Theres no indication that feeding it different things has any different effects ๐ค Bit odd but I think the variety is just for show? Maybe they feel bad about only allowing cats milk or dogs bacon etc ๐
I have been feeding a variety of foods and the only thing I see different is that the peacock is more active, spreading its feathers. In the beginning he rarely did.

My peacock acts the same no matter what I feed it. I've tested mine for wake time. Each day a different food. It was 6 hrs no matter what was eaten and the same activity.. one thing funny, to me anyway, my blue one walked to my sheep pen which is not near the cage, an hung out with the sheep for about 3 weeks. Now it is checking out the squirrels which is in another direction lol. The brown one just wanders over to the RSS and checks out the garden.

So, the eagerly-anticipated second peacock has arrived on my farm.
The first one (Neil) and I have been really excited all week. Unfortunately, we'd both assumed that it would be a female, but when we saw her displaying her tail we realised that she was a he!
He's now been re-named and the boys are getting to know each other.
The fault is really all my own, in making an assumption. Supercell are always good at labelling things, and it was called the brown peacock.
Hay Day continues to surprise me, even after all these years!

The brown peacock has arrived on my farm too ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐. I was relieved that the season tasks were relatively easy and I was able to complete them fairly quickly.

Congrats to those who have welcomed their peafowl! Iโm a long way from acquiring those! I do hope that chick vouchers will become more available on the free farm pass at some point. If not, I might have to be happy with none of them.
Just curious โฆโฆ do they give special items like the other pets, when you wake them?

Hi ๐ป Farmgirl ๐ฉโ๐พ , I also had to wait some time for my first peacock as I didn't bought the farmpass every month. To be honest...sorry for that...I can't answer your question regarding a tool as I didn't payed attention to it. I hope another member can say more to that matter.

Yes, they are a part of the gift dropping system in a similar way to the other pets. What is different about the peacocks is that they don't have a food bowl each; there is a bucket at their bird house which can be filled with up to 10 items, and they both feed from the same bucket, following the 6-hour schedule that other pets (except donkeys) use. They are polite though; one waits whilst the other one feeds, but the waiting one looks a bit impatient! There are 11 different items that they can eat, including fish and watermelon. I tend to load the bucket with items that are plentiful. If it is loaded with 10 items they will eat one portion each before sleeping, so you don't have to fill the bucket every time.

I'm sticking to my initial belief, the brown one is the girl, Princess Pea, who stole the feathers from the one down the road (maybe BauldersGate should check if some feathers are missing? ) and today the blue one, Han Fowlo, arrived. He sure is handsome! ... this at least until we get more Peacocks, maybe a total of 10 to match the 10-item feed bucket?

I got the blue one today and oh my goodness, what an attention seeker! He is very pretty and he knows it. He spreads his tail feathers constantly to block the brown one from view and shimmies around the place looking very pleased with himself. Brown one, in the meantime, carries on quietly with her business and largely ignores the new arrival. She does have some male traits, agreed, as she spreads her own tail every now and again, but i think sheโs just quietly sounding off at his arrogance (her colours are more unusual anyway ๐). Love them both and really like that their feeding needs are so low maintenance, especially compared with the sanctuary animals.

Since I bookmarked the thread, I'm amused when I get notifications there's recent discussion about the peafowl. Originally, I thought the OP used peafowl instead of peacock to bypass ProBoards' filters. If so, it isn't necessary because ProBoards doesn't consider peacock objectionable and won't replace peacock with pea****. TIL from the Britannica website the following. www.britannica.com/animal/peacockSpeaking of unnecessary filtering, many years ago when I joined my first neighborhood, there was an active player named *Penny Pea**** so we saw her name often in game chat. I finally addressed the elephant in the room and asked her why she starred out her last name. She replied she didn't and said it was the game. And thus, I learned about Hay Day's filters which I confirmed by mentioning Captain Peacock in the British sitcom "Are You Being Served?" When I get a chance to visit London, I must go directly to a department store. And when I get off the lift, I'll scan for the Floorwalker who will ask with alacrity, "Are you being served?" Suppressing my smile with a straight face, I'll reply, "Where's the haberdashery?" ;-) ==LynnK== *First name changed to protect the innocent because doxing is a thing.

I hope the peacocks we've gotten are male and female like the cats and dogs on our farms which led to the introduction of kittens and puppies, respectively. BTW, TIL baby peacocks are called peachicks. I'm looking forward to them, Team Hay Day. ;-) birdfact.com/articles/baby-peacocks

In real life...female birds are usually dull colored to blend better when nesting and the males are bright and beautiful to attract mates. In Dibzie's world, however, females are the bright and beautiful and the males are dull!

LOL, Dibzie. In my world, when the peafowls arrive on my farm, one must be a peacock and the other a peahen so I may name them Sheldon and Amy, respectively. And thus, I may use the portmanteau SHAMY.
Bazinga! ;-)

Just noticed something funny
When it comes time for them to eat and sleep there is obviously only 1 bucket
Whilst one eats the other gives you the 'why-are-you-starving-me' droopy pout till its their turn
Impatient and dramatic

Oddly enough, when I got the second, the first slept far away (for the first time). But the next night the second one did. Interesting characters these two! P.S. Love the gator hat!๐
