I don’t know what the problem is. Probably several factors. They gave us back the four days but we took in approximately 10 million less pounds than the last time we had only three days. I too didn’t fish for two of the four days because the pond was needed for other stuff. But I’ve welched on a couple days before and still the prize was attained. And I took in almost 300 pounds anyway. I did stop trying for the competition fish. For those I did get, I had to cast between 8 and 13 times before the right circle appeared and then the wrestling…😖 and TWICE the line snapped and all that effort was for nought. It just wasn’t worth it. After a while I just took whatever fish came. Otherwise, it was too frustrating and time consuming. So again I don’t know. Fewer people playing the game? Less engagement with the mini-games? Too many mini games at the same time? Cynicism/eroded hope because of the frequent losses? SC’s persistent over-estimation even given all the data they have? The frustrating fishing mechanics? (okay this one is just for me 🤷♀️😏) All of the above, and perhaps more? In addition to your list, I've noticed that it seems less players are participating on weekends, when several of these events are ending. I know that my friends and followers are not as active during this time as well. |

There was alot going on with the rainbow event as well. I was really glad that we had opted out of the derby.
I did around 200 lb of fish but really I don’t always have time to be constantly in the game and that was the case the last few days.
I mostly open my farm twice a day, sometimes more but it is a game not a way of life.
My baby farm is really only used to get town visitors fir my main farm as I do not have time to do both.

My main farm fully participates in most global events. My two baby farms do not. They don't need the deco or the diamonds.
A number of factors are contributing to our failures - award isn't motivating, unpopular event activity, too many other things to do in the game, expect another event miss, and more. My feeling is HD is overestimating the number of actual players. Given the ever growing list of products requiring dairy and sugar, current players are having to add baby farms. This skews the number of farms and the event goal.
I would like HD to spend some time analyzing their customer base and missed events so they can set more achievable goals.
Otherwise, I find myself deciding to participate only if I am planning to do the event task for other reasons (derby truck task, need more fish fillers, etc.).

I’m on a road trip and incredibly busy, along with spotty wifi that keeps crashing repeatedly in games. I did manage all the fish and then some, over a few days. We were on track when I looked, but I know it slows down the last couple of days.
I was a little disappointed (I try not to get my hopes up too much most times now.). The deco was super cute, but I couldn’t do more. I probably wouldn’t have done much more anyway, even if I wasn’t busy, knowing we’ve missed so many lately. Unless *everybody (well, a huge majority) is really motivated, it’s just not going to fly so it’s not worth doing the work of three or four players. I only have one farm.

I've been traveling this last week too so couldn't be as active, only managed 77 lbs of fish. I still haven't figured out the trick of getting large fish either. Seems no matter the hole size, most fish I catch are only 2 to 3 lbs. I did hope we'd make the goal, the deco was cute.

If the inner circle is small, sometimes I get a 2 lb fish, sometimes 3, sometimes 4. If the inner circle is large, sometimes I get a 2 lb fish, sometimes 3, sometimes 4. 🤷♀️ I can't figure out what the thread is suggesting but it really doesn't seem to make any difference. It's whatever though. |

For the event fish the circle has to be the size where the fish will just fit in, so the line of the circle doesn’t touch the fish. If it’s smaller or bigger let go of your line and start again. Most of the times within 3 throws you will get the correct ⭕️. Only works during special fish event.

pink lures have the best chance for me to catch the heavy-weight event fishies, not so much green lures and for sure not the red lures, but then I am not the most patient angler. I throw the bait no more than 3 times before going to another place to let it reset.

Just checked how close we could be. With 13 1/2 hours left we need 12,500,000. I’ll round it to needing 1 million each hour. It’ll be close, IMO. Seems as though activity will slow down rather than speed up. Both of my farms participated. The baby farm made it to the global threshold. My main farm is now at 250+, and still going. (Thank you to my hoodmates that supply me with townies 🤗 )  |

When the event ended 10 hours ago, I believe the correct total is the one reported by ducktown. But I just checked the event board and the revised total is 63,089,248 which is an increase of 2464! |

Good work to all fellow farmers 👏 I continued on after my personal goal.
Mentioned before, and I followed this advice, sent away townies wanting 3 buildings and did not have an animal badge.
Anyone find if you serve a townie with 3 buildings, you receive a better award than 2 buildings?
