The other valley, where you collect up to three animals then deliver them to the zoo, I get it. This valley, I get chickens here and there, then what? What is the point? It's slow to collect points and it happens to be this time, I can get up three scrolls.

Farmers must pick up enough chickens (100 for this valley season) to open up the special items to buy (under the 2nd tab after you click the cash register) at the end of the valley season.

Go to the valley, click the cash register and then the 2 nd tab. You will see at the top the number of chickens that been collected/how many are needed. Below that are the 3 things you can choose to buy at the end of the season, if enough chickens were collected and if you have enough tokens

But some players don't like it because the animals escape or the truck break down before the delivery is made. With the chickens running in the valley, they are counted in the total when they are picked up and not when they are delivered. It takes longer to collect the tokens to buy stuff, so I focus first on doing three spins daily and then travel to the shops to exchange my goods for tokens. I conserve fuel by picking up chickens on my way to the shops and won't go out of my way to pick up chickens on the peripheral of my screen. By playing the Valley as often as daily to 4 times a week, I've been placed in valleys with active players and we always collected more chickens than needed in three weeks or less. ==Lynn==

Same here lynnk2021,
I prefer the animals to the chickens. Been in the valley everyday and so far not 1 chicken. I always make sure I park at a fuel station when I am finished so when I go back in the valley I usually get free fuel π

I always make sure I park at a fuel station when I am finished so when I go back in the valley I usually get free fuel π The Chicken one is always like this, hardly any chickens at the beginning then loads later on. I try to only use the fuel I need to do the daily tasks, then let the fuel build up for later in the 'season' (but it takes a bit of self control as I like driving around the valley! ). I too prefer the animals, however, I like that it alternates with something else, then I'm glad to have the animals back, I think it would get boring if they were the only option. It IS a different strategy, so it helps stop it getting boring, I think!

Yes, I prefer gathering sanctuary animals because token accumulate faster and I can buy more items, but do agree SmallChange, that because the chicken valley requires a different strategy that helps reduce valley boredom.

Our hood loves the sanctuary animal valley as well, so far this valley I think one hood member has found a chicken, but somehow the chicken threshold is always met. So finding chickens has not been our priority. VJ thatβs a really good strategy to park in front of the fuel stations, weβll have to keep that in mind.

Okay. The valley ended. We got like 240 chickens. There was nothing I can do with the chickens we collected. Not enough? What was the point rounding up all these chickens.

While in the Valley, did you move your truck from building to building, filling each βorderβ? Thatβs what gives you the red, green and blue tokens. With those tokens you can βpurchaseβ items such as expansion scrolls and puzzle pieces. At the end of the Valley season, you can choose from what I call the Big Ticket items. Those consist of Diamonds, a special Deco and Booster cards. However, you need to have at least 1050 of each color token. (At least I think itβs 1050).

The chicken valley was the first valley they introduced to us. There was never any "reason" to collect them other than a count towards a total number. If I remember correctly the count was much higher, I think it was 250. Then they dropped it to 200.
If the valley members met their total number then you get the "Special Awards" unlocked. That was the only reason for chicken collection, since the beginning and hasn't changed since (except the total dropped to 100 because 200 was nearly impossible back then).
Think of this similar to a global event. When the group as a whole complete enough of the requirements, then they have unlocked the global reward, but the individual must meet a specific requirement as well. In this case you would need to have collected enough gems to purchase the "special rewards".
They eventually added the sanctuary valley in my opinion not so much to change it up, but because it gave players a better chance at gaining enough gems to get the special rewards.
All this being said, you don't have to play the valley at all. It's clearly a choice. Should you decide to play the valley, it is not required that you shoot for the big prizes. During chicken valleys I tend to get as many scrolls as possible. Although it's always less than a sanctuary valley. During those I always get everything needed, scrolls, puzzle pieces, blueprints etc.
If you're trying to get both the "special rewards" and scrolls, you best option is to gain as many fuel perks as possible daily, keep filling orders to get gems, by the end you should have enough for both. But probably not all the scrolls.
Hopefully this helps you with future chicken valleys. Good luck.
