Anyone else wish they could delete or sell their pets? I wake mine up a few times a week, I don’t like to waste the bacon and milk for a nail or tape. I wouldn’t mind having one house each, if only I had known I never would have bought them all.

I wouldn’t mind having one house each, if only I had known I never would have bought them all. That is exactly what a second farm is for🙂 It is a most satisfying way to start over. My farm #2 has one smelter and has one pen of goats and sheep, no jewelry maker and less native trees cut down. It’s not for everyone and some derbies are impossible, however, if you really want to pick and choose, start another farm.

I agree with WussyPuss. What you described thisistheway is exactly where nearly everyone fails. Problem is you don't know that and if you know it's too late. That said it's no comfort, I know that, too. But this is the way. If you have time start indeed a second farm. You'll avoid all mistakes you've done on your main farm. Not to mention that a second farm will become a great supporter after some time for your main farm. You should not underestimate that effect.

I don’t wake the cats and dogs up that much because I don’t want to use the milk and bacon, but I do wake the carrot animals up when I can. But still I wouldn’t want to sell them

I think this is also a matter of time. Take me for example. I luckily have time, so I'm able to feed my pets regularly without getting in a short supply of bacon. Milk is not the problem, as the time for producing is only 1 hour. But bacon could become problematic due to 4 hours of time needed. And sometimes it's gonna happen that I'm in this very situation to have for some products not enough bacons. And at that moment my babyfarm comes along to "help" me.

My son has an abandoned farm that he left at level 31. I tried to play them both and it wasn’t for me. I can see where it could be very rewarding but it was just too much.

My son has an abandoned farm that he left at level 31. I tried to play them both and it wasn’t for me. I can see where it could be very rewarding but it was just too much. Yes, I can understand this. To get a low level farm really good functional to serve the main farm properly needs time. Not everyone has the time, especially if you are working for a living.
In my opinion it will take a month, more or less, to get a lower level farm well prepaired. During this time - a month - it can be a little bit laborious, and that's not very comforting. But after that time you can ease it. I think it would suffice to look only once or twice on the baby and get it ready. With "ready" I mean feeding all animals, getting the machines available at work, for example with bread, the dairy with milk, cream, cheese and so on.
I recommend to look once a day and before you go to bed. Don't forget to plant those crops which take a long time before harvesting them. After a short time this will be part of flesh and blood. (A saying in Germany, I hope it's understandable what I want to explain).
Perhaps you give it a try, later.

thisisthewayI think level 31 could be a good start. You see, I want to encourage you. Don't give up, have always in mind it takes first a little bit time. I want to show you some pictures of my baby farm, actually level 57. I have only 6 horses, 6 donkeys, 1 dog, 1 cat and 6 bunnies. Furthermore I tried to preserve the original look by avoiding to cut the original trees, to blow up the stones or remove the swamps. Actually I bought the 3rd smelter, it will be ready tomorrow in the morning. But see for yourself: Hope you got an impression and want more.

I have all the pets available, except the peacocks of course, and I feed them ALL three times a day. I produce milk and bacon and keep at least 150 of each at all times. I love the pets. I enjoy watching them wander around. I also feed the sanctuary animals twice a day. So I keep a lot of feed around for all the critters!

Additional to my previous postings, thisistheway... My baby is only there to support my main, nothing else. I avoid boat orders and truck orders, everything I produce is for the main. In the beginning I switched sometimes tools for expanding silo and barn for the baby from my main. If the capacity is too little it's becoming uncomfortable when harvesting crops. Try to evaluate how much space you will need. My baby with level 57 has only 1.100 for silo and barn. That's little, I know that, but I got used to it. Mostly I'm struggling with silo sometimes, rarely with barn. I also skip the valley with my baby. Farm Pass depends which tasks are offered. Sometimes I deal with them, sometimes not. For example I never do truck orders. But that's my approach to handle this. It suits me best this way.
