I really feel like every individual person or neighbourhood should have an option in their settings to choose to disable/enable chat censoring. We very often run into problems when chatting as a lot of words are censored for no reason what so ever. especially when speaking in our own lanuage which is swedish. Adding a setting like that would help pretty much everyone playing the game. I honestly can't think of any other game that doesn't already have this setting. If it's too much of a problem maybe just add a report button along with it so that people can report someone who are rude and so on?

There is already a report button; if you tap on an entry in the chat the report option pops up. If that button is used by several members of the neighbourhood the member in question is unable to post any chat for 24 hours.

Well that is great then, But then that just brings us back to the original reason of the comment. We should get a setting to disable/enable the censoring in chat as a lot of words and names are censored for no reason

delaxen I don't know for sure but I really doubt that SC will ever change their censorship in general. Neither especially for an understanding via chat needed e. g. for derby. I personally have no doubt that you and your nh would use the chat not wrongly, but if this would be possible about a button it could really get out of hand. So, for MY understanding it's clear that there won't be any concessions at the part of SuperCell. They have to establish an "area" which is safe and sound from unwanted things at all costs, such as agreements which could violate the Terms of Use. I know, this can't be satisfactory for you and your nh, but SC has to think in greater dimensions. Please, be also aware, we are here only a forum for fans, not endorsed from SC. It's not very likely that you are heard from Team HayDay. Don't be mad about it, it's nothing personal. Sometimes you are forced to make concessions by yourself if you like sth very much and you won't abandon it due to a minor issue.

See the thing is pretty much every single game out there has the option to opt out of censoring. and yes it can get out of hand but that is why there is a report button. There are so many names and completely normal words that are censored for absolutely no reason. the only way for them to fix it is to either spend a looooong time on going through¨every single word in the dictionary of multiple languages or simply adding the option to disable censoring. it really isn't a bad thing to have that option.

delaxen I can comprehend your point of view. I was only posting my personal opinion. Tbh, I can't confirm your problems bc I never had trouble with the chat previously. Or better said...extremely rare. Currently I use the chat on rare occasions since I quitted derby a long time ago. Due to this I am not aware if SC has tightened the censorship for special words in the chat. Perhaps, if other members read your posting they can comment on your issue.

Some of the craziest words get censored (even some kind of tree we were talking about once, maybe because in the sentence, the words before/after made a swear word in another language—who knows). Too bad it couldn’t be more language-specific, but some neighborhoods are international, so Idk.
Also, if there are (or have ever been?) people under 13 in the hood, censorship will be next level, and can’t be reverted back to a less-censored version, iirc.
I’m kind of out of touch on how this works, sorry.
