On day 1 I was horribly saddened that there was an event with really cute deco that I wouldn't get. Then more tasks were added to my que... hope grabbed me that I might get to a prize or 2..... As time went by, I guess I kind of missed the info that we could actually DO more than 10 tasks...
So, I trashed the lower ones in hopes of those high pointers. Then for some reason something clicked this morning with the 20 tasks. TaaaaDaaaaa... I did them all and will complete the whole thing tomorrow. I need just 330 pretzels/points.
Thank you to all that posted here to give feedback and share info!

Well I don’t know whether to smile or cry. I was so done with this event, but now competitiveness might just make me try to finish it. Arrgghh. Likewise 🤣. It seems that SC knew I was done and decided to give some better tasks, animal feed and sanctuary tasks. I am on approximately 13790 points at present so I may get there yet. I think the players that quit doing the Octoberfest event, should make a run for it. I think SC heard us loud and clear, about the tasks being really long and for few pretzels/points. (Ex: 3 jams for 100 pretzels/points). Today, we have 20 tasks. I imagine as well for tomorrow. The tasks are doable and for more points. The longest task I had so far today, was to make 3 necklaces for 360 points/pretzels. I also got feed 5 sanctuary animals for 500 points. Sadly, not everyone is so fortunate although maybe tomorrow it’ll pick up. For example: Right now I’m doing the 450 pretzels cow task. I did the 250 pretzels task earlier. The rest of the board (pretzels) is 30, 60, 80, 90 and 110. So not great. Still 10 away from the pig. But I will get the pig.😊 My husband has not had the same luck and he has given it away.

Congratulations! Well, my decision not to have sanctuary animals hit me hard this time 🤣. Not something that can be solved in a short time though. 11500 threshold is reachable, and with some luck, maybe 13000 at the end of event. In summary about daily quota, if I follow correctly Day 1: 10 tasks Day 2 to 5: 15 tasks Day 6: 20 tasks Day 7: probably 20 tasks. Ongoing task when new task set kicks in is counted in the new daily quota task.
I had "low" expectations going into this event and my target was also 11500 to get this puzzle piece. I have dozens of Tom boosters and don't collect deco. After a rough start as everyone it ended up being just fine, and actually not requiring too much time commitment - although I did have to be patient and confident that maybe I'll get at some point some tasks better than those pesky 3-jam-for-80-points . Just launch the production and collect later in the day.
Here are my stats: * Day 1: 8 tasks for 820 - average 102.5
* Day 2: 14 tasks for 1910 - average 136.4 * Day 3: 14 tasks for 2680 - average 191.4 (nice day!) * Day 4: 14 tasks for 1770 - average 126.4 * Day 5: 15 tasks for 2030 - average 135.3 * Day 6: 12 tasks for 2300 - average 191.7 (another nice day!)

I’m also finished with the last 3 items completed overnight. Over this event I needed no trashing, no extra tasks, and spent no diamonds. I had my share of luck, with the only jam task stacked and ready for collection. I did need to keep a list of tasks in preparation with their end time, in order to known when to login again. Overall, it took a lot of time, and with the farm pass and valley completed, it’s time for a breather.
Well done all who have finished, and good luck to those still going.

I finished it! I consider it a miracle. No deleted task, did not spend any diamonds and did every task. The downside of all of this is that I probably look like the Grand Master now! Hate to see what I will look and feel like after this weeks power derby.
Good Luck to everyone

First of all, congratulations to everyone who completed the event or will complete it in the next 26 hours. I just completed it and it wasn't fun but challenging indeed. My motivation wasn't getting 15,000 pretzel points or the Oktoberfest table. I wanted to find out if event is Free to Play friendly, so I decided to grind to the finish line without using diamonds. I was trashing tasks less than 100 pretzels until I realized unlike previous events, there weren't 1000 tasks in the queue. Then I stopped trashing tasks on Day 3. As a casual player, my routine is to log in about three times a day. I adapted by changing my routine to more than three times a day. Congratulations to Team Hay Day if they intended to make casual players like me more active. BTW, I'm placing the Oktoberfest table on my farm as a reminder of the following post. justhayday.boards.net/thread/2050/oktoberfest?page=3&scrollTo=47674

I am very happy to hear that you all had the chance to finish the game in a timely and more comfortable manner as it seemed to be in the beginning. 👍
It's probably that SC listened to our complaints and adapted a still challenging event accordingly to give everyone the opportunity to get the final reward.
Difficult beginning but conciliable ending! ❤️

donkeyfanThanks for the informations about the moon event coming up. I will take it with caution. We will see soon. Haven't seen the decos, yet. I think I will have a look and then decide what I do. This event was hard. Above all because of the frustrating beginning. I appriciate the reaction of SC to add more tasks and react to the feedback of the players. But I also think the informations could be better. The tasks were added secretly without any information. And as someone else mentioned before. What does this help, if anyone can't play much in these two last days. Would wish a more constant event. But SC made it possible. So I will have a look what the moon is bringing to us. I'm pleased to be able to say that I've completed the Oktoberfest event, at last. As others have observed, it's not been easy. For me it's meant changing radically my way of farming. Today I was blessed with a 500-prezel task for feeding 5 sanctuary animals (easy, as I always keep them awake but hungry), and a 500-prezel task for waking 5 sanctuary animals (I woke up the 5 I'd just fed). I hope everyone else gets high-value tasks to help them finish. Here's my Oktoberfest celebration: Congratiolations to you and all who have finished it. For me there are some points missing. So I should finish today with the new tasks. Your Oktoberfest area looks really nice. I like it. I am thinking about to buy the prezels picnic to. Looks so great in this combination. I would like to arrange it in the same way like you. (Hope thats ok) Congratulations! Well, my decision not to have sanctuary animals hit me hard this time 🤣. Not something that can be solved in a short time though. 11500 threshold is reachable, and with some luck, maybe 13000 at the end of event. Ongoing task when new task set kicks in is counted in the new daily quota task. Think you have counted the days a little wrong. Yesterday (20 tasks) was day 7 in the event and today its day 8. So we had 15 tasks until day 6 And day 7 and maybe 8 with 20 tasks. I will be interested to know if those who are trashing tasks will be able to finish without buying extra tasks. Thanks, Frog, for your diamond cost schedule! I have trashed round about 1000 points. And I think I will finish today. So trashing with caution should be possible. But not to much. I only deleted that one I can't solve (pets I don't have, and once the time ran out and so I carried over to the next day which means you miss the tasks) First of all, congratulations to everyone who completed the event or will complete it in the next 26 hours. I just completed it and it wasn't fun but challenging indeed. My motivation wasn't getting 15,000 pretzel points or the Oktoberfest table. I wanted to find out if event is Free to Play friendly, so I decided to grind to the finish line without using diamonds. Just like me. Exactly me experience with this event and the same motivation as mine.

I have my 20 tasks today, unfortunately if I’m on the game just before my daily task reset something goes astray with tasks. It happen couple of weeks ago with the farm pass extra points missed out that day on the points. Contacted help they told me it was a bug and they fixed it. Same thing happened yesterday only 9 task appeared contacted help they assure me it’s fixed again. Hoping to get my second pig will be happy with that. We live and learn to grow stronger.

Sorry you have one of ‘those’ bugs. I have ongoing problems with the last helpers bar not showing who helped and had the same thing - a bug and was fixed but sadly it is not and has been that way for months now. Much to my surprise I have finished the event thanks to a several animal feed and sanctuary tasks. I did spend a few diamonds to speed things up and I watched videos and used some boosters. I found the event frustrating overall and will think twice before I do another the same. After the derby is done I will be having a rest I think.

Pop up says extended until October 28. That's an extra month to finish. Or, did the mean to say September 28?

Poor decision made by SC to extend the event by 2 days. I am glad for all the players that now have the chance to finish the event and reach final deco threshold.
But how are they gonna compensate the players that spend diamonds (and real money to get them) for additional tasks and/or to complete tasks faster so they had the possibility to get to the end?
Don’t give me that it’s a players own choice. They changed to rules during the event, which I do appreciate with regard to the players, but to me it seems unfair to the players that support Hayday with real money.
They should have gotten this correct from the get go.

When you complete the Octoberfest event, there will be balloons that will go from the bottom of the screen to the top of the screen. Try to burst as many as you can. You can get extra coins, diamonds, etc… They do raise fairly quickly and there’s about 10 or so balloons. Good luck everyone!!

For those who missed tapping on them: I think you can open the event a second time and it will appear again. Haven't tried it, because I catched it immediatly. But this worked at the previous events and if I remember right Ricky Burnett mentioned it in his video. But it should only work if you tapped nothing when it appeared the first time.

I hope they do not get 600 tables or 600 one of the musicians as compensation if SC happens to decide to give a form of compensation. I have seen a good amount of mess by SC and this one also takes in the top list: complete uncertainty, lack of information (e.g., no idea since when it is 20 tasks - I did not even know) etc. BTW, constantly getting 80 - 100 points tasks for products that require hours and hours. However, I am very happy as I got the unique extremely hard to find map piece for one farm. To celebrate the achievement and especially the amazing gift, I bought 200 times x special offer (5 permits - 475 diamonds) to show my very thanks and loyalty to SC. Good that you are done with the event!

I can only speak for myself, but I'm delighted that Supercell have extended the event.
Whenever a "new" event is introduced things can go wrong; Hay Day is a huge and complex game, built over more than a decade. Add to that the range of players, from newbies to those who have been playing from day 1, and it must be very difficult to factor everything in. Kudos to Supercell for trying! It would be much easier to continue using tried and tested formats for events. I welcome the new ideas that have been flowing recently; long may they continue.
Another game I play frequently offers the chance to extend an event if you haven't completed it. That is always done by spending real money though.
In the Oktoberfest I used some diamonds to experiment with an expired task, so that I could inform forum members. Those who know me will recall that I relish an experiment!
I also used a few diamonds to complete tasks, when it suited me, but that was my choice. I do buy diamonds occasionally, as well as the Farm Pass each month. I enjoy playing Hay Day, and am happy to make a financial contribution towards its continued development. I really don't feel the need to be compensated on this occasion. 😊

They have enough data from previous events to see what number of tasks is realistic given the time that we players were given. A basic set of rules prior to an event wouldn’t have been that hard to release. The info that was shared was incorrect. I do like new things being brought to the game, yes please. Analysis of big data isn’t that hard and you can adjust prior to the release of a new event. Same with global events etc. the fact that other games give the option to extend for money is irrelevant in my opinion, cause you know that from the get go. During the October event people spend money because they wanted the final reward. Would they have spend money if they knew they had two more days? Most likely not, and that’s the point I was trying to make. I am still pleased for all players that now will be able to complete the event.

I see the point for both here.
I don’t know whether we’ll get “compensation” or not, but I did spend more diamonds than needed because I really wanted to be sure I’d finish, because of multiple long and/or low point tasks and limited ability to trash things. As a result, I chose not to get the drindl(?) pig for 59 diamonds. I’ll live, but it still makes me a little bit sad that I couldn’t get the whole set.
Just glad I finished this morning, finally.

I would like to wave to all the guest and members reading us and participating in this thread. Hope it was helpful to you.
Going to crosscheck a few info before posting my thoughts.
My farm has been blessed with many production task at 300+ pretzel todays. I suspect a change in such task frequency along with the extra days. Or I am lucky.

Waving back at all of you. Thanks for this really informative and interesting thread. I've been super busy so only reading and not commenting on this until I opened HayDay today and see the extension. I gave up on the task after getting to 1300 pts (got an expansion permit at least), and I don't regret that decision. The deco wasn't worth the stress and time for me personally. I do wish SC had realistic goals and stuck to them instead of constantly changing the # tasks and now the days. I wasn't even bothering with the event and found it frustrating that the rules changed a few times. Lily77, how lucky that you got that rare map piece!

They should have gotten this correct from the get go. Respectfully agree to disagree with all but your last sentence. This is from someone who spent a ridiculous amt of diamonds across several farms, many by accident. Most frustrating at the time was when I woke up to see that one farm still had its task up and expired even though I swear I did it… I think it was from switching too fact on scid. So I paid 10 diamonds to extend that task and then cleared the remaining one without realizing I had to retake the stupid task. By the time I was done it was ~20 diamonds just for that. And countless more on other farms, usually at midnight when I was too damn tired to stay up later and finish tasks. And all that was just to try for the pigs. Not everyone is lucky enough to be retired, or have a job that allows them to pop on during the day, or can even play every day at all re. family situations etc. Really, this event was a major debacle and, worse, it was unhealthy bc of staying up late or getting up early to start some tasks…. A game shouldn’t force people to choose between healthy sleep/life and and an event. So you are completely right, it should have been designed better to begin with. But we will all forget about some diamonds in a few days. We would not have forgotten the majority of player base missing the target, many people being totally burned out, and a bad feeling all around for a long long time, perhaps years. Some of us oldies still remember the cotton shirt drop box debacle of 2013 hahaha. So even though I will be finished today, even spending some more diamonds to get the table bc I just can’t even take another day of this lol, I am glad that SC listened to the players and made us feel heard.

I’m going to buy it on my main farm to support the game, and I need more diamonds soon. The pathetic part is I think I’ll be too tired to even put the new decos out now. 😂😂
