I downloaded Hayday back in Feb 2014 after my wife introduced me to the game she had been playing for a couple of months. My progress over each of the next 50 levels has been as follows:
Level 50 - April 2014
Level 100 - March 2015
Level 150 - August 2016
Level 200 - Feb 2018
Level 250 - Feb 2020
Level 300 - July 2021
Based on the XP requirements my levelling up had been fairly consistent up to 250 but from then accelerated on up to 300, this I largely attribute to the 10 ‘free levels’ I have received due to purchasing each of the new monthly farm passes. Without these I guess I would be around 290 now and would reach 300 around this Christmas time.
So what has kept me motivated to consistently play Hayday for so long? Well it is true to say I am someone who likes challenges, and Hayday has on each update provided me with enough new content to fulfil my needs. By this for example I mean: - Opening up all new land, completing the fishing book, attaining all the achievements, fully mastering all new machines, collecting all Maggies items and maximising the barn and silo. Also when Supercell ID was introduced I started a baby farm, initially to simply produce dairy and jam but then I subsequently added myself additional challenges in the baby farm to also complete its fishing book and opening all its land. So now having reached level 300 my current goals are to:
Fully master my final machine (The Donut maker)
Attain Town reputation level 100 (currently 98)
Obtain the 2 x baby reindeers (currently 33/36 puzzle pieces for the brown calf, and will welcome the calf this weekend)
Open all the new expansion permit land - I have collected 29/310 permits so far - so that will take me a long long time.
Hold a stock of at least 10 of every item - which despite having barn and silo of 15,600/14,300 I have never done!
I have often been asked if there are any shortcuts to levelling up quickly? and I know many contributors have given expert and considered advice on the subject. However my route has been simply to strive to obtain all the animals, keep them fed as much as possible and with the help from trading with opposite item traders to upgrade the barn as quickly as possible. Everything else then just seemed to fall into place. I have never found the need to buy diamonds for any reason other than to buy a limited edition decoration I liked the look of. I probably spend 2 or 3 hours a day farming (on holiday sometimes a whole lot more!) and fit this in between full time work and a busy family life. I hope that was interesting, maybe in a couple of years I will hit 350.
