You all may have seen this email recently, but I wanted to post it here so everyone is aware of the change to come on Sept 1, 2023.

Nope. Hadn’t seen it. Thank you!
Edit: Now I have a question. If for any reason you lose your email account or can’t get in…forget the password…haven’t used it for so long that the host deactivates it…any reason…do you lose the game associated with it?

I'm hoping that more information will become available if/when SC posts this on their social media channels, as I'm sure players will have more questions about this.

If for any reason you lose your email account or can’t get in…forget the password…haven’t used it for so long that the host deactivates it…any reason…do you lose the game associated with it? There is an option to change the email address associated with the Supercell ID account. In the game tap on "settings" (found on the "three bar button"), then on the "connected" button for Supercell ID. That opens up a menu where you can tap on a settings cog wheel. A new menu opens up. There are options there to change the farm name, and/or the email associated with it. I haven't tried changing the email, but it's good to see that such an option is available. There are also other options available, including one called "Account Protection" which says "add an extra layer of security to your Supercell ID account". I haven't tried that yet, but I probably will. I hope this helps. EDIT: I've now tried changing a baby farm's name, and it happened very easily, which is reassuring.

Cowslips I have a question regarding the opion for more security. (Account Protection) I didn't tried this, because I am afraid what happens if I get a problem with the connected e-mail-address. Will I ever get my account back? The Account Protection is a good thing for unauthorized access, I like this very much. But I am anxious regarding the e-mail-address. A lot is possible, sometimes I can't do anything about it if the provider e. g. desides to make some changes, whatever it may be.
Due to this I don't dare to use it. Have you tried this option with one of your farms, or someone else? I'd appreciate it to know how this works. THX for letting me know!

Additional to my previous posting...
There is/was an issue with a member in the German HayDay forum.
Despite using the Account Protection her ID was hacked. She has due to this no access to her farm anymore. To make things worse she is playing about 9 years and level > 100. The one who hacked her ID/ account changed everything, e-mail, phone-number. She has therefore no access to her ID anymore.
Contacting support wasn't helpful as well although she proved the ownership of her HayDay account through several documents, such as farm-name, purchases and so on. Nothing helped.
I am not sure how it was technically possible to gain access to the ID. I assume the e-mail account which was connected with the farm was compromised. I have no other idea. If this is true, it's difficult respectively impossible to get the account back. But I want to clarify it's only an assumption from my side. Of course there are other ways to take possession from someone's e-mail address.
This issue confirms that the Account Protection is basically a good idea but you should not rely on it. Despite from the fact that yourself are responsible for the security of your e-mail address and a secure password remains a rest of uncertainty. I am referring to what I mentioned in my previous posting, if the provider from my e-mail account is gonna change something.
As for me I won't use the Account Protection. In case of a problem you are really alone.
BTW, it's my decision. Perhaps there are other opinions. If yes, I'd appreciate it to hear them. I think this object is worth for discussing. 🙂
