Math for event didn't pan out for everyone

It’s been a tight fit for me to complete the event. I did not trash any tasks including two clay mug tasks and a 3-lollipop task. I completed every task on the day it appeared so that I got my full complement of tasks. I still needed to complete two today — the final day of the event — to get my permit prize. Too close for comfort and a very great risk of disappointment if I had trashed tasks.

That is exactly why I stopped doing Task Events a few events ago. I don't mind working hard to complete events, but when it became clear that Task Events were NOT structured fairly, I stopped doing them. Hopefully they will fix this. But until they do I'm ignoring Task Events!

My experience was pretty much the same. I had multiple 200+ points task, compared to previous events when I had too many of the 50/60/80 tasks. I usually try to avoid trashing as much as possible, but I agree that it is too tight to finish sometimes. However, the permits are not my top priority so it's not hard to give up on them if I feel like I can't keep up with it. I see no reason to completely ditch the event just because some of the rewards may not be reachable.

For a long while I thought there is an algorithm behind this event that gives you a pool of tasks with enough points to reach the end.
I really trusted in that.

But no!
I already realized this problem since the Happy Earth Event.
Thats why I already posted some thoughts in another thread.

The Happy Earth Event was the first event with some significant changes.

If we exclude the Oktoberfest Event a year ago (which was the first event with the new event style):
All events before Hapy Earth had a daily average under 2000 points.
The highest one was 1571.

The Happy Earth Event had a daily average of 2500 - btw the same as this time.
I saw so many players complaining that they couldn't reach the end. And I also saw it happen for some friends.

The other change since the Happy Earth Event is that they don't put the deco in the end anymore.
(someone here put my attention to this point of change!)
But I also saw many players struggeling to reach even the deco or needed nearly every task to get it.
Average for the deco was 1938.

To reach the deco the averages for all other events since that were good.
But to reach the end the average is really high.
Happy Earth: 2500 / deco: 1938
Golden Rush (coins): 2400 / deco: 700
Birthday - RocknRoll: 2100 / deco: 600
Summer Fair: 2143 / deco: 1071
Green Game Jam: 2333 / deco: 1083
Halloween 2500 / deco 600

BTW: a month before the Happy Earth Event we had the "unexpected Delights" event.
A test event only for some players.
Daily average for this one: 1900.

But for me it doesn't matter what you get at the end.
Players have different things they focus on.
So the end should be reachable for all players.
In my opinion you should get enough tasks to reach the end and some more if you have to delete some.
It doesn't have to be too many more. But as long as you can get tasks that lasts longer than a day (jelly beans, more than one task on a machine like the jam maker) there should be some more just in case if it is impossible to do.

Also a problem:
For some tasks they reduced the amount for the products some events ago.
But not only that! For most of them they also reduced the points you get.

In my group only 15/100 made it to at least 12,500 points.
