Is that something new?

That happened to me once and I did a hard close of the game, reopened it and my drop off tokens were there and I was able to collect them. Not sure that always works though. Good luck!

That has happened to me twice now in this valley Hummel, I have never had it happen before. I just left the valley for a while and when I went back over I got the tokens

Yes, happened to me also several times. I switch to something else, come back and get the tokens.

Well, I have to correct myself. Today happened the same thing to me. Yesterday I dropped my truck with 3 animals at the sanctuary. Today in the morning when I wanted to collect the tokens I got the same hint: Delivery expired...

Nothing worked so I have to take it that the tokens are gone. But this doesn't bother me because I gathered the tokens necessary for 2 permits. I'm done with this valley and I'm very glad about this.

That's the question. If that is the case it is new. I remember a previous valley period when time regarding to collect the tokens next day wasn't a factor. I had the same procedure with dropping the animals late in the evening and it was no problem to collect the tokens next morning. I wonder if other farmers made a similar or the same experience. 

I, too, frequently park my truck at the sanctuary drop-off, so that I can collect the tokens the following day when the new quests have been set.

I've always been able to collect the tokens, no matter how long the truck has been there. I run the valley on 7 farms and have never encountered the problem described.

As Frog On mentions, contacting Support is perhaps the way to go. I'd be interested to hear their comments.

I just got the answer from support. No error detected. I must confess that I'm a little bit unsure about my issue. Perhaps I was wrong and thought I had dropped those animals yesterday in the evening at sanctuary.

But on the other side I'm wondering about my truck. Why would I place the truck beneath sanctuary if not for delivering animals?

I apologize that my request is no help in this matter. I was told that they checked my play logs and everything was ok. To get this clear I try again. Today in the evening I will deliver the animals at sanctuary and tomorrow morning check about tokens.

Has happened to me again. If I click on the truck the tokens will show up.

I'm sure that I clicked on the sanctuary but not on my truck. And now it's too late. I left the sanctuary and catched another animal for delivery. Tomorrow I'll try your hint and click on my truck. I'm curious whether this works.

I believe the message "animal drop off expired" means you had a "deliver animal to sanctuary" daily task. Which means you have to not only drop them off but collect the token for that particular task on the same day. If you dropped them off that day but collected the tokens the following day, the task expired..not the tokens. You probably received the tokens but the message alerting you either blocked the graphics or took your attention away from the collection.

This is how I deal with the "missing" tokens too. If i remembe, the last sanctuary valley, the animals would glitch and would reappear on the map after a few moments. You shouldn't have lost tokens for expired delivery.  See my post above. I have had this happen to me in the past, and it took me a minute to realize I received the tokens but missed my daily task. If you're still unsure,  I suggest contacting support.
