Oh dear. Well, if they wanted to make hardcore players disgusted with them, they have found another way to do it. I tend to be pretty even tempered about these things, but certain sorts of developer behaviors really get get my goat. This event contains so many of them!

I am glad having quit the event in the beginning. However, this thread is very interesting, helpful and I think also suitable to ease the mind due to have the possibility to vent a little bit.

I can fully understand your intention to go through this event until it's finished. If I'd be in your situation I would do the same. But I made my decision to skip in the very beginning.

The next event is in the waiting loop. The moon-cake event. 😉

Can’t tell how much I thank each and all on the forum. The experimentation the input here has been an absolute help to read. As I said the other day have decided to focus on doing tasks that are what I call worthy. Ones that require diamonds to make items or jams that require beyond that time. You get my drift. What I can say the last 140 event I spent more diamonds on. It opened up more challenging it was able to be done without framing me into a weekly box time. Like many busy. It felt fun so that feeling encouraged me to spend a few diamonds to refresh the board to complete in the time frame. But this one from the day one seemed like an insult to me also so the vibe caused me to think no I’m not spending diamonds. What I can say is after I decided to just do tasks I felt worthy it felt so good to go back to producing and cropping the things i needed on the farm. I’ll be cheering on the ones from the side lines that are powering on and getting tips for next round.

First of all, thank you BG for the walk down memory lane.  IIRC, I became interested in learning more about Finnish culture and Supercell culture around 2016.  This was also the year Supercell published its fourth hit game, Clash Royale.  There were also reports online Supercell was for sale by its parent company Softbank based in Japan.  I didn't pay much attention until Reuters reported it.  Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen later joked it was the worst kept secret in the industry. 

What I found fascinating is the Tencent President traveling to Helsinki to negotiate the sale with Supercell's founders, one of which is Mr. Paananen.  I wondered why a prospective buyer would meet with the people who made hit games unless to learn more about their culture.  Apparently, Supercell and Softbank had an agreement to allow Supercell "operational independence" and if Supercell were sold to another company, the buyer must agree to grant the same "operational independence" to Supercell.  This isn't a foreign concept to Tencent because it granted operational independence to other gaming companies it owns.

After the sale to Tencent was completed, Mr. Paananen blogged on the Supercell website that it has "operational independence" just as it did with its former owner Softbank.  Moreover, the company will stay in Finland and pay taxes in Finland because "it's very important to us".  I remember posting at the time Tencent understands Supercell culture and will be patient and won't kill the goose which lays the golden egg.  Two years after the sale, Supercell would publish its fifth hit game, Brawlstars.

Sadly, Supercell hasn't published a hit game in almost five years.  I'm speculating the following. Perhaps the largest video game company in the world has grown impatient and invoked the clause in the contract which allows Tencent to interfere with the "operational independence" of Supercell by changing the feed of the goose.  Perhaps Tencent would like Supercell to increase the flow of revenue by squeezing more profits from its current portfolio of hit games.  If so, I'd like to suggest they don't squeeze the goose too hard or else it would expire.

I did try one last time for a bonus task. It was to feed a kitten for 100 points. I didn’t have a kitten. Like, really?

I have participated in the event it hasn't been easy with so many other things going on
But happy about it so far and currently on 13500 points so think I will manage to get last threshold.

Mine has a timer with 9 minutes left on it. Daily usually resets at 4 pm Perth aussie time which is in 9 minutes so let’s see when it clicks over. Seems to be another bug

I’ve now got 14 tasks queued and 6 on the board. My tasks in the board are low points, however.
So I’m not sure adding 5 more tasks will help me reach the 15,000 goal.
One is 6 popcorn for 30 points/pretzels.

Came on here to query too.  My circumstances are a little different.

I had two tasks left on a board I did not finish.  Meaning I hadn’t trashed any tasks yesterday but had two tasks left to complete the board.  Just tried to finish them before the board reset (at the time 35 minutes were left).  The two tasks were “pick up product tasks”.  I grabbed a task and then PICKED UP THE PRODUCTS FOR THE OTHER TASK!🤦‍♀️😤

I picked up the right products and, annoyed, trashed the wasted task.  That’s when the queued tasks started counting down.  There were two countdowns.  The timer to the task reset and the queued tasks themselves.  I continued trashing each time the 5 minutes expired to see what would happen, including what would happen when the tasks reset. And the queued tasks continued to count down.

At the very end, I had two “extra” tasks on the board. One, really if you take into account I had had to trash one of my regulars.  

Since I started typing this, the regular tasks reset and I only have “14 in queue”.  Hopefully someone brainier than I can figure out what all this means because I’m at a loss.

And whether or not this is how SC intends the event to work will become very apparent soon enough because now with all the reports the cat is out of the bag. And yes, this is a hearken back to the Derby change they foisted on us without a by-your-leave all those years ago.  But I’m not bitter.😆

My experimental trashing yielded a 450 point “feed 45 cows” task.  Since the reset I’ve gotten two 250 point tasks.  The others are the usual 60, 80 and 100 points.  Perhaps it will get better these last 2 days though.  In any event, the accordion pig is now in sight.  Yay. Small victories.😊😊😊
