Some poor soul, “X”, asked to join my NH using the in-game feature. I choose to play by myself so I said no. To my dismay, I found out that I “Rejected X”. Now I don’t know if X saw that notification but…
I SUGGEST that we could use the word “Declined” (my first choice) or even “Denied” (second choice) instead.
It’s not a big deal and the result of all those words is the same, but rejected just feels a little hard.

I agree, and even suggested on the old forum that we could possibly send a message to the requestor stating why we have chosen to not accept their request (i.e. I prefer to play solo etc.) Noone wants to feel "rejected"!

What I have been doing is change hood to invite. Then when I want new hoodies I change to request to join. I also don't like to reject anyone sounds harsh. That what works for me.

I thought about that but I have game friends that join briefly for different reasons every now and then. Invite stops them from simply requesting and makes it so we have to find each other and make arrangements to let them in.

I have those messages in my chat as well. The opposite is „accepted by ...“. Maybe it’s just an insensitive translation, maybe it doesn’t sound so harsh in other parts of the English speaking world. But I put my hood to „invite only“ as well, last time I had to „reject“ somebody.

My baby farm got an invite into another hood a week or so ago, it is still showing. Not sure how long it will last there but maybe you can invite those farms so they can come and go when they wish..just an idea.
