When I logged in yesterday expecting to download the update, I was taken to the Google Playstore with the option to tap the Update button. I did and within a few minutes, download was completed and I expected to see the Play button like on previous occasions. But an Uninstall button popped up instead so that's something new. I tapped it since my game was protected by Supercell ID.
After game was uninstalled and I verified in my tablet's settings, I went to the Playstore to download HD. After a few minutes of downloading, the Play button popped up and I tapped it to login. Then a popup asked for my age. I was LOL and said aloud, "Finally Hay Day! You want to know my age so you may target your ads better to my age group. Alrighty then." With that in mind, I slid the bar from 3 to 60+ and gave a fake age because I never want to see another awful TikTok ad again.
I may be younger than springtime but I have no interest in using TikTok to broadcast my singing and dancing skills to complete strangers. Thank goodness my parents named me Lynn instead of Gene because I can't dance and sing my way out of a wet paper bag.

🤣🤣🤣 I have no problem singing or dancing in front of strangers 😆 tho not on TikTok (but then, I'm kind of a ham! 😄)

lol Im always walking with headphone singing out and aloud at home in my head I sound like Whitney Houston. My grandson told me I sound like his Italian Greyhound Pedro howling. 3 year olds are priceless. Like you Tahoe I’m a ham and like to have fun thanks Lynnk matey for the great laugh. Truely you have made my day

I feel it's more about child protection (family friendly language) rather than ad targeting purpose.

It could be either, or both?
I know in Clash they have different settings for clan chat restrictions if there is someone under 13 (?) or whatever age it’s set at, in the clan.
Kind of odd in HD, as it (still) often censors the weirdest words. Like “tree” in one case, lol.

Lynn, now I will never be able to get the image out of my head of you trying to do a TikTok dance challenge! 🙂🙂 LOL, I'd like to dance like Gene Kelly did in American in Paris. One way is if I were to summon the spirit of Kelly using dark magic and invite him to inhabit my body for a few minutes. But learning and using dark magic is risky so I must weigh the benefits versus the drawbacks. |

lynnk2021 Out of interest, I was wondering whether the question for your age was an exception, but obviously it's not the case. SC told me today analogously to ensure that HayDay remains safe and sound and therefore they require my age. I was at first a little bit surprised but instantly remembered a recent thread in the German forum. Without giving the requested information HayDay resists to be playable. Ok, you can think now what you want, whether their interests are ok or not - - - I also prefer to be cautious and set the bar to 60+ as well. I write this bc I think this will occur over the time to all members. I want you to be prepaired. Tbh, basically I appreciate if a game developer cares for safety etc., but to force members to give the information or otherwise prevent them from playing is not very nice. I find this behaviour questionable, at least.

(I hate it when sites ask for birthdate. Depending on the site, I often give a fake date when they do that. Assuming I won’t need support and they want to use it for identification and I can’t remember what I said it was, lol.)

When I logged into my Baby Farm a few minutes ago, the game asked me for my age. I chose 60+ for the same reason I gave in the OP.
Although I was tempted to choose 44 for forever young.

I feel it's more about child protection (family friendly language) rather than ad targeting purpose. I have never seen bad language on FB so they are doing a good job filtering. Everyone should be safe from bad language, not just young people. When I got the message for my age, I diffidently felt that it was for targeting purposes. |

I do watch those ads to cut production times especially for jams and I might get tons of ads on generic viagra, hair loss supplements, or medicare benefits. |

I usually see game ads, as well, which I don’t mind. (Except when they make you jump through hoops and hop to the App Store and whatever else before you can close the ad, lol.)
