Hi, just want to start a discussion about the rewards and the occasion. What are you planning to pick? How will you deco your farm?
What kind of festival is this anyway?
I researched, Labour day is a 5 day festival in China. Maybe as well in other countries?

Yes, it is a festival in Japan as I heard.
I bought the rustical birdhouse so far. I already have the picnic (was available for diamonds last year).
I haven't decided what else I want to buy. I first have to see how much I can get.
The event is a little bit disappointing. This event is only easy to do for really high levels.
The Kois are very equal to the xp. So every high level player can collect very fast many Kois. I saw a video from Phoebe (Content Creator). Her board was amazing. Really high tasks. Many tasks over 2000 or even 3000 points. She already collected over 200.000 only in the first day.
But for me: I get really low points like 200. I get 500-700. And with luck sometimes higher points over 1000.
But it is really bad for low levels. I saw a board from a farm in a level between 25 und 30. There a orders with only 10 points, 50 points. Most orders are with 100-200 points. And sometimes a bit more.
Hard to get Kois for what you want with this great gap between the levels.

I agree @squirrel ..I played this event on my main farm and thought this is sooo easy, I’ve already saved enough fish to get everything in the catalogue including the new stuff.
However, I’m also playing it on my baby farm ..much harder, smaller barn capacity and lower stocks of items .. almost like a different game.

squirrel I am also with you. My mainfarm is so to speak "done", no special efforts necessary, very easy to handle. This was the reason to change my mind, so it isn't a complaint. Though I have of course also the possibility to notice various requirements on my different farms. My little baby can forget to participate, the rewards are out of reach. I also don't complain bc I very rarely use my babyfarms for any events but I see the discrepancy. I am very sorry for little farms. If they don't attend day and night to truck orders they hardly success with nice rewards.

My main farm is Level 119 and while things went well on the first day I am now getting alot of (kind of) lower level orders, which for me is below 1000 points. Right now I need about 30 thousand points a day to get everything in the catalog I would like. It would be nice if I could get thirty 1000 pt orders a day. Here's hoping.🙂

It is like a complete different game. I was really shocked when I saw this. The discrepancy between the levels is so high. I don't understand why they decided to make the kois based on the levels but didn't change the amounts in the catalogue. Then it would be fair and doable for all. It's an event. It should make fun! Of course it is ok, if it is challenging. But not so hard, that it is impossible. Impossible for only a specific part of the players, while others can reach the whole catalogue. I hope SC listens to the players and will make it more balanced the next time.

@squirrel
My main farm is 266. Baby farm (now adult) is 109.
I think ease of play in this koi event is more relative to size of barn and amount of items available to complete the orders. The barn on my main farm is massive and fully stocked, whereas on my baby farm it’s tiny with hardly anything in it. Makes a big difference.

Today I noticed that they added two more pages to the catalog, with some extremely high-priced items, including two expansion permits for 60,000 fish:

LuvHayDay, I noticed this yesterday but thought I had just missed it the first day! I'm so glad you posted this.
It would have been nice if they had alerted players to the additions.
I was doing well until I saw the extra 100K points I needed (if I wanted these things, which I do). It's caused me some stress, I'll admit.😬

I'm certain it's new because I took screenshots of the original catalog, and the pages I showed definitely weren't there. Before seeing the new pages, I had enough fish for all the rewards I wanted and I had stopped doing truck orders. It's frustrating to think I was done and now suddenly have a huge number of additional fish to collect for the new rewards I want.

I saw the leaving in….x days and coming in …x…days. Didn’t check today, but I thought all of these were there. I do think the 1 puzzle piece for 10,000 and 2 for 40,000 (same with scrolls) is rather…weird. I know sometimes they raised the amounts of points we could get near the end of an event, right (?). But still….

I agree with you all as well. After the hint and the screenshot from LuvHayDay I checked again my gathered Koi points and recognized I have not enough, although I made already some truck orders. Obviously not sufficient. So, thanks for reminding me to raise my points properly. 😘🙂🌺

I consider the last two pages (added yesterday) as stretch goals they decided to throw in to try to keep some players active in the event.
The increase in cost of some prizes is typical in game design for stretch goals. In another game I play, one high-level item may require 300 event currency for the first unit, but 1000 event currency for a second unit. The first one is priced to be obtainable by the majority of players while the second one requires much more of a grind in the event and probably obtained by a small percentage of players. Similarly, expansion permits are available in the first section of this event at 2600 each, then rise to 15,000 and then 30,000 for additional scrolls.

I was wondering what had happened... I entered all the stuff I want in a spreadsheet a few days ago. Then yesterday I was looking in the catalogue and was thinking I must have missed stuff.

Unbelievable, the shops are empty! I think I‘m gonna ignore the new last page of the catalogue. I am wondering if they‘ll add more pages.

More items added at high cost.
60 0000 for couple permits or chick vouchers

I paged through the catalog when it first came out. Had a game plan of what I wanted : ) Yes!! They added items - I am very upset with this, I would have not purchased decos not really needed if I knew that the additional items are probably unattainable for me now sad

Unbelievable, the shops are empty! I think I‘m gonna ignore the new last page of the catalogue. I am wondering if they‘ll add more pages. I think the new page is ridiculous. Just laughable. A couple of scrolls are not worth that many products. About the original additional page I already thought it was weird the decos were so expensive. A second piece af an item would normally be same price or cheaper. Here it doubled the price. And for decos that are so very special there is little use for them on most farms. I don't understand how SC keeps misunderstanding which decos farmers are most interested in and will pay the most for. Or maybe it is just my list of priorities that is off compared to everyone else. Personally the two types of decos I value most - and therefore will pay the most for - are farm themed decos and seasonal decos as in winter, spring, summer and autumn. I just love the decos I have with snow and foliage.

Overall not a good timing from SC team. The intention was good, no doubt, and the first catalog was easy to manage, also with deco.
Problem now is deco wasn't cheap from the very beginning and by buying it you're surely missing Koi points for the updated catalog with permits etc. Bigger farms can achieve the goal nevertheless. Little farms will struggle, I think they have no chance. The gap is too great. I hope SC will realize that they have to do adjustments for further events.

Anthropomorphised animals are still my bug bear within Hayday 😅
So none of the decos particularly appeal
I would have loved the kites but the addition to it of the clothed chickens put me off
Got all the puzzle and permits and few other random ticket, coin and mining tool bits along with the tom card
If I'd have wanted the decos too (or had space for the chick vouchers) I can imagine it would have been much more of a slog
Now to slowly replenish the barn 😅

Unpopular opinion here. I'm pretty pleased with the catalogue. It covers pretty much these aspects: - it is never meant to be that *everyone* will be able to get *everything* offered. And that is good because it keeps the community counter going when farmers are working on their own goal. - at any level, farmes can have minimum amount thanks to community reward (6000 koi already secured, 4000 more if we reach 700 millions truck orders) to get something useful in the catalogue. - then, depends on their farm capacity, they could gather more koi fish to get more item or some deco. This is only limited by their level and barn capacity. Difficulties added when they level up during the event but wouldn't be able to get the new machines/products yet. - long time farmers who accumulated lots of barn space (I'm looking at 8000+) and have a good barn management strategy will be able to go way further and eventually get all the items they wanted without making compromises.
My goal is to get 288 000 koi, achiveable after 5 days for the main wish list. During the last 2 days, I'll decide what to get towards the end with what I could have gathered by then.
This kind of event, if well organised, shows players a purpose to keep going with barn space and learn ways to manage their barn. It also gives long time players a well-deserved advantage when their efforts after all these years finally pay off. Big satisfaction there.
But better not do this too often, it's kinda disruptive of the daily routine.

The barn on my main farm is massive and fully stocked, whereas on my baby farm it’s tiny with hardly anything in it. Makes a big difference. Oh, than your baby farm is also high. I think the biggest difference are the points. So you need so much more trucks on lower levels and that of course need much more products. For me the first catalogue wasn't easy to manage. I have all my must-haves and also some things I had on my "maybe" list. But I am far away from collecting all (like you can read from so many players). It is ok for me, because I have what I want. But I think this catalogue was so much harder to manage then the boat catalogues. For me the last page isn't an option. The prizes are weird! I don't want to go with this. I think if I want I could reach some items, but only with so much effort. And playing the whole day. And of course buying less things in the first part. But for me the last page is not worth so much effort and products. For little farms they already struggled with the first part and had to decide what they want and only where able to buy some things. I also hope SC will listen to the players and adjust it to make it more fair for all players.

I agree with Frog's take on the event. The addition of the last two pages of prizes increased the total koi fish needed from 323,980 to 523,980 and I think those were added to keep players that completed the event in the first few days to stay engaged and run more trucks if they wanted the new prizes. I didn't start with the event until after completing derby on Tuesday, and collected enough koi fish by Saturday morning. I have a decent barn for my level and also keep over 2,000 products stacked on the farm machines. Even so, I know from justhayday.boards.net/thread/317/legacy-measure-products-value-fixed and my own game experience that not all truck orders are equal, so I trashed just about any order that gave more coins than XP/fish and was still very selective on which high XP/fish orders I completed, taking into account my inventory of the requested items as well as how long it would take to replenish that stock. If you had infinite product inventory and just did every truck order that appeared, you'd spend 25%-50% more product to get the same amount of koi fish as a player that picked off only orders that gave more XP/koi per product than the base value, so there's a lot to be said about taking an efficient approach to doing trucks for events. While long-time players have an advantage in these kinds of events (by investing in developing their farm/barn/etc over time), there are other events like BEM/SEM/LEM trucks where lower level players give up less products/resources for the same EM rewards. Every event will have their own balance and it's up to the players to decide how involved they want to be in that particular event.
