Hay Day is killing me softly with the chronic White and Green Screens of Death
I was having trouble downloading the recent update until I uninstalled game and reinstalled game and was able to play it several times without issues until the troubles appear. First, I played for a few minutes and the GIANT GREEN SCREEN popped up which signified a crash. Then I logged back in and played some more and tried to use Supercell ID to switch to my baby farm and was met with a GIANT WHITE SCREEN which signified a crash.
I realize I'm playing on an aging tablet running Android 9, but per the Device Care app, I have 1.4 GB of free space and 1.0 GB of free RAM. Team Hay Day must've increased the system requirements in the latest update, v1.62.180.
Is anyone else with aging devices seeing the White Screen of Death or the Green Screen of Death? Thank you.

This already happened to my phone last year.
First Hayday was only slow. Then it didn't really react. It took an annoying time to load the game and if I tapped on something it took very long to open the menus, scrolling along the farm. Later it often crashes.
After another update I got a green screen when I wanted to open the game.
My phone was very old so I already decided to buy a new one. It only took some time to decide what I want.

I'd like to share the good news that I'm no longer dying (metaphorically speaking of course) from the chronic Green Screens of Death and the White Screens of Death. Did Team Hay Day release a patch to fix the issue for aging tablets? Did Team Hay Day inform the public about the chronic crashes via any of their social media channels, official or unofficial? Of course THEY DIDN'T because they don't communicate well with their users, IMHO. More on that later.
While I was taking a break from Hay Day by cleaning my desk, I found a Best Buy gift card received not recently. So I started my research by visiting Best Buy to hold the tablets in my hands. Most of them are the size of hardcover books, an increase from my current device which is the size of a paperback. Since I confirmed from a clerk how much monies was on the gift card, I set my budget as I narrowed down my search to the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ which runs Android 14 and has 128 GB storage and 8GB RAM.
When I opened the box to play with my new toy, I learned unlike the previous tablets, the new one doesn't include a charger! Damn you greedy Samsung.
At least I was able to play a few hours before needing to buy a charger the next day. After downloading Hay Day, Clash of Clans, and Squadbusters, I played them on a rotation to see the performance of the A9+. Per Device Care app, current storage is 103 GB and 4GB of available RAM. Images in Hay Day are no longer blurry and game no longer crashes.
I understand as a mobile game grows bigger, it must increase both the hardware and software requirements, but Team Hay Day should warn its players ahead of time instead of letting them discover it on Update Day! Since the buck stops here with the General Manager, I blame him or her for this debacle in miscommunication. Moreover, I'm sorry to state now I know HD's developers are suckier than Clash of Clans' because their recent update didn't crash my aging tablet and display blurry images unlike HD's recent update!
I tried to turn the other cheek, but Team Hay Day's incompetence or arrogance is still triggering me and your game isn't as chillaxing as it used to be. Thank the Game Gods for delivering SquadBusters which is competing for playtime from Hay Day.

lynnk2021 THX for sharing your experiences with some shortcomings from the game and additional your research for a new tablet. The specifications should be sufficient for some time. I am glad to notice you're also fond of Samsung devices. I decided a long time ago not to be tied to a closed system like Apple and instead enjoying an open system like Android. It's a very personal choice, Apple has surely it's advantages but I fail to see them for my usage. As I earlier stated I use already a longer time ago a Samsung Galaxy S8 Ultra with 14,6". It's like a little notebook, very comfortable and enjoyable. If the given specs will become scarce (which I expect will last some time) I won't hesitate to buy the best tablet from Samsung again. And yes, Samsung has become very greedy. I noticed this "behaviour" long time ago bc they pinch and scrape. The missing charger is the best example for that matter. Nevertheless I won't switch the brand. One time Samsung always Samsung. I made only the best experience with stability, reliability and of course connectivity. The specs are always ahead of the times. All things which are important for me and I won't miss. ๐
