I feel like many, many people have been asking for YEARS to have a town update. Chris [Supercell] . Can you let us know if Supercell has given up on the town or if we should still hold out hope? Is there anything you can tell us about why Supercell would ignore the town for so many years while players beg and beg and beg for town updates? Is the town just really not all that popular and those of us that like it are just a very small minority?

I would love to see an update for town, but Imo town is such a strong part of the game now, adding more to it might be hard with out removing something else to balance the addition.

Would love improvements in the town. It is my fave feature of the game. So crossing fingers and hoping. 🤞💕

I also ask and ask for enlarging town and getting rid of the silly animal safari! Those animals are taking over everything. I avoid them as much as possible. It has gotten insane with the number of animals crammed into that space. Oh course it did get enlarged with a snow area but, it just looks silly right next to green growth. Gah!

I don't think they care what the players want. First of all, welcome marcialeu52 to JHD. I think Team Hay Day (THD) should care what we players want if our ideas would motivate us to play longer sessions and more often. Conversely, THD should ignore our ideas if they shorten the lifespan of HD, IMO. Here are two examples I can call recall when we suggested ideas on the now defunct Supercell forums. The previous Community Manager informed us THD would do a Q&A session by soliciting one question per member in advance. When a member posted that the game should have a maximum and a minimum button for selling our goods so we didn't need to depress and hold the + or - buttons to raise or lower the price, the CM replied that it won't be implemented and the member should ask another question. His uncharacteristic bluntness was jarring to me because his usual reply was not to say no to an idea but that it was "ruled out for now". Eventually, THD implemented the maximum and minimum price buttons. The next example is when THD introduced the Derby and several forum members who were competitive in derbies wanted to see which neighbors participated, how many tasks they took, and how many points they contributed. IIRC, the CM said THD won't implement this feature because it would "cause stress in neighborhoods." Per posts from hardcore derbyists who formed derby focused neighborhoods, they used third party apps such as Line to share screenshots of their completed tasks. IOW, even though THD refused to implement the controversial feature, players found a workaround to get the derby data about their teammates from their teammates. Eventually, the game allowed everyone to see how everyone contributed to the derby. I'm speculating the following. After THD implement new features, their Data Scientists will review the game data and inform THD how it affected player activity. I'm sure THD was worried about allowing us to see players' contributions to the derby, but many players using various channels pressured THD to implement it. I think it worked out as more people played the derby because of the controversial feature which didn't seem so controversial in retrospect. As a Town enthusiast, I have a sinking feeling not enough of us play the Town so THD has been ignoring it. BTW, I don't consider addition of new sanctuary animals as Town development. =LynnK=

I don't think they care what the players want. Not very often, that's right. Only sometimes, on rare occasions. Recently we got an offer for the tracks and the train station. However, I can't remember previously offered things which were a wish from the players. As I stated....it's not often when SC is listening. Due to this you could conclude SC don't cares about us. On the other hand there maybe things which are not possible to implement. The game is old and " sensitive" for any new added code. Regarding the town I have no clue why it's so long neglected. I can only speculate. - developing town is a very long lasting process, much longer than farm leveling, therefore SC has no hurry to change something - too many farmers have no interest or nerves to keep up until the end - much too less farmers criticise the ignorance at the part of SC concerning the town - SC came to the conclusion that the town is ok the way it is a long time ago, no need to change it - improvements of the town is for SC the addition of new animals, that would be sufficient in their opinion Like I said, it's all speculation. Maybe some of the mentioned points apply, maybe they don't. I try not to bother with it. It is how it is. Perhaps we are getting a statement from our Community Manager. That would be nice and very appreciated, no matter how it turns out.

It is about generating income, farm pass does by asking for cash, so does the derby with inviting to spend lots of diamonds. The town and also the fish pond, don't need diamonds, therefore no income for the game.

They are doing a survey of some players, so they obviously do care what players want.
I don’t know how many people are being surveyed. I have a lot of farms and 3 devices but only got surveyed once. Still, I'm sure it’s a substantial number of ppl and they’ll aggregate results and use it to help in future planning.
The survey was surprising detailed. Personally I don’t care if we get a town update soon or not, I just really really really really really (did I mention really?) want hay day to stop with the new buildings and crops already and put out a QOL update.
IMO we need a better decoration management system. It could be a new UI with customizable tabs, or a new area eg warehouses we could work to unlock, or anything that would make it easier to find the decorations we want easily and stop the horrible scrolling up to top when we’ve finally and placed the deco we want. I play mainly for deco now but redesigning has become such a chore that I’m losing interest in buying/gaining new decos. There must be a hundred different ways to fix this and also allow SC to make more money via diamonds to unlock new deco mgmt features. Anyway, they really should invest in a design thinking workshop or something, and fix the horrible UI.

QOL stands for Quality Of Life. For example, the maximum and minimum price buttons I alluded to in my post yesterday.
Another example of QOL is the board showing at a glance which goods the Town visitors want instead of us going back and forth between the Town and farm to tap each building to check.
IMO, QOL changes are as important as new content in a new update.

Thanks, was trying to think what it meant. In regards to showing what townies want, you know you can already see once shops are loaded, you tap notice board near train track.

Hi Anniebel, yes exactly.
For a long time that board didn't exist, and we had to go to the town to check what all the townies needed, then come back to the farm and hope we didn’t forget them all before making them. Which of course we other did and then had to go back and forth again. So that board is an example of a QOL improvement that SC gave us in the past. 🙂

I answered as if I received it with my main account. Trying to remember all the questions, will have to screenshot it if it pops up again. But I did find the questions quite unique.

I completely agree with a better organization of deco. What we have now is a complete mess. Holiday items are under various tabs and you have to scroll and scroll and rescroll over AND over as when you finally do find a piece you are looking for, the tab closes and goes back to the beginning. Extremely frustrating!
I also feel that being able to sort items in the barn and silo by most and least amounts so we know what we are low on or have too much of would be awesome. And if the barn would stay where we had scrolled to instead of going to the top item again, that would be wonderful. It should stay where we have it until we tap to close it.
I totally understand the need to make money. People do not work for free. I also know that the more people enjoy the game, the better it works, and having good responsive customer service will result in people spending more money. This is something that the current SC mgt team do not understand. The focus seems to be on increasing revenue and cutting costs to ensure larger dividends for SC stockholders.

I am thinking this driven focus on increasing revenue and cutting costs to ensure larger dividends for SC stockholders will drive away players due to frustration. Don't get me wrong, I love Hay Day and I drop money into the game, but I keep my eyes open for a similar game which is as Hay Day was a few years ago, with friendly tech support, any tech support really, as my main wish. So, SHOULD such a game pop up, I want to bet Hay Day will see people leave. At this point there is non other even close to Hay Day and they know it. ( I lost deocrations on my support farm and never was able to even get through the automatic support line, but ended in a loop until I gave up, and this is what the game wants. drop money, don't get the pixel art, shut up!)

I'd like to see a derby task for helping others townies. We have tasks for filling others boat crates (although filling our own counts), filling others truck orders (I don't understand why filling our own no longer count, though, same as crates, so I'd like to see this brought back as well), and watering others plants. I help fill so many townie requests on other folks farms, and I know just about everyone else does too. It's like they just forgot to add it.
Also, perhaps a new building/townie or an additional upgrade level for each building, available to higher level players. Just don't want them to go overboard like the safari. I like the safari but I think it's gone into overkill.

As far as I recall there is one type of help task, and any help you complete gives credit, reviving trees, truck orders, boat crates and town requests. I've never seen a derby task that is limited to one type of help.

I would also like city updates, although I understand that if buildings are added to the city, then it will be something like adding a new unit factory on the farm (soon, when we get used to this innovation, there will be a question about new content in the game again) .
(I think having a zoo in the city is a great idea and I enjoy collecting animals and decorating my my conservation area.)
A few years ago, I thought about what would be the most optimal renewal in the city for me.
I propose to expand the territory of the city and add two new buildings (for example, a bathhouse and a fitness center). At the same time, a courier train can deliver more than 14 people to the city, and a private train - more than 10.
I also propose to expand the zoo so that in the near future we will have a dolphinarium, where you can watch walruses, dolphins and penguins.
With this increase, it would be great to expand the city beach (including making it a little wider, slightly shifting the sea - low tide).
At the end of the beach, I would like to build a pearl farm. By tying the net, you can catch the seashell. By improving the net (by spending diamonds), you can catch more seashells. They can be placed in a dedicated pearl growing area. The number of seats in this zone can be increased (like all machines on the farm) up to 9.
As a result, we can have seashells (mother of pearl) and pearls.
Mother of Pearl can be used to craft new items in the Jewelry Machine. For example do - a mother-of-pearl necklace (you need a necklace and seashells) - mother of Pearl Ring - (iron ingot and seashell).
Pearls can be used to produce - necklace with pearls (gold, silver, pearls) - jewelry - dress with pearl trim (broadcloth, pearls) - loom

I'm referring to the consideration of a task specifically to help other farmer's townies. As I mentioned, we have a boat crate task (we can fill our own & other's crates) and a truck task to fill other farmer's truck orders (again, I noticed a while ago that filling my own trucks no longer counts towards this task). I fill so many other farmers's townie requests and would like to see a new task made similar to the boat crate and truck tasks but fulfilling other farmers' townies only. Hope it's clearer now.

Thing is, there is no derby task for filling boat crates (yours or other farmers) there is a derby task to send off 4 boats (2 for power derby). There is also no derby task for fill other farmers truck orders, there is a task to send off 32 trucks (16 in power derby), the credit is for sending the truck off and nothing to do with who fills the order itself, it's why you can request help and another farmer can fill the order for you, but you get the credit. Not saying it is not an interesting idea, but we don't have anything as a derby task that it would be similar to, its a new type of help task that is more restrictive then the current one offered.
