The only thing missing is some sort of in-game notice for those of us who prefer not to use social media. Joining FB, Reddit, etc. should not be a requirement for getting necessary bulletins. The original forum was very convenient.
I found the early forced connections to FB very annoying, and I tried Reddit for about one minute when the forum closed. I still have an FB account, but I only use it to get an idea of what the team is putting out there. In my opinion, a lot of “creative” energy goes into painfully juvenile attempts to encourage a community on FB. I don’t use Instagram, I don’t use Twitter (I refuse to call it X, the name was the best part of the concept). I watch R3DKNIGHT’s videos because they are the only place to get accurate info.
I am so grateful to the farmers who took the initiative to set up JustHayDay. Saved the day!!

lynnk2021 Also thanks from me for sharing the news. Finally SC become aware about the confusion they produced with their "weird" communication efforts. I can only name it as an "effort" bc real and good information in time is something completely different. Well, hopefully they learned something, hope dies last. I am also on Reddit and could have found and post this, but I use the Reddit sub mostly for another game I am playing. It's more structured than HayDay. Due to this I avoid mostly Reddit for HayDay bc I am not in the mood to go through the posts. The more I appreciate your help keeping us well informed whenever you get an opportunity. Thank you! Oh yes, I also would prefer a reliable and timely info in-game! 😉

My next boat though has no presents??? The boat event has come to an end, unfortunately. You can still get hollies from the Holiday Event, so the postman catalogue remains active. I have wondered if something else may come along that requires wrapped presents (trucks, for example) but I have no reason to think that. It just seems odd that the gift wrapping machine will remain with us for some considerable time. Please don't read too much into this; it's just my own speculation. |

Last year there where stragglers for weeks afterwards where you'd suddenly come across a boat in the newspaper asking for presents, even into January

They really need to learn using timezone in their announcement/messages. It is an assumption under Nick era that the time of event and many stuff starts at 8 a.m. UTC.
In recent annoucement this assumption no longer stays true. Messages are pretty much useless without the details.

Does your event board still show the boat event specifically, or are you referring to the notification showing the gift wrapping machine? If it's the latter, the machine will continue to be with us for 12 days, but boats will not ask for presents (unless a new event starts). Unless some new event comes along the only way we can use presents is to fill "late arrival" boats for other players. Those are likely to be few and far between, but we may chance upon the odd one or two. |
