I just got the blue one, it’s so pretty. I just have no clue how this feeding works yet with filling the bucket since you can drop a lot of items in to fill the bucket. I've just found mine sleeping. I could put one item into his feed bucket, which was full before he slept; the bucket looked full, but there was space for the additional piece of food. Ive now woken him up and planted a bed of strawberries near him so when he sleeps again I can get an indication of the time between sleeps. Same, mine went to sleep at the same time as all my other pets when I logged in So I'm same guessing about the time frame as the rest of them Also I could add just 1 bit of food so they must eat one at a time ...maybe all the bird pets eat out the one bucket so the amount is to feed a gaggle of them? (Double checked Gregg's farm and his house has 2 peacocks and just the one bucket too) I might let it empty and count how many portions can go in because I didn't bother 1st time 😅

There she is! May I introduce Princess Pea (... I'm thinking she is waiting for Han Fowlo) Her appetite is ferocious, she eats just about everything and she loves to strut around like she owns the farm

I am so confused with feeding mine.
It had the same choices as Cowslips posted in her picture, above and was l title worried that it wanted all of that!
So we can feed it a custom mixture? Do we put in one thing at a time?
I didn’t just want to drop in my entire stock of strawberries, or half my silo, lol. Then it would have to eat like, once a month.

There are 10 different food items that you can give them. I like that, as it means I can feed with the item(s) that have a good stock. I filled up Neil's bucket with 10 assorted items, and he took 1 before he went to sleep. He'll probably sleep again soon, so I'll check what happens then. It makes some sense that the feeding routine is different. That's a part of the usual game challenges that we are used to (such as most pets stay fed for 6 hours, but donkeys for only 1 hour). Supercell keep us on our toes! It's great fun investigating and experimenting. EDIT: there are 11 food items - the watermelon and the whistle appear on page 3. I live and learn...

Same with my Princess Pea, after she arrived, she woke up with one food item, then I was able to add bunches (did not count) of different crops to the bucket. Just checked on her, and to wake her up one watermelon was enough. So what happened to all the items I added to the bucket earlier?

Neil was ready for sleep after 6 hours, so he works on the same timing as other pets and the sheep.
He ran over to the full bucket, ate messily and with gusto, then ran around before sleeping.
The bucket looked full after he'd eaten, but I was able to add one more item to it. Waking him gave 40 XP.

As I said above it will be a while before I can get one, but this thread will be very helpful in figuring out how and what and when to feed them! Keep up all the good work figuring it out so I won't have to!!!

I'm going to see how many times a peacock can eat before the bucket is completely empty 😅 ....so far Arjuna (my green/brown bird) is at 2 portions eaten, none replaced, and it still looks full; EDIT: I looked back at screenshot taken and there is an extremely slight difference in buckets; FULL (overflows bucket rim): 2 DOWN (you can see bucket rim): 3 DOWN:

Topping is still the same, level is indeed bit lower. I am doing the same experiment. Started with 10 soybeans.

I do like how we can feed it all sorts of items so we can just use whatever we have extras of at feeding time. Mine also ate just 1 item when it went to sleep so it appears you can wake it several rounds without putting more food in the bucket which is a nice touch.
I’m wondering if we have multiple peacocks they all will eat from the same bucket. That would certainly be nice as more buckets would look so crowded.

do we get the 40 stars when we fill up the bucket? I woke mine up without adding food and no stars, the peacock did not go to the bucket to get food. I am a little bit confused at the moment.

The 40-point stars fly when you wake the peacock, but they move quickly so can be hard to spot. It's similar to other pets. He will walk around for 6 hours, and then go to the bucket to feed before settling down to sleep.

I got the brown one on jr! Beautiful. By the way, a male is called a peacock. A female is a pea hen... very plain. A male and female couple is called peafowl. My neighbors raised them for many years. They can be mean! Lol. Especially if they have a clutch of eggs!

Exactly greenleaf 😅 For my money I'd bet that unless females are to be released at a later date that supercell looked at the colourartion of a pair of Indian peafowl; Where the male is the classic blue and the female is mostly brown with a green sheen on her neck And built on that to make 2 'impressive' birds rather than one bright and one 'drab'

I have yet to see my peacock eat anything. I will just keep waking him up. The bucket seems to stay full.

I am absolutely sure of it. Her beautiful tail feathers are from some cocky peacock somewhere down the road, he was showing off a little too much, so she went over in the deep of night and plugged them all. Those feathers are hers to keep now and she sure displays them proudly (no offense intended with this post, my imagination just gets the better of me when it comes to my Hay Day farm )

Love it 😁 treating my brown as a female too Sticking with my naming fauna for (preferably native) flora theme I've gone with Arjuna for my girl 😁

Got it, it's a little on the small size but pretty. I also got the Artic fox. Really small looking, esp since it's white against a white background.

Its a tree native to India, Terminalia arjuna is its full scientific name but it's common name is Arjuna or Arjun in English 😁 Seems to have more famous men with the name than women but to me it sounds more feminine 😅 Seems to suit my new bird pet anyway 😁

I was thinking 'Neem' which is the common name of another Indian tree the Azadirachta indica also known as Indian Lilac ...I've learnt more about native flora from naming hayday pets (especially safari animals) then I ever knew before 😅
