This shop offer just appeared. The items were offered singly a week or two ago. I got two of them. I didn’t keep track of what I paid, but I’m pretty sure it was considerably more than this. Possibly more for the “birdbath” by itself than the cost for all three. I would expect decos from previous years to show up as “sale” packages, but not these brand new things. If I’m wrong, and this offer isn’t a significant discount on what I just spent, I apologize. However, I won’t be rushing to make any more shop purchases when items are first offered. None of these items are on display on Greg’s farm. Another annoyance. The mushrooms are carved wood rather than natural. That isn’t obvious from the offer. (You can tell they are wooden here because the image is much larger than in the shop.) Rant over.  |

Yes, they were previously offered as diamonds + deco packs. If you did buy them earlier you actually payed for the diamonds, rather than the deco itself.

I definitely got the birdbath as a diamond deco pack. It cost me £19.99 UK pounds, but I thought it was worth it as the deco is lovely and I needed to top up my diamonds anyway. I have also purchased the soup deco, but I can’t remember if it was one of the smaller packs of the same offer or not. I agree, though, that if I hadn’t needed the diamonds at the time it would have been useful to know that the deco would have been available to purchase anyway, at a lower cost. I am a big fan of the autumn decorations in general, and I love the new additions, but MiniGardener makes a very good point - it is extremely annoying that Greg doesn’t display a lot of the new decorations on his farm in advance of us buying them. My storage is crammed full of decorations I have bought from the shop, and then not displayed because they weren’t the same size or appearance as they seemed in the shop.

I got a birdbath and the soup deco, and both they costed me $30. I you that I paid for diamonds, but I feel disappointed. I didn’t need diamonds, I had a lot already, and I wouldn’t buy them if I knew this offer pops up later.

Thanks, everyone, for reminding me that I got diamonds as well as deco. That does make a difference. I always wait to get diamonds when there is a tempting diamond deco offer. However, like farmerkris, I didn’t need diamonds. I would have appreciated the choice of offers at the same time — singles with diamonds, and package without. SC would have gotten my $$ regardless. I imagine that the next step will be to offer the decos in the shop for diamonds. I do like that option for getting extras of things like fences.
As jennyanne says, the scale variation in decos makes it even more important for us to be able to see things on Greg’s farm before purchase. I’ve also got items that spend their lives in storage (some of which I’ve purchased) or can only be displayed on their own because they overwhelm everything else. Greg has plenty of open space; he needs to get his gnomes busy.

I've also bought decos that are so small that I can't see the details I liked without zooming in a lot. It's really annoying that we can no longer see all of them on Greg's farm before buying them. |
