I can't contain my eggcitement about the recent news coming out of Supercell. Let's begin with the recent annual blog posted by Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen on February 14, 2023.

Clash of Clans responded by posting a job announcement for a Senior Game Designer recently, supercell.com/en/careers/senior-game-designer-clash-of-clans/1220476/. I hope he or she will join Team CoC soon and elevate the game to the next level.
Supercell tweeted the following less than 24 hours ago about their studio in Shanghai.

Supercell is seeking 6 people to fill the above positions to work in Team Clash Mini. Good luck everyone. So glad Supercell is supporting their studio in Shanghai with more resources to ensure global launch of the first game since the founding of the Shanghai studio in 2018.
Some of you are wondering, "But Lynn, what about Team Hay Day? Why aren't they hiring developers to grow their team?" I'm speculating the following. Team Hay Day don't want to be constricted by being a small team and developing their creation with one hand tied behind their backs. This modus operandi worked well in the past but doesn't work anymore so Team Hay Day must adapt. Now Team Hay Day's current rapid growth has been fueled by existing employees moving from other game teams to develop HD so Supercell doesn't need to post job announcements for Hay Day.
Again, the above are my speculations which I hope are true. ;-)

...As I wrote about last year, a big mistake (my responsibility!) was that, for the longest time, we applied the same thinking on team size to both new and live game teams. Our live teams have grown a lot and continue to grow, but we are still not where we ought to be and we’ll continue to push on this front. There’s a combination of two factors that necessitates scaling a live game team:
1. As the game gets older, there are more areas that need to be modernised and rethought with fresh thinking for today's players
2. As the game gets bigger, there are more new things made possible that would be great on top of what's come before...

Clash Mini is one of our newest games currently in beta. The game team in Shanghai is looking for even more new people on their journey to global launch!
