I've been behind in production machines due to progression from the farm pass XP and not bringing in enough coins. It got to the point where I couldn't decide which machines to build as more became available as I levelled up (it probably would have been logical to build the machines in the order of how fast I could bring in coins with their products). I decided to see if I could wait to get enough coins (4630000) to build them at the same time. As that time approached today I changed my plan to start building them so they'll finish at the same time, which meant I could delay being able to afford them all at once (though the gap couldn't be too wide, as there are only eight hours between longest and shortest build time). The machines are (in order of build times): Bath Kiosk, Fondue Pot, Deep Fryer, Tea Stand, Donut Maker, Hot Dog Stand. The first two have just started construction. The next two will be an hour later, then six hours later the Donut Maker, and finally the Hot Dog Stand after eight hours (this assumes the Hay Day wiki production building list is up to date, which I'm not 100% sure of as it's missing the two recent new buildings). In the eight hours for the final building I need to bring in about 23000 coins, but as I have Tom active he'll be able to get me that (or most of it). I also have some products left and have some profitable ones in production (I have been selling a lot of barn items today). It's been fun. Kind of. Frustrating at times when I've not been able to make products for boats, trucks or townies (Tom and the DD have helped, but of course they also deplete coins). But in four days when those five six machines are ready (and hopefully I'll have made some ingredients in the meantime to start them working right away) it's going to be great (hopefully). Of course, I'll be out of coins, and within a month I'll be level 91 and with that comes the Preservation Station...

Congratulations, that’s a great achievement!! Yes, indeed! Well done!
Despite from your actual deal buying several machines at a certain point in time, do you have a clue why you are lacking with coins in general? I know, it's unfortunate on the part of SC to introduce a machine at EVERY UPDATE the last time and at once offering the farmpass which is tightening the pressure gaining coins by spending XP for a faster leveling, but this couldn't be the one reason for that matter.
I would really like to help you, because I havn't these problems. As for me I'm very reluctant buying expensive deco, and I'm trying to sell as much as possible. But my RSS is not so much involved to that matter, my principal source of income is my town. I know that not everyone has the town full developed, and it's depending from ones playstyle, but I'd be interested what caused your lack of coins. In your opinion.
THX for answering this.

donkeyfan,
It basically comes down to my play style, which is kind of slack. I go for days (or even weeks) without town activity, and only fill boat and truck orders occasionally (usually for events (but not all... and definitely not double/triple XP events)). I've rarely ever sold things in the RSS. I guess my play style would be Hoarder. I've always played like this, with now and then a burst of lots of activity for a few days. I don't keep my machines running all the time.
I now have six machines waiting to be unwrapped, which makes it worth the effort. I'm aiming for (and should have) the coins for the Preservation Station this month, which is also when I'll unlock it.

A few things I realised once I unwrapped these machines...
I should have had more chocolate and olive oil ready. I forgot there'd be only two production slots for each machine. Most importantly... I now have to rearrange my farm to place these machines in the appropriate areas (I have machines grouped in some sort of logic, such as non-food product machines are together).

Reviving this older thread I found.
Coming back to the game after years I'm so excited and happy to see new machines, etc! I've missed a lot! I need over 4 million coins to buy them all. Ha. I know, one at a time maybe? It's still very daunting. I'm trying to stay out of the DD as much as possible, sell everything, make what I need myself, do the town,....
Does anyone have any additional advice? I'm using Tom also, but seems so is everyone in the DD. 😆

I would also use Tom for the items you cannot make because you are lacking the machines, instead of buying blankets and rings to sell for coin. Definitely do the 2x coin events, like trucks today. Personally, I would stay away from the DD. And I would not start doing the derby yet. The town is not the place to make coin, either. Unless boats are 2x coin, I would avoid those. Stay focused on producing and selling. Everything will sell at max price. If you can, use Rose and Ernest so that you have a good supply of sugars and dairy. Maybe you have boosters, but they do come free for 3 days about once a month. Doing the above will help you to avoid a lot of XP, as you probably do not want to level up until you can ‘afford’ to. Good luck! Let us know your progress.

To answer your question about making coins, I became a HD millionaire by doing the following: Plant, harvest, and sell soy beans (10 for 108 coins) nonstop. Once it becomes a habit, it's hard to stop .
One of the hurdles we must overcome in the game is always having enough coins to buy anything we need, IMO. ==LynnK==

Thank you both Momscar and Lynn for the great tips!
I can easily ignore the town. I've never liked it, but had read others say it's a good source of coin so I began to pay more attention to it. Perhaps it's just a matter of preference, I don't know, but sounds good to me to leave it! The truck event is helping A Lot. There's only 1 more machine coming to me as I level up, and I'm almost there anyway, so I'm not too worried about gaining xp.
I am also a soybeaner! Lynn I can't believe you made so much by doing just that! Maybe you also sold your drops? That's a hard one for me to do also, but I'm trying to get better!
I so appreciate the advice from you two HD veterans! Thank you! 😘

You're welcome, ClassyCats. IIRC, I started to soybean regularly at around level 50 and became a HD millionaire at around level 100. It was a grind but OTOH, I no longer experienced chronic shortages of coins. It's very likely I sold my drops because I don't hoard BEMs or SEMs and save only the EMs needed for the next expansion.
Speaking of EMs, I'm a Town enthusiast because it's a major source of EMs for me to upgrade barn, silo, and new lands.

ClassyCatsI can't say what my strategy was for gaining coins. Probably a mix from different things. Mom’sCar named some and lynnk2021 completed it. The soybean-selling ist a very good idea. If you do this constantly you'll wonder some time later how your amount of coins increases as soybean is one of the crops which is always in great demand. Looking back I'd say I filled my RSS permanent and tried to give it some "kind of a habit", so you won't forget it. Additional I avoided consequently buying from the DD and spending coins for expensive deco. Such as Maggies offer or completing custom deco. Last but not least I have my town, my fav place in HayDay. I remember a thread from the old SC forum. One member once made a check about the most effective and best places in HayDay to gain what you need. You may not believe it, but it was the town. Fully developed it's unbeatable. Extremely balanced, simply good. Problem is, you need much time and stamina to complete the town. Sadly I began when I was level 60. I wished retrospective I'd begun much earlier. But it was early enough to enjoy now the merit in every respect. Don't neglect the town, otherwise you may regret it later. The more you defer it the more difficult it will be to develop it. Follow the hints from Mom’sCar and lynnk2021 , but don't forget your town. Believe me!

donkeyfan. Thank you! I am forum illiterate it seems and don't know how to tag you. Or do anything on here, really, so I just switch the colors. Hope you get my reply anyway. ☺️
I thought there were some hay dayers out there who praise the town for coins. The only thing I don't have there is some of the sanctuary animals. Otherwise everything is open. I only fill orders for what I think reasonable and what I want to give up, but I certainly don't fret about it. I don't remember when they came out with the town, but I was there for it. Disliked it from the beginning! 😁 However some of the requests do seem to be profitable. Sort of?
I'm always harvesting and selling soybeans. I've done this since the very beginning. I think a big problem of mine is that I don't sell much else! But as I've said before, I'm trying to do better! The DD has always been so tempting to me. I need to get out of the habit of that. I was a competitive derby player and did boats nonstop back to back, so I'm sure that's where a lot of the habit of searching through the ads comes from. It seems pointless lately-- bouquets, blankets, cloche hats, diamond rings, blackberries, berry smoothies! Nothing but those! Has this been going on for a while now? Think they need to do some tweaking, but that wouldn't be good for me.
I appreciate your insights and advice very much! I need all of it I can get, even though I may already know some of it (such as avoiding the DD), I definitely need the reminders to drive the nail in! Thank you! 😊 😊

@classycats, I don’t know your level and the number of fields you have got. What worked for me and still does is plant and harvest wheat. Sell at default price. It doesn’t go fast, but you will get a drop for every 75 fields that you harvest. I am level 199 farm and with the number of fields that I have I harvest between 2-3 items every two minutes. I sell what I don’t need or trade.
All the other options mentioned above also might work for you, depending on what you like to do. I dislike the town, and only do it with events or for derby tasks. That’s most likely also the reason why my town level is just above 40, I don’t focus on it.

Hi ClassyCats You're welcome. Don't bother with the lack of knowledge how to tag someone. I explain it to you. Sometimes tagging can get tricky, because your name in a posting differs from the "real" on. Take me for example, my Nick is donkeyfan, and when you tap on my name you'll see my name (donkeyfan) in paranthesis. The only thing you have to do is to put an "@" without a gap left from the name, this would be for me " donkeyfan " without the quotation marks. Your name differs. So, if I wan't to tag you, I have to write your Nick in paranthesis. Try it. If you're unsure, take a look by tapping on the members name. Town is very, very tenaciously, I know that. You need not only weeks, it takes month to get it done. And in the beginning you have the issue that the town want more from you instead of giving you. That's the hardest time, very tough. Interesting, you filled boat orders? You must have many vouchers. To be honest, boat and board orders aren't my fav, I avoid it as much as I can. Only exception is if I'm in need for something and perhaps sometimes a task for the farmpass. That's my play-style, it has proved optimal for my wishes and my satisfaction. I only do things I want to do, because I won't get stressed. Due to this I don't play Bingo, Mystery or Blossom derby. It's getting on my nerves. I think the main thing is to be patient and to know, that some things need time. I know that's not always easy to handle, but there's no way around it. HayDay is forcing you to be patient, you can't escape it. That means you have to deal with it, whether you want or not. But in the end you will succeed. Can you imagine that I didn't liked the town in the first place? I was not in the mood to develop it, but some member from another forum convinced me to do so. And helped me with tools. And shortly after that I understood how nice and great the town could be. At first you have to suffer, but later you enjoy.

ClassyCats Additional: I must confess I was a little bit too enthusiastic with the town regarding coins. The best place to handle this issue is the RSS. Sorry for that. After some research I found the thread which compared different places on HayDay. Here it is: justhayday.boards.net/thread/317/legacy-measure-products-value-fixedAs long as you're lacking coins the RSS would be the best choice. Nevertheless I recommend developing the town if possible. If you have enough tools to increase a part of a building, spend it, don't hesitate. This way you can handle 2 things in one shot, gaining coins and improving the town alongside without any pressure.
