Why on earth would I need to verify my age for hay day ? This is a new low for farming data

Yeah. It just popped up on my farm too. Others on our board have mentioned it before. I then made the “mistake” of reading the ‘see how we process your data’ and I am (once again) appalled. I shut down the app. Seriously considering the need for Hay Day. 😐

I used a fake age after it wouldn’t let me bypass after multiple shutdowns were unsuccessful
I don’t like the way SC abuse our rights by asking unnecessary personal questions

Supercell, like all reputable businesses, are bound by regulation and law (complicated by the internationalnature of gaming). Here's an extract from their "Parent's Guide", which may help explain the need to know a player's age: This tells me so they can market other games or services. Regardless of age they are not permitted to ask these questions. For all we know they attempted this with adverts previously which may have given them access to other games, cookies from our browser to be shared with a third party under the guise of sharing habits and access and personal details. There is always a motive behind these directions which makes my not trust these organisations |

It popped as well for me , this morning. THEN it’s IMPOSSIBLE to write an age. I tried pressing on the arrow to advance to my age. It didn’t budge!! I tried pressing the bar, hoping the keyboard would pop up. When nothing worked, I just pressed the green arrow, so I could get to my farm. Then I saw “3”. Now, they think I’m 3 years old!!! I sent an in game message, for them to correct my age. They replied, we can’t fix it bla, bla, bla. I’m so mad, I refuse to spend anymore money on this game. The last time, SC made me mad (it was the scroll gate)…… I didn’t purchase anything for over 2 years.
I did purchase the monthly farm pass, sometimes the extended passes as well. I DONE!!!

I'm truly sorry to hear of your problem. The popup has just happened on one of my baby farms, saying:  Whilst it starts at 3, it is possible to change it. Unusually, it's a slider so you slide it to the right until the age you wish to declare shows.   I hope this is helpful to other players who encounter it. |

Why the hell is Hay Day asking for my age just now when it asked me last year? I will NEVER EVER reveal my real age and slide my answer to 60+. I think Hay Day should offer 100+ and I will slide it there next time.
If my giving a fake age is a violation of Supercell's TOS, then I must say: Too bad so sad Supercell!

Cowslip I wish I had seen your post, before. Now Supercell thinks I’m 3 years old. I immediately contacted them through in game messages, to tell them there was a mistake. They replied, “They can’t change the age, to protect the children. I even told them, that I have been playing for over 10 years. If I was 3 years old, how could that be possible. If I was 3 years old, how could I write to them? If Nick comes here and tells us” To just chill”. I’m deleted my app and NEVER playing again.

I got hit with it this morning also, but my wife and her baby farm did not. I wish they had a NOYB option on that input box. Because it’s NOT any of Supercell, Tencent, or any of their third party “partners” business how old I am.
Another day, another nail. Sigh…

I just put 60+ which unfortunately now is the gods honest truth. Couldn’t care less if they know how old I am. But I do hope they don’t confuse 60 with 90 and start showing me ads for depends.  |

When going through the process of giving your age, there is an opportunity to "Read how we process your data here". That link takes you directly to Supercell's Privacy Policy. One paragraph there says:

When someone asks my age, I always ADD 10 YEARS to my real age. People say, “You look so good for your age.” I smile 😉 and say thank you.😈😉🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 LOL. The last time someone asked for my age and proof was a grocery clerk after scanning my bottle of Bloody Mary mix. I was tempted to say something snarky such as "I'd like to tip you for thinking I'm underaged" , but I realized the clerk was following orders from management to ask for ID even though the mix doesn't contain alcohol. The store was assuming I needed it to make a Bloody Mary drink, but I needed it to make gumbo.
I took out my ID and showed it to the clerk, bought it, and went on my way.

I still want them to include age ranges, like they did on a recent (today? yesterday?) feedback survey in Clash, as opposed to an exact number. That gives them an idea of the ages of their players/market, whatever, without getting overly personal. Then they know we’re not three, thirteen, or three hundred, maybe letting us avoid the Baby wipes AND Depends ads. 😂

Support are, apparently, "reverse-changing the incorrect ages of accounts" as a one-time exception, so it would be worth contacting them (again, if you have done so before and had an unhelpful response).
