People - do not be fooled by the wording. This is WRONG on so many levels! SC KNOWS that many kids play this game and they will be fooled into tapping 'Accept' because of the freebies. BUT these freebies are NOT worth what they are requiring in return! The Device identifiers are the unique identification for your device, and with the PLURAL they are using much more is being sold than anyone in their right mind would ever agree to normally. You probably are not aware, but SC collects just about EVERYTHING you do/have on your device, they can see what profiles are on it, what you're doing with your device and when .... go and collect your info, ask them to send you what they have on file for you. It's scary and disgusting, the amount of data they keep on file! And now they want to sell that? They do not 'just share'.... this information is being sold for money, and A LOT of it too! And then the sentence that 'they may also use and share your device identifiers for fraud detection and prevention purposes'.... MAY? So: selling information for ads is more important than keeping our accounts safe? Thank you but no thank you. I had this screen come on this morning and my boyfriend saw it [he's in IT and security]. His first remark was: "Ok, so that is going to be deinstalled!!!" SuperCell is really crossing the line with this. This is also an invasion of privacy, even when a large part of the playerbase doesn't see/get it. It might even be on purpose - and that scares me even more. What a HUGE letdown this is .... “ The Device identifiers are the unique identification for your device”.
Thank you! I told a friend last night that I believe that it includes exactly who the device is registered to. If not, it is surely just a hop - forget the skip and the jump - to those unknown entities finding out who and where we are. Not even for the whole game would I do that, much less a few decos on the side. Absolutely not worth it to me. EDIT: I believe the “on purpose” is because now they want permission to do what they will with the data (sell it, licence it, lease it) outside of what is required for me to play the game, and them to maintain it. As you’ve intimated - a whole different ball game.

What has bothered me for some time is, the parent company TenCent is based in China. Nothing against the people that live there of course, but there have been fairly recent privacy and security questions raised from the US government, Homeland Security, etc toward other Chinese based companies. DJI drones, for example.
Don’t know what to think anymore. Or who to trust.

So, coming back to everyone with the information you would like to have. 1. Collected data only refers to Device Data, no other personal data is collected. We do not share your identifiers, such as name or email. We only share the device ID, advertising ID and the IP address of your device, which we consider personal data under privacy laws. This data is shared with your consent so that our ad partners can deliver the right ad and optimize the ad content to make sure you don’t see the same ad multiple times. Also, the partners use the data to prevent fraud and abuse, e.g., to prevent fraudulent ads from being shown. If you see any ads that are bad in your opinion, please ping me about this! 2. We do not share the data to any others than the network partners listed in our privacy policy, these partners are responsible for the ads. They will not be used in any other way, they will not be sold or even shared in any other shape or form. If you have more questions, feel free to ask, I am here for you Guys as always. ~Cheers Chris

And the 'preventing fraud and abuse' why is that not more clearly written? Also: I want an option to just choose 'Decline' and have it over and done with. This choice should be registered. Don't put that ticket in the middle of my farm in this terrible spot [if you use the mailbox and have fat fingers] UNTIL SOMEONE CLICKS OR TAPS ACCEPT. That counts as misleading and stalking. If I decline, I decline. If you don't want me to see the tickets then, fine - don't show them AT ALL until I change my mind. It is that simple and yes, that's simple to code. And what is this about people who have declined or opted out and have the option ENABLED again next time they logon? That shouldn't happen either. I got this request on two of my farms and declined. Turns out that on my third farm this option had been enabled .... now it's disabled, but how and why was this enabled by itself?

I appreciate your being so responsive to our concerns and taking the time to explain the situation. I have a few questions: 1. SC’s privacy policy states: “These partners may access your data and operate under their own privacy policies.” Doesn’t that mean that the partners could sell my device ID etc. to other companies, who may use it for unknown purposes? (One of the partners has a reputation for using peoples’ personal information widely.) 2. SC’s privacy policy also states: “We may also combine and share data we have collected about you with third-party advertising partners. These advertising partners may use this data (and similar data collected from other services) for purposes of delivering targeted advertisements to you when you visit third-party services within their networks. These partners may operate under their own privacy policies.” Am I right that “third-party advertising partners” are different from the partners who would be providing in-game ads? If so, I’d have no idea who would be getting my information and how they might use it. 3. SC’s privacy policy also states: ”Supercell also works with a number of other analytics and ad serving partners within our mobile apps, websites and elsewhere online. These partners can use cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies to collect or receive data about you and might claim controller rights over your personal data.” What does it mean that the partners might “claim controller rights” over my personal data? What could they do with it? Thank you very much!

So I must unfortunately intervene here again. Child protection: Ads can be disabled by parents. Accounts of players under 13 years old do not have ads in general, they are disabled by default that and the shop. -> If you have disabled the ads and still get them please write me your farm # and a screenshot. This is a problem we are investigating. If you see inappropriate ads report them to me and we will take care of it.

Was reluctant to say ok, but am very disappointed with the adds I am seeing. Slot machine adds, this a family game and they have NO place here. They are very hard to close and am getting up to four adds for a stick of dynamite. I will be clicking no adds now.

These partners can use cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies to collect or receive data about you and might claim controller rights over your personal data.” What does it mean that the partners might “claim controller rights” over my personal data? What could they do with it? Thank you very much! The section you refer to concern cookies and other similar technologies that may identify visitors and in certain cases enable targeted advertising. It does not relate to the in-game ad update in Hay Day and the consent popup. So, this part of the privacy policy is separate from the update in Hay Day and has not been changed. Like most online services, we and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to provide and personalize services, analyse use, target advertisements and prevent fraud. This data is information about users' interactions and pseudonymized device identifiers. To “claim controller rights” means that these partners are independently responsible for processing the data and to make sure they use the data in accordance with laws. These partners operate under their own privacy policies listed in supercell.com/en/partner-opt-out/, that also explain how they process data. Some of the listed partners only operate locally. You can opt-out of cookie-based tracking and manage your preferences in your mobile device and through browser settings. We cannot speak on other companies’ behalf, but to our understanding and based on the privacy policies describing how the partners use the data, the companies do not sell data. These companies are also responsible for compliance with applicable laws and thus could not sell the data without your knowledge. For example, Meta expressively states in their privacy policy: “We don't sell any of your information to anyone, and we never will. We also require Partners and third parties to follow rules about how they can and cannot use and disclose the information we provide.” I hope that answers your questions and concerns =) ~Chris

I came here, concerned, also, and have appreciated all the information. Earlier in the thread someone - Bauldersgate? Chris? Mentioned device level tracking. (My apologies for not going back to quote you.) I have location services off on my device, but thought I better recheck my settings. I am guessing it’s my own fault, but this is what I found: (still working on this)
As I’m not good at image sharing here, I’m not sure this will show up. I’ll edit this if it doesn’t work. Anyway, my point is to encourage other people to double-check their privacy settings as SC and Hay Day may have crept in without you realizing it. I had declined ads and was frustrated by the whole thing as I frequently pay money in the game and didn’t want this sort of targeting via the movie tickets. It is a huge turn off to me that they have instituted this way of making money. The farm pass and decos for sale are a different matter to me, and I like them. So, be sure to check your device settings if you have opted out of the ad tracking, as Hay Day may still be tracking you.

If you are free 2 Play or payed before 90 Days you need to watch the Ads for the rewards but only when you click on the Movie Ticket and the Cinema opens Data is shared.

Do not be fooled by the term 'device identifiers'.... The company tracks E V E R Y T H I N G you do on your device. They might not 'trade' or 'exchange' all of it.... but every company that gets access is one too many. Man, this game, and maybe the company, really is going down the path of money grabs. And if they can't get your money, they prey on more data ... Very, very disappointing. Disgusting is a better word. No real information or anything anywhere, just some loose answers here and there about parts and tidbits.... One of the reasons they needed to shut the forums down ey - too much organization from those few educated users...

If I am reading this correctly, if we make in-game real money purchases, for 90 days we can access the tickets and get rewards without having to watch any ads. So no tracking and no data sharing. If 90 days expire without another purchase, the ads are activated and there is data sharing if we want the rewards. Also, for persons who play and have never purchased, the ads and data sharing are always activated for rewards. Is that correct, Chris? And, while we wait for Chris to hopefully see this post and respond, has anyone who purchased, for example, the Farm Pass or a recent diamond or other offer found this to be true? To be true, I would expect that the data sharing option in the game Settings has been disabled but when you click on your tickets you get the rewards without watching any ads. If you have to have the data sharing option enabled to get anything, even without the ads popping up, please share that information if you will. SC may not be data-sharing at that point but it would be good to know as it would be very easy to forget to turn it off again after 90 days, and then watch ads without thinking because it’s what we have been accustomed to.

I just gave it a try... Bought this month's farm pass and have made other purchases within the past 90 days (including other farm passes). The sharing option in advanced settings was not selected. Tapped the ticket then accepted. No ads, just four items, and now the advanced setting is selected.
I can't figure out if this means selecting "Accept" data sharing doesn't really data share, due to recent purchases. If so, then why does one have to accept it? I think it does mean, though, that once 90 days with no purchases are past, then if one hasn't deselected the advance setting and forgets to, then data sharing begins (which is somewhat sneaky IMO).
