What is your experience?
I do wheat here and there but you can only do this for a few rounds then your silo will fill up. Obviously, 2 minute grow and 5 minute DD ad. Usually, wheat sells even at full price but it just grows too fast. You can get lucky if a visitor buys a bunch.
I tried corning because I thought at 5 minutes, it will match the ad. However, they don't sell fast. If someone happens to buy the slot with the ad, then silo will fill up fast.
I now do mostly soybeaning. At 20 minutes, this works out well because that is about the frequency I log into the game when I am not busy. Soybeans sells fast at full price. In addition, this is a good way to build wealth .

Depends on why you harvest crops. For me it’s the drops. 3 drops every 2 minutes.
One of my feeders makes hay bundles nonstop. The other the food I need during the day. And the bakery is making 🍞 nonstop.
Wheat sells fast at default price. And the visitors buy it almost always if it’s the number 1 or 2 crop in your silo.
For me the corn and soy aren’t worth the work with regard to drops. The surplus drops I trade or sell at max price.
Besides all the above things the drops I get from wheating give me enough mining tools to get the daily amount of diamonds from the mine.
Hope the above is clear. 😉👍

I grow soybeans since it matches my attention span and it sells fast. Wheat demands too much constant attention.
I only do wheating when I fill my mills up at night to make sanctuary feed.

I rely on the farm visitors to buy my wheat. I often will keep them waiting for a while until my silo is full at 8550. That seems to help keep a stream of farm visitors asking for large quantities of wheat. I also keep all other crops below 200, unless I’ve taken a crop derby task or am dealing with a farm pass goal that makes me grow more onions or something. 😂 The only time this doesn’t work is when the farm visitors ask for decos, which really disrupts the game for me.

What about carrots, sugarcane or oats?
How do they fair?
Have to admit that unless it's for a specific task I don't normally bother growing extra crops 😅
But I'm sure I read (a looooong while back) that carrots where a good one for [Speed:Price:Ease of selling] ratio
And now oats are in the picture with a similarly short grow time

Oats isn’t. I will stick with wheat unless we get a crop that grows even faster. All for the drops. 😉 and again, ask yourself what the reason is for growing crops. Making products, profit? For me it’s just drops and liked mentioned by blackbrit, the deco buying visitors are a P in the A. That 10 day event we had sometime ago almost killed my joy in playing Hayday. 🤔😂

Sometimes long lasting over night (for selling and getting money). Or sometimes for a derby task. But wheating over a long time can be very boring. Would be curious how long you wheat every day to get so much drops - especially much enough for the mine?

I really only grow extra for farm pass or derby tasks.

I tried wheating again today and like always, I ended up with over a thousand wheat with silo full. The visitors asking for wheat are few and far between. Basically, I need to wait and wait until I can post another ad to clear my wheat inventory.

Basically, I need to wait and wait until I can post another ad to clear my wheat inventory. I’ll share that for whatever reason in the algorithm for the game, I nearly always have one farm visitor waiting and asking for wheat. But I do keep other crops low (under 200 usually) and keep wheat high - generally well over a 1000. I have had these results since having a tiny silo - using whatever the numbers would have been with the smaller silo. I only wheat when I am doing other tasks, so it’s not tedious for me. Only 50 plots are usually devoted to wheat. The other 150 plots grow the other crops I need.
