What Tahoe 🐾 said. I’ve taken several breaks from Hay Day. And a few have been several months. The most recent was last year (2022). Just couldn’t be bothered. So yeah. Take your break if you want to. The pigs will still be steaming when you get back - and even if you don’t.😏

Right before the gift machine came out, My hair was on fire because I couldn’t make/keep enough milk and sugar. Both were going full steam 24/7 and still couldn’t keep up. And when I learned about the gift machine, my eyes rolled back and my head started spinning! 🤯😱. And I couldn’t see how I was ever going to keep up!
But then somehow things settled down and I found that I could manage dairy and sugar and gift machine ok. Sometimes it is as simple as choosing some parts of the game to ignore…..such as opting out of derby, or limiting the townies that you serve (only serve the visitors wanting 2 buildings and/or not sending your personal train, for example). Or don’t do trucks, or don’t do boats. Hay Day players have options!
And those options are why there are a number of us who have played for several years are still around.
Before Christmas last year was the most recent time I felt like I needed to quit. With this game, you can take breaks as needed. Your game is not dead because you want/need to slow down or even quit for a time. When you return from your hiatus, no matter how long it’s been, you find the same happy, sunny upbeat place and you can pick up where you left off.

Thanks guys, yeah am having this week off. Have been playing for a long time to, around 8-10 years I think lol, on & off. Have had breaks before, the longest for around a year, came back around when the sanctuary started.

I have been barely playing this week too. I completed the derby and decided to cut back. I may farm once a day but that is it. Next week will be similar as I have other commitments and feel I need a break. I do think it was the gift event, that in my opinion was too long, that has in part caused me to back away.

Yes, a lot going on right now. It’s okay to take a break when you need it—it’s a game and is supposed to bring enjoyment and relaxation, in my opinion. 😊
Others like constant activity/stimulation and challenge.
Whatever our playstyle, I feel like it’s important to try to pace ourselves so we don’t get too far into something like burnout from it, From any game, for that matter. Not that I’m consistently great at doing so, but I try, lol.

I've farmed for several years now, and have never felt the need to take a break, BUT, I do not participate in all the events and things there are to do. I don't do the derby for example...I did when it first was added to the game, and I liked it until they added the ability to buy advancement with diamonds...that's when I stopped. I recently decided to stop getting puzzle pieces because I couldn't keep up with making enough feed for all the sanctuary animals so no more boats for that. I only do boats when there is a global event that has a prize worth the work. I do complete the free Farm Pass each time. I do the Valley but only just what I need to do to get whatever prizes I want each Valley season. I fully serve my Town, I really enjoy that area! In other words, just do what you like and enjoy and skip the events that are too difficult or stressful. Just do what's fun!

I think it was the present machine lol but I am a bit Hay Day exhausted, cannot seem to be bothered playing much this week 🤷♀️🥱😴 I agree. I feel burnt out right now. It was too much all at once, even though I got all the scrolls and chick vouchers, which made me happy. And because my game is a mess I had to deal with that trying to get the derbys done. I lost several production tasks and had to start over.

You're not alone. I felt the same. Sometimes you're supposed to take a break. After that you feel better.
