Throught it might be worth consolidating tips based on our recent experience to make the event easier!

•Have all pets/ safari animals asleep with unfilled bowls/feeders
•Have all 5 smelters stacked with bars: 1 with only gold, 1 with only silver, etc, etc
•Have a decent supply of the basics (sugars, dairys, feathers, honey, etc) in order to produce other items as needed
•Take a gamble on things like jams/juices/sweets (groups 3 for jams/sweets and 4 for most juices)
•Don't load machines just before event starts as you'll likely need to load them with specific items
•Don't collect/feed production animals (especially long ones like goat/sheep) just before event starts in case you get a task to do just that

Based on Oktoberfest event, I would also add: Drop 4 lobster cage/ 4 ducks trap without collecting Load sugar mill with 7 brown sugar/ 5 sugar/ 4 syrup
For pet, what I do is keep 1 cat house/1 dog house/1 rabbit house /1 horse stable unfilled.
We will see tomorrow. Happy Moon festival!

Foe the who use Rose and/or Ernest, a quick way to deal with a task such as making sugar or collecting milk is to take the task and then sell stock from the helpers' tab. They'll then make it/collect it for you, even while you sleep.

When I DuckDuckGo Hay Day Mooncake Festival moments ago, I found a video published by GizmoSpike aka Jennifer about an hour ago. Since Supercell accepted her as a Content Creator who makes videos promoting Hay Day, she gets to look at the developer build weeks in advance so she may have time to produce the video. The drawback is that sometimes the dev. build doesn't contain the latest information, so she informed us verbally of the following.
Duration: 3 days: starts on Friday 29th of September and ends on Sunday, 1st of October.
Tasks per day: 20
Total tasks available: 60
Points needed to finish event: 9000
I'd like to suggest viewing GizmoSpike's video for some tips about preparing for the event. Good luck everyone.
EDIT on September 29, 2023: Game showing 3000 points instead of 9000 to finish event! WOW!

R3DKNIGHT’s video stated that it will last four (4) days with 20 tasks a day. It showed three (3) days but he said it changed to 4. I’m surprised we have had ALL THE NEW DECORATIONS! I’m running out of room. Good luck farmers 😉👍🏻

Please note R3DKNIGHT published his video about 14 hours ago. I'm speculating Team Hay Day decided to make last minute changes from 4 to 3 days and informed their Content Creators. In about 6 hours, we'll all know if the event will last 3 or 4 days. I'm hoping for 4 but will prepare for 3.

3 days, with 5 chick vouchers at 1300 points, that’s doable.
3000 points total needed for final threshold.
nice 4 jam for 80 points. 😂🤔
I think I can finish this event well in time, most likely 1 or 2 days.

So far my tasks have only been a few smaller ones mostly 120 and upward. Some I had stacked humming along well so far

I am going crazy over the blurred graphics. I hope it will be fixed really soon.
I am not going to participate. Until a few years back I always expanded my production lines to the max, so I have a lot of stacking going on. So to make say four cakes of some kind, I will have to move a lot of products to my barn. Unfortunately my barn is always almost full, so only way to finish a task is to sell a lot of products, that I had not intended to sell. The decorations this time is not worth the hassle imo. If it was Halloween or Christmas decorations I would be all in. But that is just me.
Good luck to all participants. I hope it goes more smoothly this time.

I have 3 still in the queue the six on the board are all ones that are going to take time to complete. There is a couple of wax candle double but placed one after another. I did follow the advice here had prepared so far sitting at 1390 completed. Seems much more balanced this time.

Hi guys. This go-round my tasks are amazingly generous. I’ve gotten so far:
Wake safari animals, 500 Feed cows, 450 Feed pigs, 450 and the other tasks are all over 100 or 200 points with the exception of a “collect 3 grape jam” for 80 which popped in after the safari task.
Some of the other tasks I’ve done were collecting things that I had stacked. Luck of the draw indeed.
I’m with some others though. I preferred the (premium) Oktoberfest rewards by far. Just generally the rewards are few and the contest is short…and I don’t know whether to be grateful or grumble about this last.😆 To be clear, I saw and was surprised by the length of the rewards chain before I noted the tasks or the point total. It was in fact the shortness of the chain that had me checking those other two factors.
I’m playing it but feeling a wee bit of disappointment. 🤷♀️ Can’t please people, eh?😆

I'm going to quickly grab these 5 chick vouchers before they're deemed a "bug" and the reward is changed to a single chick voucher or... a map piece

I wasn’t one bit excited to see this moon event to be honest. The Oktoberfest event ruined it for me.

As already mentioned...the mooncake event is easily doable, no comparison with the difficulties from the Oktoberfest. On one hand I am happy to notice that SC obviously took the complaints from the users to heart but on second thoughts it's still a pity.
The mooncake event is nice, yes, but the rewards don't knock my socks off. Of course, that's my opinion. Hence I decided to stop until I reached the vouchers. Normally I am not very eager for them though. But 5 in one shot can't be neglected. 😉

I don’t understand the rationale behind hay day putting out these events that cause us to grind our play to a halt. Weird.
Also I’d never heard of mooncakes and don’t care about these decos, but the chick vouchers are okay.

I will also try and participate in this event for sure. It’s just my initial and raw spontaneous reaction towards seeing this type of event changed dramatically. you know it’s a similar feeling as finding the last of your rarest expansion item to finish an upgrade or open a box and finding diamonds and such which I had when Oktoberfest first started before knowing the changes yet. I certainly did not have this exciting feeling anymore when first seeing the moon cake

Before the event started, I had an odd mix of excitement and dread. More dread than excitement.
The Oktoberfest format change really threw me for a loop. It took me 3 days before I realized I could still take tasks from the board when the Queue tracker said I had 0 tasks left. As a result, I missed earning points early on. At least now I have a feel for how this is supposed to work.
Sources of my dread:
1. 3 days long 2. 9,000 points required for top deco (which would require playing 24 hrs per day) per Gizmospike's pre-event video. 3. Getting terrible/impossible tasks (jam maker, preservation station, feed pigs)
Luckily, my farm is well-equipped, and I have lots of inventory. I also have baby farms to help out my main farm. This would be a lot harder for lower level farms, especially if some machines are missing.
Feeling dread for a game that is supposed to be RELAXING and FUN is bad game design.
Luckily, SC dropped the points to a manageable level (only 3,000 points). I am also getting tasks with higher points.
I also took the advice from this thread to prep: 5 white sugar, 7 brown sugar, hungry animals, duck/lobster traps ready, etc.
So far, after just a few hours, I am done with the first 6 awards. I just have the Tom and Mooncake deco left. I should be done today or early tomorrow, without spending diamonds.
So, the dread is fading away. It will require a couple more successful events to prove to me that SC isn't rolling out impossible events or events that require spending diamonds. I need to relearn that I can trust SC. After that, I welcome events like this that provide just excitement (no dread).

I'm at 2000 points and the points left in my que easily add up to the last 1000 needed to complete I've even engaged my baby farms this time as it seems very much doable even with them being so low level 😁

3000 points instead of 9000 to finish event?
I can't believe the above delightful surprise when I logged in this morning! I was preparing to grind out 9000 points by completing an average of 20 tasks per day with an average of 150 points. Unlike the recent Oktoberfest event, we know at the beginning of the journey how many tasks are available so we may prepare both mentally and physically.
Thank you Team Hay Day for designing Mooncake Festival easier than Oktoberfest, IMO. I will have fun. And good luck everyone.

Tip from Facebook group for new farmers or baby farms that have 3 or 4 safari animals wake them but don't feed them, the night before event starts. If you get feed 5 safari animals for 500 points, then take task, feed them, they will eat twice in a row. That way It makes it possible to do that task. Not wake up 5 but feed 5.

I am thrilled with the event! I may have a bee as my forum avatar, but I am totally a bunny person. Year of the Rabbit!!! So, the moon cake festival is right up my alley. For those who may not know the story, the “rabbit in the moon” cleans the moon. I agree with the suggestions for setting yourself up for success in this type of event. Having learned from hard experience, I immediately … 🐰woke up any of my pets who were sleeping with full feed bowls, 🐰checked to make sure I had metal bars stacked (hoping to avoid the dreaded platinum), 🐰made sure to stock sanctuary animal feed and checked to see that some animals were sleeping with no meal waiting for them, 🐰did NOT collect anything from machine stacks (I keep short stacks and can see what’s in them). This paid off since I got an orange juice task and a raspberry candle task and had 2 of each in the stack. I’m going to follow arzea’s advice to put out some duck and lobster traps. I have quite an extensive zen garden, but I’m going to need to expand to accommodate the Moon Festival. Ordinarily, I would use the Dibley Fields party garden to set up a special event, but the Oompa pig band has a contract that runs for another few weeks in that venue, and they don’t want to move.

I wasn’t one bit excited to see this moon event to be honest. The Oktoberfest event ruined it for me. You can always find that last piece of rare items you need on my farm. To maintain your excitement, it is very very well hidden . *hugs with macaron*

But if you have over the limit, could it be that you won't have Chick voucher on next month farm pass? Another way around is to wait till October Far m Pass started, then collect.
