster (which ends in 20 d) specifically mentions boats, so it doesn't seem like making gifts for boats will be replaced by something else. (However, I would like to make gifts to sell in town).
Maybe, the second Holiday Boat Event poster (which ends in 7 d) is just an OOPS with no deeper meaning?

Interesting good to see sc are trying a new format. It would be nice if you could put up a few items from your catalogue up for friends to buy if you’re not buying them. Only hope it’s set at easier mode as many are very busy outside the game.

Whatever SC’s plans, it’s unacceptable for the boat event to end in 7 days and the gift wrap and sweets holiday shops not to be available for 12 days. They need to publicize up front how the event will work. Ricky’s video gives an excellent explanation of what we know, but the lack of clarity about the event after the boat event ends is WRONG! I’ve been trying to use my holly as I earn enough for the items that will be leaving soon. If I should be saving up holly for the two late-arriving holiday shops, I need to know so that I won’t spend holly on chick vouchers, permits, and LEMs. I’m spending diamonds to call boats early and speed up packages (not many, but they’ll add up), and if is not going to be worth my while, I’d like to save them for another time.

Thank you to all of you that come here and share info! I have never gotten any of the news blurbs. I used to get news on the in game news tabs. Not any more.  I am not certain on what this whole new event thing will be with the holly.... but we can't save them till the end and then shop. Once shop 2 begins, we won't have access to what is currently available. UNLESS this gets changed as well. |

Supercell has the opportunity to rectify when Holiday Boat Event ends during maintenance they could have planned, or during today maintenance. They did not. I suspect they don't need to. I think it's totally safe to estimate the *earliest* date where the first boat without gift would come. Like any previous boat event, the boat that is "on the way" when event ends would still be part of the event. So, at the earliest, when the Holiday boat event ends at 8:00 a.m UTC on 21st December 2023, the last boat carrying gift will be on their way (if not already at the dock).However, Supercell can still have the choice to extend the event (like they did with Oktoberfest event). It's very unlikely for Supercell to shorten an event intentionally. |

Sadly, I just found another example of Team Hay Day's lack of communication with the community on one of its official channels. Hay Day tweeted about the Gift Wrapping Station on December 10, 2023. Then a player asked the above question a few hours later. As of the writing of this post, the date is December 14, 2023 and no one from Hay Day has replied. I don't know what's happening behind the scenes with Team Hay Day, but I don't think it's good business practice to ignore a question for four days posted on your official channel with 247.6 K followers!
Wake up Team Hay Day. You're falling asleep at the wheel again, IMO. |

I am an old timer, farming from the beginning. With that being said, SC needs to hunt down Nick and bring him back. He was soooo good answering our questions. Just PAY SOMEONE to read all the outlets HD is on, and answer the questions. Even if the answer is, “I don’t know, but I will check on it for you.” OR “Your guess is as good as mine “. Just the fact that we feel heard and not ignored. Here is a shoutout to Nick, hope you are good. We miss you‼️

Remember the year of the Christmas bell? As I recollect, we didn’t reach the global goal for that, and I don’t think we reached the New Year’s global goal either. The forum was awash with dismay. There was [crickets] from SC for over two weeks. Supposedly, the winter holiday in Finland shuts everything down while light-starved Finns head for the sun…or something. There was such outrage from farmers that SC gave up forever on the global event model that had us all contributing knitted items (or pumpkin items for Halloween). At least the current special event models allow individuals to work as hard as they wish. However, I am going to be seriously displeased (and I know I’m not alone) if that last gift boat sails away and I am left with the gift wrap machine and no way to earn more holly. Especially if there are gifts in the catalog that haven’t even become available yet. I taught kindergarten, and my students had better calendar skills than this! |

I am so frustrated, as are the long time, farm pass buying, players in my hood. It makes me want to just give up. The set up of this is ridiculous, and if they don’t address it, their players are going to howl when the boats go away and most of the holiday market rewards are in some other game or other event or simply not available. I say “when” because I suspect a lot of players haven’t yet noticed that the boats go away while the catalogue has a week that isn’t even close to being open yet. Meanwhile, those of us who have noticed are deciding whether to save holly for the final week, or buy what we would like in this week before it ends. For my part, I have no idea how to play smart in this event. And that is on SuperCell. |

I just reread the boat event notice. It says that hollies will be converted to coins when the Boat Event is over. Yes. So we can’t save hollies for the final week of gifts. Several someones need to go back to MiniGardener ’s kindergarten class. (Not anyone here! SuperCell developers and editors who are paid to do this 😂) |

Right now there are less than 2 days left and I don't know if I should buy the ones I want or save for the ones on future weeks. I don't have enough to do both and these ones expire soon so a new event doesn't cover this problem. If they can't extend the boat event length they should just cancel everything and send Alfred with an appology for all the stress caused and all the prizes for all the players. 600 windmills added if possible... As for the new event do you really think that the gift wrapping machine won't be used? That it will stay on our farms for so many extra days with no purpose at all? |

SuperCell developers and editors who are paid to do this 😂) I wouldn't trust Supercell wording as they reused the wording from last year without adaptation. They can't even announce the weekly event correctly . But that's my opinion, won't push for anyone to save their Holly. Even if that's the case (Holly disappear after when boat event ends), then a very large player base will be heavily affected as there are conflicting info everywhere. As you said, it's on them, they gotta come up with a compensation later. On the other hand. they made those deco for us players, they gott give us some way to earn those deco. The 1st week event is endign soon. I look forward to the 1 day gap in the catalogue and/or eventually monday maintenance. |
