I personally cringe and get annoyed everytime a commercial company tries to gain social accept and there through commercial gain by supporting good causes.
Not to mention the LGBTQIA+ is a rather toxic subject these days thanks to being hijacked by trans activists and general wokiness.

Reflecting the world as it currently stands can only be a good thing, imo.
I recall that a tiny minority of players created a huge fuss on the Supercell Official Forum when the rainbow flag was a prize for participating in a particular event. Although it was pointed out that they didn't have to display it on their farm, a few felt very strongly that they didn't even want it in their storage.
I'm a great believer in "Live and let live", and "Be kind".

Although it was pointed out that they didn't have to display it on their farm, a few felt very strongly that they didn't even want it in their storage... Sadly, I do recall the period when Team Hay Day introduced the Rainbow Flag as a prize for a global fishing event to celebrate Pride Month in June 2020. The sad part is when some posters insisted it isn't the Rainbow Flag which represents the LGBTQIA+ community. A Forum Moderator posted quickly and confirmed that the decoration is the Rainbow Flag. But some players were still unconvinced. I wondered if they were ignorant, in denial, or willful trolls. I was rolling my eyes so hard that I feared getting a detached retina which would required emergency surgery. And I preferred not to visit the Emergency Room when it was needed to treat severely ill people infected with COVID-19. Mercifully, the discussion ended when a second Forum Moderator stated it is the Rainbow Flag and he would know for certain because Forum Moderators are in touch regularly with the game team. I imagined him hitting the gavel like a judge and saying discussion is over so let's hear the next case. Cheers Bakunin. After the thread was closed, I was hoping the FMs would read the hot thread from the beginning and adjudicate which posts broke forum rules and which forumites needed to cool off and earned a trip to banned camp, temporarily or permanently. ;-)

It is always placed on my farm as a tribute to the people who are gay in my family and among my friends. I still don't like when companies use good causes in their business strategy. I know it is naive, but in my book it goes without saying, that there is room for everyone even when they make it hard to sympathies like the people going banana over a rainbow flag.

l26 I agree with you. I do not have to show any "sign"...whatever it my be...to clarify whether I have sympathy for someone or not. I think the best way to give something back is showing appropriate behaviour.

On the one hand, I agree with donkeyfan and l26 on that it is mostly a mean for some or most companies to gain profit by using good causes as a "commercial" for their businesses. In addition, this becomes unconvincing and leads to to a contradiction where such a support for a good cause comes from a company (be it still having its true/real central administration or management situated in the EU) that has been owned by another company which has been in breach of different fundamental (human) rights (including distortion of competition through various conducts in different markets as heading to be monopolist). If you truly do have principle(s) that you are dedicated to follow, for example, to protect and promote human rights, ideally do not sell your company to those that ignore and violate human rights. There are such companies that have principles and therefore that are very careful in choosing their potential parent company or partner(s) and such companies are respected quite a lot: money does not override the principles for them. Needless to say, what a CEO, CoC etc. says, it is only words that do not show what the person is saying truly believes in what they are saying or saying just as a "commercial" using a good cause. Words are easy to formulate. On the other hand, even if good causes are used as a mean to make money by some or most companies, it does still create awareness in society and in different sectors. And this awareness is certainly needed in my opinion, more and more awareness of the differences that each of us has, e.g., race, sexual orientation - name it: basic human rights that we all must respect. From that perspective, I am really happy that the companies are engaged in such "promotions" for good causes. This awareness is also needed in particular sectors where the differences function as a barrier for individuals willing to acquire a job etc. Let me illustrate if I can probably as what cowslips said about the flag happened to me in reality (quite sad imo): I and my husband always put our rainbow flag in our front yard when the pride is approaching. For a long time unknown people broke our flag each year. Later, we got in touch with some communities and some entities to create more awareness. Short: They did and mostly through increasing such "commercials" by companies and targeted at some areas. Believe or not, they are no breaking our flag anymore. Sorry for the length - overall: it is very good cause and good that all these companies are creating (more) awareness even if they may have financial consideration "at heart".
