Looks like you have to share your data now to pick up movie tickets? Anyone else have this issue?

Just came on to ask this very same thing. I declined and the pop-up remained.
The cynic in me goes: ooooh that’s why the movie prizes got so much better. 😏

Looks like you have to share your data now to pick up movie tickets? Anyone else have this issue? Yes, and why put a "decline" when you can't That is so invasive, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Other players can see what we post? Has it always been that way?

What do you mean “players can see what we post”, xkitty ? In-game? EDIT: Do you mean as per the privacy policy? If so I think they mean when you write on the NH message board but I could be very wrong. It is a very open statement, deliberately so I would wager, so that it can capture seen and unforeseen situations.

I accepted, I think we had to do that also long time ago. Main farm that bought with real money in the past got 4 rewards instead of 2, didn’t have to watch any ads. Baby also got 4 but I did have to watch ads.
Tent is gone as possible reward, now it’s the purple/pink tree.

I really don’t remember having chosen to let SC give my “device identifiers” to “select partners” (one of whom I suspect will be Tencent and who knows who the others are); if so they are being very generous in allowing me to backtrack when they already have my consent.😏 Well I appreciate the opportunity to say “no” this time around. All I need now is for them to remove the tickets from my farm. I have no need for them and they will quickly become an irritant when I inevitably tap them and the pop-up pops up.

Accept (to remove the notice from blocking you) then: Click settings Click Adv. Settings Scroll right to bottom of the page and uncheck the advertising box

Thank you, BauldersGate! Do you (or anyone else) know exactly what will happen if I agree to this? Will it only allow advertising with the movie tickets, or could the “selected partners” use my information for other purposes?

Thanks BauldersGate . I tried it on a baby farm with the tickets available. In order to rid myself of the tickets, I would have to accept then watch the ads (giving them the consent and info they seek) and then - I guess - delete my advertising account. But the terms relating to deleting the account say 1. that they may or may not be able to delete all of the information and 2. probably not right away, etc. etc. etc. In other words, they will for some undetermined period have and may give away - without consequences - information that can identify me to corporations I do not know. I sincerely hope that SC will remove the tickets for people like me. I am not going to say yes to this, and the tickets are in an inconvenient spot on the farm.

I'd hope as it specifically says "for ad personalisation" That its literally just that, the things you've clicked on on platforms like amazon finding their way into your ads in other places They have a little blurb on the supercell website that might be worth a read through; supercell.com/en/privacy-policy/#THE-DATA-WE-COLLECT

LuvHayDay I try a translation from the note from SC, it was originally posted in the German HayDay forum. "Supercell would like to use your device code and share it with selected partners to optimize ads and to offer advertising which could be interesting for you. You can disable it anytime in the game settings.
Additional it's possible that your device code çan be used and shared for fraud detection and - prevention. More you can read in the privacy guidelines".

My guess would be that Supercell want our consent for such ads like we are experiencing them already. For example here, proboards, our hoster. Of course it's a personal thing. If you are not fine with it like BostonGirl...which I fully understand, you can reject. As for me I will agree and subsequent disable the gathering from information in the game settings, as already posted.

Thanks for trying to reassure me BauldersGate. I do believe, subject to correction, that those are the very latest (changed) privacy policy terms and they don’t change my mind. I accept that I am in the minority. My privacy is ripped away - for example - as soon as I use a bank for any purpose. That I have chosen to live with because on the scale that I use, the pros outweigh the cons. That is not the case with this. I’m not upset. I understand and gracefully accept that I will no longer get any gifts from advertising. I would like SC to exhibit similar grace, respect my decision, and not keep the tickets I shall not use on the farm.

But when I “agreed”, I was given access to the ads. I didn’t watch. I went straight to settings and disabled data sharing. When I went back out to the tickets, the pop-up was back and I couldn’t see the ads. Unless that’s a major glitch, the system seems to require that your information be sold and that the unused tickets will stay on the farm. Let’s all hope that something just isn’t working the way it should but in case it’s all copacetic (ha!) just remove the tickets from the opted out farms. I remember that SC had to bring back the tickets for those of us that had bought in-game packages, so there is no question it can be done.

Dear member, THX so much for your input. I wasn't aware of that. I thought it would be easier, but it seems that I was wrong. Special thanks to BostonGirl for your detailed explanation. I have to wait how it's working for me tomorrow as I took the tickets before the update took place. But after the description from BostonGirl I have no choice. Either all or nothing. I'm not pleased.

I clicked “decline,” and the movie ticket is still there, but when I click on it I get the same pop-up asking me to accept or decline. So there doesn’t seem to be any way to see ads without clicking ”accept.” So that must not be what you meant. Could you please clarify what you meant by “usually they show you ads regardless”?

On any given website, platform or app adds are usually a feature If you have your phone or computer on its tightest settings and say no to all the 'personalised cookies' those adds are still there they're just not determined by your previous activity

Are you saying that the partners SC would share my information with would only be able to use it for the purpose of showing me personalized ads when I go to their websites? I’m particularly concerned about this paragraph in SC’s privacy policy: ”Supercell also works with a number of other analytics and ad serving partners within our mobile apps, websites and elsewhere online. These partners can use cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies to collect or receive data about you and might claim controller rights over your personal data.” I don’t know what it means that the partners might “claim controller rights” over my personal data, but I don’t like the sound of it.

I would think this particular paragraph means what we’re already doing. We can go to a farm, and look at some of the stats of the other players, right? We can visit their farms and see things like animals and machines active or not, etc. Messages would be the game chat and notes. ? i don’t mind SC knowing a couple of things about my device in case my account ever gets “lost” and someone else is logging in somewhere else. Or however they do that. But Amazon, etc., doesn’t need to know that I play HD and what my level is, and what device I play it on, etc. 🤨 Are there any lawyers, advertisers, (CMs?) out there who can clear up the muddy waters? I understand what Bauldersgate is saying about the personalized ads. But that’s about it, lol.

People - do not be fooled by the wording. This is WRONG on so many levels! SC KNOWS that many kids play this game and they will be fooled into tapping 'Accept' because of the freebies.
BUT these freebies are NOT worth what they are requiring in return! The Device identifiers are the unique identification for your device, and with the PLURAL they are using much more is being sold than anyone in their right mind would ever agree to normally. You probably are not aware, but SC collects just about EVERYTHING you do/have on your device, they can see what profiles are on it, what you're doing with your device and when .... go and collect your info, ask them to send you what they have on file for you. It's scary and disgusting, the amount of data they keep on file! And now they want to sell that? They do not 'just share'.... this information is being sold for money, and A LOT of it too!
And then the sentence that 'they may also use and share your device identifiers for fraud detection and prevention purposes'.... MAY? So: selling information for ads is more important than keeping our accounts safe? Thank you but no thank you.
I had this screen come on this morning and my boyfriend saw it [he's in IT and security]. His first remark was: "Ok, so that is going to be deinstalled!!!"
SuperCell is really crossing the line with this. This is also an invasion of privacy, even when a large part of the playerbase doesn't see/get it. It might even be on purpose - and that scares me even more. What a HUGE letdown this is ....
