I'm writing this post because I was able to solve a bug without contacting Player Support. Yahooooooooooo!
On Sunday morning I logged into HD several times without issues. But in the evening whenever I logged into HD, the game crashed multiple times. The good news is I won't need to interact with the dreaded Supercell Automated Support in game because I can't log in to do so. I was able to play Clash of Clans and another non Supercell game without crashing, so the problem occurred when playing HD.
Before I use the Supercell webform to contact Player Support, I did the following on my Galaxy Tab A running Android 9.
1. Checked storage space to see I have 1.2 GB free. On an older device, HD would crash often when there was less than 1 GB of storage.
2. Restarted device and logged into HD but it still crashed.
3. Used app (1 Tap Cleaner) to remove accumulated cache. Less than two minutes later, 325 MB was removed. BTW, I use the 1TC several times a week because I like cleanliness.
4. Opened HD and it hasn't crashed.
5. If it had crashed, I would've uninstall and reinstall it and restart device.
