There is nothing much to spend all that holly got from the holly task event in the last section of my catalogue, my last pages are just full of general stuff, no scrolls etc, so am going to be left with thousands of holly. There are those decos but am not really interested in them this year, would rather have scrolls lol

Same thing happening here.😄 I am not interested in the building decos. I don’t know why except that maybe they look too much like the production buildings but then don’t produce anything?🤷♀️ And I don’t want to commit the space on the farm to a non-producing building? A non-producing sheep pulling a tree, yes, but not a non-producing building. (I really hope none of you were looking for logic in my decision-making).😆
Whatever the reason for my lack of interest, I’m going to use up as many of the hollies as I can and then sell the stuff I really don’t want/need.

If I knew the exchange rate (and could be bothered) I'd work out if it makes more money to buy the expansion materials to sell or just to allow the holly to convert to coins...but its boxing day and I'm currently lazy 😆

I didn't really pay attention so well during the event or the timing of the gifts and boats. 😞 I ended up with something like 20 gifts to lose and on the event I maybe trashed 3 tasks a day. Not knowing what tasks I would get I ended up with buying everything in the the last section that I could. Still ended up with 2125 extra holly.

I agree with you all, exceptional that I want the booth. Due to the bad communication at the part of SC I am missing things from the first week. I thought due to a lack of time I wouldn't be able to get everything I want and as a result concentrated on only few things.
Now we have the situation that we could buy everything we want. E. g. items I am not fond of such as dynamite, shovels, axes and saws. I have more than enough from that stuff, don't need additional with hollies. Or items for the town. For me it's wasted.
I also criticize the upcoming tasks. Mostly such with long lasting production time and little reward. (< 100). Ridiculous, why do they offer such a .......? 😵💫😬😕 I don't understand it.
Currently the tasks offered are a nuisance, too. Long production time about several hours, and only points in the range from 130 - 170. No wonder, that advancing is that laborious. Yes, I will go one step further and say this: It's a chore. Tbh, if I wouldn't be eager for the last booth I'd finished the event premature.
Due to unreasonable tasks I am not finished yet, it will take another day, at least. Meanwhile I am sick of it, really....😕

At the rate I was able to collect holly during the first week of the boat event, I didn't think I'd get enough to buy everything I wanted from the catalog. So I just bought the permits and the yule goat. If I'd known we'd be having another event where I could get so much more holly, I'd have bought more things the first week, including the hot chocolate booth. I wish they'd open up the whole catalog again so we could buy the things we didn't get the first time because of the lack of communication about what was going to happen. Their "surprise" didn't turn out well for me.

So I just bought the permits and the yule goat. If I'd known we'd be having another event where I could get so much more holly, I'd have bought more things the first week, including the hot chocolate booth. I wish they'd open up the whole catalog again so we could buy the things we didn't get the first time because of the lack of communication about what was going to happen. I did get the hot chocolate booth but I didn’t get the Yule goat. |

Because we had no idea if we would be able to use or earn more holly after the end of the boat event, none of us made the purchases we might have. Also, I suspect I was not the only on who was in an absolute frenzy keeping the gift wrap machine working and loading boat crates hoping to get enough holly to cover the catalog items I most wanted in case the holly-earning options ended with the boat event. I would have enjoyed the whole process more if I had been a bit more relaxed. A number of folks who have posted here mentioned that they had decided to kick back and do what they could with two gift wrap slots and without calling boats early. Of course, SC was depending on people like me to toss diamonds at the event, but it was not in the spirit of the season to keep the second event a “surprise”.

On one hand, yes the communication plan is chaotic this year with the "new" stuff introduced. On the other hand, I never doubt we would not have enough Holly to buy the whole catalogue (or at least half of it), even with their confusing communication. Back then, I don't have an official source to prove what they plan for the future but based on their reaction of Oktoberfest Task event and different action (or no action), I have already guessed what's going to happen. As I said in a post, they made the Catalogue for us, they gotta give us a way to earn them. Had I known about your doubts or question, we could have a debate about decision making (no logic required so BG could join us  ) . Or discussing about what could have been clarified with Support. Or even team up to share crates from our minis... For a future event then. I bought 3 extra slot (for a total of 5 slots just so that I don't need to login all day) and fill neighbors + mini + random farm crates. No boat rushing here. My machine was at 69/72 h (2nd Star) when it stops working. Kept only 1 gift on purpose (could have used it) to monitor when it would vanish from barn. |

Although I did not spend diamonds calling boats I did many more boats than normal and a lot were those I would normally send away unfilled. It was definitely not relaxing or even that enjoyable. |

Well said all and I totally agree. I’m still finishing the event should have it done today or tomorrow morning. The one positive thing I did enjoy was only needed 4 planks to upgrade so buying the 5 enabled my barn upgrade.
