With the guitar balloon needing 3 bacons, I ran low yesterday.
So much so, that I set an alarm four hours after bedtime in the middle of the night so I can collect them.
Anyone else did this?

No, sleep is more important in life. The bacon and guitar balloons are just pixels. And my farms produce enough bacon around the clock. Some things that might make farming a lot easier: - babyfarms - prepare prior - use Tom - use trading post - use oldies on cliff - have reliable trading friends that help when needed - manage your barn and make sure you always have enough primair products to make final ones

I was going to activate Rose, but I need narcoleptic Tom for sweaters, fish sandwiches and carrot cakes.

No, sleep is more important in life... Indeed, ducktown. IMO, Hay Day is fun way to escape from the real world temporarily, but it's an ephemeral and disposable game and not worthy of interrupting my precious sleep. I find I cannot function optimally during the day if I don't get a good night's sleep. To adapt to the Balloon Event, on my first login of the day, I collect bacons, feed the pigs, and make more pig feeds if necessary. When I log in later in the day which is usually more than 4 hours later, I repeat the same cycle. If I run out of bacon, the I'll use the Baby Farm or free Tom boosters.

Besides using Tom, when you make the products needed to make the things Tom brings you now during daytime, you can produce the actual end products at night. To be ready when you wake-up to pick up and ready for use to make the correct balloons. Repeat that till the end of the event and you will be able to get all items from catalog. it helps when your machines are fully developed and have all slots open. 😉

I was doing pretty well. Got some extra bacon in the paper before the event thanks to the early news of what ingredients would be required for the balloons. Kept my pigs producing. Took an animal feed derby task. Then, I took a boat derby task since I was going to be doing birthday event boats anyway…my 4th boat for the task asked for 🥓 🥓 🥓 bacon —- 28 of ‘em! Ack!

Yes, my boats are asking for “raw ingredients for balloons”? as well. Bacon, fish, apples, etc.

I also prepared for the event and collected extra bacon, goat milk and wool before the event started. The first days I got mainly the guitar ballons. But was no problem for me. I only collected the bacon during the day. Mainly on my main farm. Sometimes also on my baby. But that was enough. More than enough to be honest. On some days I already sold 20-30 to some friends. The sweater and the cake also works good for me. The only thing I am a little bit struggeling with is the fish burger. But until now I was able to manage this without Tom.
