Read a bit of blurb on wiki that they've become a kind of a traditional prank at Christmas time in Sweden, to place one in someone's house without them knowing then that person has to do the same to pass it along? Not sure of accuracy but I like the idea 😁

I sent off the boat that was at my landing, and the next boat included event gift packages — eight of the round package. I had loaded six in the machine when I got up at about 3:00 a.m. (like the old days before I ever bought any diamonds setting alarms every two hours to get the most out of 24 hours with Tom) to get the event started.

The logjam is going to be gambling on which packages to produce and hoping it’s what my next boat wants. I may decide to just stack as many as I can without worrying about what my next boat will want. I can always fill boats for friends or from the newspaper with the packages I have. I think that will turn out to be less stressful. I never fill boats except for the derby or puzzle pieces. I think my goal will be to just make as many packages as possible and use them wherever there’s a flag if they aren’t the correct ones for my boat.

I noticed that there is a little timer beside the active package in the machine that says I can get a 50% reduction in production time if I watch an ad! Has anyone tried that? Does it seem worthwhile? Would watching the ads get me on unwelcome lists somewhere?

Sux we dont get the slots we paid for last year, I certainly wont be spending any to open slots, particularly when I am spending diamonds to just be able to use the broken personal train, AND after paying for the farm pass, am not getting the perks I paid for, like an extra fuel spin & extra WoF spin!

I didn’t get the free spins for WOF and fuel for valley, either. I only opened one slot for the gift wrapping machine.  

I used the time to produce some gift for my inventory. 
Decided to produce some of the longlasting ones. Only to have it in barn. The time I can need it, will come. 
But you are so right. Lost 8 hours without holly. It's annoying!

No, it is not reseted. 
Unfortunately, it is a new machine. 

But can't understand the reason why they didn't give us the same machine. 
The products were more balanced than this time. 

I don’t know how this will go. So far today I’ve had to do one boat at a time, and am on the third now. I haven’t opened any extra slots but did set timers every howevermany minutes to load the next ones. But I won’t be able to do that overnight, obviously, or tomorrow. So that will be a lot of wasted time. Then the additional items for the boats are like, jams, or jelly donuts which take jam…. I already have Rose and Ernest and a boat crate booster going. Do I need to give even more diamonds to add Tom, too? Lol.

Just have to see how it goes, I guess. Here’s hoping. I do like the market deco, and am really tempted by the chestnut machine, but it’s too expensive for me. Hope I can get enough of the others from wherever they are, to make at least a small “market-like” design. 🙏💕😊

First of all, thank you porg69 for sharing the above screenshot.  I'm amused by Team Hay Day's logic.  Since the Gift Wrapping Machine is "free" and temporary, all progress and slots will be lost after the event is over.  But when we buy permanent machines with coins, we get to keep the progress and slots we opened with diamonds.  So why didn't Team Hay Day allow us the option to buy the Gift Wrapping Machine with coins?

I'm under no illusion that this is a free event and realize I must pay diamonds for the opportunity to win special permits and exclusive decoration.  Since I'm hoarding diamonds to open slots for new machines, I'm willing to part with 10% of my diamond stash to ensure a smoother event.  Team Hay Day, I already paid 20 diamonds and that's all you're getting.  Ya got that!?

Reminds me of a terrible boss of an old victorian workhouse who 'gave' you a job....but then you have to 'rent' the required tools in order to accurately/ swiftly complete that job (shovels, safety wear, etc) from those same bosses....and sure you could do it by hand without those tools and safety gear but your chances/speed are better with!

Oh yes. In this week there are so many scrolls!!! 

But the snow fight is so funny and not xmas. Only a winter deco, so you can use it the whole winter time. 
I will catch it first. And then I will try as many scrolls. 
I really love this deco. 

But for me I am not playing as long as others here. 
So I have really nice deco. But I don't have as much as someone who has played for many, many years. 
And I have round about 50 scrolls in my inventory. 
Enough for several land to unlock. 

So my priorities are different.
