Okay. I’ve tried so hard to pay attention and get all the steps in the task event process correct. Not today. So far…
💣 I’ve chosen the wrong pie task to collect. I had three pie tasks on the board. I’d stacked 3 pumpkin with one bacon and 3 shepherd’s pie behind them. The pumpkin were ready, but I took the bacon task. 💣 I had collected the pumpkin before I realized my mistake. I probably would have trashed the bacon and moved on.
💣 I was ready to collect 8 breads when a chocolate chip cookie task popped up on the event board. I selected a task and merrily went off to collect the bread and load up the cookies only to discover that I had selected the cookie task rather than the bread. 💣 So now I’m waiting for cookies and I can’t collect the icecream that is ready to go! It’s going to melt before the cookies are baked!! EDIT: I just went back and checked the point value of 4 cookies — 80. I’m trashing the task and moving on.
I think the problem is that I have to keep moving back and forth between the event screen and the farm, and there are so many back-and-forths needed to double check that I’m doing what I think I’m doing. Also, I have “so many irons in the fire.” I don’t see how it could be improved, but it is frustrating. There are so many different processes for fulfilling things: derby tasks, farm pass tasks, event tasks. Some get logged as you collet them into the barn. Some have to be stacked until ready. Juggling all the aspects of game play is very satisfying; and developing the skill to do it effectively and successfully is a big part of why I’ve been farming for 10+ years. I just needed a bit of a rant.

I understand your pain MiniGardener, I have made a few similar errors when I had several lots of juice as tasks and they were low point tasks too. I am now double checking each time. Very frustrating. |

For me it’s all about planning and strategy. With multiple events at the same time I plan and follow my plan. That also means doing all the different events in a planned manner. The events that have to most impact on other events I try to finish first.
While the machines were prepping for the task event I did derby tasks, all that were easy to finish. Harvest, mine and town. I stay away from feeding animals, waking them up etc. And it helps having melters stacked with bars.
At the start of an event my machines are idle and not stacked. It helps when you use the ads to shorten production times for long lasting tasks. I don’t delete any tasks when that means running the risk of not getting the rewards I “want”.
I understand it can be frustrating when you take wrong tasks or items, but in the end it’s still about collecting pixels. When you learn from it, adapt and improve for the next time that’s a big plus.

I am very careful about what task to take and which to collect.
What annoys me that in my time zone (California), new set of tasks start at 1 am which is past my normal bedtime except Friday and Saturday.

It’s also impossible to prepare stacks of produce before the next derby. I stacked up a couple of machines only to have to release all the products to feed the event road tasks.

The most annoying thing - for me - would be the randomness or should I better say arbitrariness with which the tasks are distributed. I read from several players (another forum and Reddit) that the given tasks are mostly long lasting production ones with little points. If this occurs some days in a row it's difficult if not impossible to reach the final goal.
I have seen such ridiculous rows in a screenshot, so that's sth what happens not seldom but often. What's that supposed to mean? I understand that the event is meant to be a little bit challenging, but there is a thin line to overdo it. And...it's not the first time that this is gonna happen. One reason for me to restrain myself from those events or to skip them completely.
The game is supposed to please me, not the opposite. Ok, everyone has in regard of this another point of view, and everyone has his own pain threshold but in my opinion some things are unnecessary.
Well, it's not a complaint, only stating facts I noticed over the time.

I like in game challenges like this, but I am a bit surprised we have had two so close in session. This kind of task stall all other activity on my farm. I have maxed production lines on all my old machines, which has turned out to be a rather stupid game strategy, but never mind. So to be able to be ready for the tasks, I have to more or less stop all other production. It is fun to do from time to time, but this is twice in a very short time period.
Still seriously annoyed that I can't plan properly how to get and use the Olympic flames/bottles. I like to be able to plan and have control. 🥴

Well as of this current Task Event I have come to the conclusion that I will not do any future Task Events! Not only do all the issues mentioned above cause stress and frustration, the thing I HATE the most is the unfairness with the task points. Today all my tasks, even those that would take 7 or 8 hours to complete gave only 60 to 80 points. For the life of me I cannot understand why they would make the task points so low that no matter how much time, effort and even diamonds for new tasks are spent, you cannot make it to the end!! I don't mind working hard on an event, but I feel like it is fixed for failure no matter what and I no longer desire to waste my time doing Task Events!! Thanks for reading my rant...I feel better now!  |

Today all my tasks, even those that would take 7 or 8 hours to complete gave only 60 to 80 points. I agree with the previous posts, this event it's the worst so far regarding low points tasks🙄
Too bad cause I actually liked the task events, but it started to feel more and more like chores.

I understand about playing it safe and not trashing tasks.
Right now, I have 8500/12500 and two more days.
I should have this done by tomorrow. I think it would be safe to delete about a dozen low value tasks and still have room to spare.
I usually delete production tasks asking for jams, multiple bars, or anything that will tie up a machine for several hours.

I'm at 8270 and I completed all my tasks so far. The thing is they lowered the amounts needed for some tasks but it is sooo random between the players it really doesn't feel fair at all. My tasks everyday were 1 pie for 100 points, 4 popcorn for 80 points, 1 smoothie for 100 points, 1 lobster for 90 points (instead of 4 lobsters for 360 points like it used to be). Deleting any of those tasks doesn't necessarily guarantee one with 200+ points. It's completely random and annoying.

I think the task event could be improved by:
1. Show all 20 tasks for the day and allow players to select the 6 tasks to work on and as tasks complete, the player can select another task from the list.
2. Get rid of the claim task- as soon and the item comes out of the machine you can tap it and it going into your inventory, the tasks also gets updated to the new amount. This would also allow the player to add more items to the production machine queue, if another task needs to use the same machine or if your inventory is getting low due to the town, a player could add items.
3. Let players also buy items out of the newspaper, so if a player has a task for 3 strawberry candles they can buy them out of the paper instead of making the candles. This could also help with getting more items into the newspaper

I enjoyed reading all comments very much.
With me, going back and forth between having product and producing product.
My own mistakes happen when I use diamonds to finish a product, and it doesn't stack, it flies to inventory!
Sometimes I am not doing that task at the time.
Other tasks on my mind.
Ooopsies happen all the time 😮

I had one busy day where I didn’t get many done and had to trash a couple on the last day. I got a request for 3 jellybeans (that take 20 hours each—on the last day….Um…no). But I made it—to my surprise—with a single leftover task lined up. Too close for comfort. I do appreciate things like “1 stew” or 1 pot pie, for a good number of points. No 500 point feed animals tasks this time, iirc. I did wake 5 of the animals and certain pets, just in case.
We’ll see what this (third?!) country fair is like, soon. I hope I can get plenty of bottles from it, still. (Fingers crossed.)

A couple buys and green tiles were sold out.
The next county fair, do I need to spend all bottles now?

Never seen that it was refilled, well to be honest I guess once they added additional pages, but not 100% sure. i don’t think you will have to use your bottles now, you can do that whole month till timer stops. |
