I'm curious as to everyones opinion on what is a good amount, for various level ranges, to have of;
•NECTAR bushes for bees •PEANUT bushes for Squirrels •Fruit TREES/BUSHES in general
With the main aims being:
-To keep your axe/saw amount at a reasonable level -To meet demands from various orders
ALSO;
*Do you keep a store of fruit in the silo?
*Do you plant far less/more of one type tree/bush than any other because of consistently lower/higher demand from products/orders?

BauldersGateVery interesting questions. I'll answer them, but first I have to count.

BauldersGateVery interesting questions. I'll answer them, but first I have to count. On the 'farm layouts' tab you can select any layout Then click the put away all the fruit trees bushes at once button That makes it easy read how many you have from the list You can then 'discard' the changes to the layout to exit I use the layouts to hunt for trees I've lost behind other trees by clicking around with the erase button till I find out where they're hiding 😅

Well, let's begin:
First, I must tell you that I have multiple farms. But the most important to my main farm is my second, level 88 actually.
I don't like it to harvest my fruit trees on my main farm, I try to avoid this mostly. Also I'm not a "fan" from fruit trees in their biggest size. I love it to differ. So my main farm has everything, small trees, medium and great ones.
Furthermore my second farm is the most important supplier for my main farm. I also like it not being forced to reserve too much space for the fruit trees, they are mainly on my babyfarm.
So I'm counting only the trees and bushes on my babyfarm with the exception of Nectar Bushes and Peanut Bushes.
Main:
Nectar Bushes: 8 (baby ditto) Peanut Bushes: 3 (baby 5)
This is sufficient because I pay attention to let the bees and squirrels work everytime.
The next readings are only about my babyfarm:
Apple: 9 Cherry: 6 Cacao: 6 Coffee: 18 Lemon: 16 Orange: 14 Peach: 16 Olive: 16 Rapsberry: 8 Blackberry: 0 (wondering myself)
I try to have from each fruit between 150 and 200 in stock. But this doesn't work always. I also look for fruits in the DD. Often I have luck and get an acceptable amount.
The most fruits required in my opinion are olives and cacao.
My aim is always to have enough fruit to produce the goods that they require. According to that I avoid to serve townies etc. with wishes about fruits.
I'm not eager for axes or saws. I have more than enough, because my town is fully developed and these items are "raining" on my farm. Some of them are destined to my babyfarm but most of them I'm offering in my RSS.
Oh, forgotten, last thing:
If you wonder about my small number of Cacao Trees and not having Blackberry Bushes on my babyfarm, there is a third one. My smallest farm has a very natural finish. I tried to keep swamps, stones, and the original trees. If something is lacking, I have enough Cacao Trees, Rapsberry and Blackberry bushes. So I really have rarely a short supply of some fruits.
And if that happens, then I have wonderfuld friends in my list from this forum who would help me at once. ❤️

donkeyfan that is interesting, thank you! I too keep only small numbers of nectar and peanut bushes I also spread those bushes away from the bee/squirrel trees themselves to make the critters work harder 😅 I very much agree that cacao tree is the most often harvested, I have half a dozen more of those than any other tree type. Olive too I have a few more of, I find olive oil and the subsequent mayo are needed near constant! I only have the one farm so it has to be self sufficient but I like the idea of keeping a farm as a larder! Farming alone I find around 15 of each tree/bush (save more cacao and olive) usually works but I do sometimes run out! But I'm also terrible for not keeping any in my silo, rarely more than 10 of each fruit (save the usually 40 odd peanuts)

BauldersGate Thank you for your answer. I agree with you. Olive oil and mayo are also products I rarely give off. Wishes from townies for example that require those will be deleted at once. I'm also a player who rarely asks for help. Neither ships or board orders or town. I try to help myself. Exception would be a task in the farmpass or in derby. But I try to avoid this, too. I'm very glad about my second farm. I started it a half year later than my main. The first time I forced leveling but meanwhile I'm relaxed. The next level will occur automatically through the farmpass. For my babyfarms I use only the non-paid version. But that's ok for me. And meanwhile I'm able to plant every fruit tree on my baby except plums. And the argument of having to spend too much time doesn't apply for me. Usually I visit my babys one or two times a day. Harvest if necessary, feed the animals and start production for items I'm lacking on my main. Once a day I switch the needed products to my main. It's very effective, in every respect. Of course it's the first time laborious and this would be a period which requires more time. But the outcome is worth the effort.

I have a different tactic. Every place not occupied but other deco, animals etc is covered with bushes and trees. That way I get enough ! for tasks. And I wheat a lot for the drops. 2-3 drops every 2 minutes, so it’s raining saws and axes to keep up with everything.

ducktown2021Maximalism rather than minimalism, I've seen a few farms like that! Do you find visitors struggle to find revives in amongst it all? As a visitor to them I feel like I've gone blind trying to find some revives on some of the more jungle like farms 😅

I know that ducktown2021 has a completely different approach to achieve his goals as I have. But he is successful, and that counts. Besides, not long time ago (during helper event) I appreciated his support. And I found my way.

I have a lot in the friendbook, including JHD members. Like Donkeyfan mentioned, I help them when they need ! For derby tasks or events. Via PM I inform them where I place the helps on my farm, including the number. After the person has done that number I do the same number. Or I inform them via kik or pm where I do the next section. I work structured. 😉

Yes, that I want to add. ducktown2021 is well organized. But now it's enough. Too much praise isn't good.

That’s a rather difficult question to answer and having multiple farms or not can also severely impact the answer. Most of it really depends on your own play style and how you like to play and how you like your farm to look. I will use a few examples to explain later but first a few things on play style.
You have to ask do you want to be as self sufficient as possible and where do you want to store your fruit ? If you store it on the trees and bushes you’ll need some more if you store it in the silo and harvest a lot you’ll need less trees and bushes.
Do you want to buy and rely on buying lots of fruit ? You’ll need less trees and bushes and less saws and axes but it isn’t the most reliable source. You’ll also need enough silo space to buy and store the fruits as you see it. So you see these are a few fundamental choices which have a huge impact on the answer.
I’m currently lvl 139 and mostly self sufficient. I am reasonably active but machines do idle sometimes etc the more active you are the more your needs will be different so you’ll need to experiment to find a flow that suits you. I do have a little farm but I very rarely use it to transfer goods from or buy products from. I mostly tend to store most of my fruit on the trees and bushes. I will have some fruits in the silo but mostly between 20-30 each tops. So I’m basically using the trees and bushes on the farm as extended storage.
I tend to be self sufficient with normal crops too so I get the saws and axes drops but I don’t wheat like crazy te replenish them. I usually don’t sell fruit in my shop but use it to make product or spend on boats, town etc. Sometimes I pick saws as derby prizes when I’m low.
Some people say never plant more then you have saws and axes. I don’t believe in that because I never have experienced a situation where I had to chop everything in the same week. Sure sometimes they will drop a bit lower with chopping stuff and sometimes I have more but that’s ok.
I have mostly 30-40 fruit trees of each type. But I must say some are part of the design of he farm and I don’t really use much. Nectar I often have 40-50 around. I don’t like the bees to idle too often when nectar runs out so I have a lot and this situation doesn’t happen often, also I interpreted them in the farm design so it’s natural to have more. But you could survive on just a few if you manage them properly. Peanut bushes I don’t have that many but they’re spread out all over the farm just because I think it’s cure when I’m farming somewhere and a squirrel comes running across the screen. I also have a lot of raspberry bushes (65) most I don’t use but they’re part of the design and the same goes for a number of blackberry bushes. Every now and then they make a nice emergency source. So that’s a little how I play.
my farm tag is in my signature if you want to see what I mean with some trees and bushes being part of the design. my forever work in progress by the way 😂

Hi kat Thank you very much for your detailed description. 👍 I find it very interesting to read how farmers are managing their farm in so different ways. Luckily HayDay is a game which offers any possibility to play how it suits you the most. You wrote this, kat, and another member of this forum mentioned this in a previous posting. I'm speaking from RescueSquad15. (RS 15)🪓. May I add that also the time you are able to spend on your farm is an important factor. Take me for example. I enjoy the luxury of having a plenty of time for Hayday. I think this is the reason that I'm able to hold available a certain amount of fruits and to use my babyfarms as I do. I'm very grateful for that because it's a great advantage compared to those members who have still to work for their living. But luckily HayDay suits everyone in every situation. You have only to take it and to move on.

Yes exactly donkeyfan and that is also the beauty of Hay Day (or at least I think so). You can play in so many ways and so many different styles. Like you said the time you can and are willing to spend on the game also has a huge influence on how you can manage your farm.
That being said, there’s no right or wrong way to play. As long as you’re having fun and enjoy the game. The only thing is if something isn’t working for you and you don’t like that then try and figure out what you can do to change to make it work. But yea with all the different playing styles it’s also difficult to answer such questions. There is no one correct answer. And we can share our own experiences. It makes for interesting reads and with all the tips I still learn new things after playing for many many years

My big farm has a full orchard. I I have 20 of each tree except, olive, lemon, and cocoa. I have 30 each of those. I don't revive my trees until derby as people are always looking for trees to do for help tasks. I leave fruit on the trees until I need it to save room in the silo. My honey and nut bushes vary as I like to make designs with them lol. So it changes daily. I get enough saws and axes from planting and selling crops. So I don't have dead trees just sleeping ones smiles. My baby farm, level 55, has about 20 each raspberry and blackberry bushes, and 20 apple and cherry, 20 coffee, 30 cocoa. Honey bushes average 12 to 20 depending on my current design. But I see no need to collect fruit until I need it. My silo is thankful! Lol

I fear all of mine are decorational @rbcrewser 😅
My fruit bushes form a ring around my fields
My fruit trees occupy the land on the opposite side of the road in a big forest
I like how it's a forever shifting forest as I harvest at random but I like the idea of a separate tree collection for solely production purposes!

greenleaf im sure my silo is thankful too lvl 133 currently and 3450 silo storage, I think I'm behind the norm 😅 I usually keep around 90-100ish of the crops depending on need which leaves just enough room for around 30-40 peanuts and a handful of every other fruit
