One idea for Hayday- add a new production building where you can take the trees you chopped down and turn them into lumber. And add another to make furniture from the lumber and maybe another to take the chopped down trees & busss and turn them into fertilizer to make trees and bushes grow faster.

Yes! The furniture shop could even offer selections like style of furniture (rustic, contemporary, modern), type of wood (oak, pine, cedar) and the item to make (table, chair, bed, cabinet).
I'd make a cool rustic log pine bed!

Hi nsrreit, welcome to the forum. I like the idea for a furniture shop. But something tells me that as long as they offer the lumberjack package of saws and axes which is purchased with diamonds (SC most popular money maker), I'm afraid it's probably not going to happen. But I hope it will someday.

I'd make a cool rustic log pine bed! Oh, that made me think that the next custom deco could be different style benches! I do like the idea of a furniture shop. RS15 mentioned the lumberjack that gets offered, rarely. Does anyone ever actually buy those? Rent Tom for the day and get so many more saws and axes for a lot less few diamonds. I usually do this, especially after a βhelpingβ event.

My initial thought was that you use the saws and axes to cut down tress, why not just send them to a lumber mill to make boards and then store the boards and turn them into different furniture. I seem to be cutting down a lot of olive trees and others, why not put them to good use. That could also offer the game to add new types of trees for lumber only- pine, oak, maple...

I think adding new types of trees specifically for the lumber might be the only way this gets done. As you suggested, oak, maple, (we already have pine) would be welcome additions.
One thing we all overlooked is they already offer wood in the game. Planks and wood for barn and silo. Maybe since they are dropped often enough we could utilize those for the aforementioned lumber.

I'd make a cool rustic log pine bed! I really like this idea. As I stated earlier we get wood and planks thru the game regularly. And with the addition of building furniture we can essentially use our boards/planks that to help make room in our barn/silos. Obviously we would need screws or nails to build the furniture so we can use those as well. Also, with the constant addition of wood in the farm pass, it seems this would be a welcome feature.

One additional idea would be to add a steel mill were you could manufacture bolts, nails and screws. You could make them from iron bars from the smelters. And use them to make furniture.

Cannot see us getting a lumber mill...but think a furniture shop machine could work. In another game I play occasionally there is a lumber machine where you use coins to make logs...then there is another machine where you can convert logs into boards and paper etc. These products are then used in various machines to make goods. Alternatively to using coins for logs..buy specific trees to for custom furniture...mentioned above.
