Since the Fall update, whenever I put something back into storage, I am receiving the "new item" notification. It goes away after I tap on that tab.

at first, that's how it worked for me on some new ones.
until i unlocked a stonemason's decoration (customizable) yesterday as a farm pass prize. it was flagged in the stored decorations. ok, looked at it, clicked it. the * did not go away. I placed the decor. * went away. I put it back into storage and the * was back. this is starting to get annoying. i didn't want to develop it, so saw no reason to keep it out.
so I placed it again in an out-of-the way spot. hid it with other prize trees and other trees. left it overnight.
I stumbled upon it this morning, and decided to see what would happen if I put it back into storage. not only did it * that decor, but everything else with it that I put back into storage. I went from '1' to '4'. after about a minute the number of flagged items reverted back to '1'.
I pulled it out again. this time developed it one stage. then put it back. and guess what? the * is back.
as bugs can go, i guess this isn't the worst thing that can happen in the game, but it is annoying as heck.

Although I mostly dislike this new "feature" I have to admit that one or two times since then it was useful. This was the case when I (again) started to re-arrange an area of my farm. (The pets) I didn't had to search and to sroll and vice versa. The game led me in an instant moment to the wanted item. That was nice. On the other hand it happens very often that the feature appears and I have no use for it. This are the moments it's bothering me. Nothing is perfect, isn't it? |

I do not have enough developped custom deco to try, I’m suggesting:
- if you have 1 custom deco you want to place, out it into storage with other custom deco of the same kind, such as all custom tree
- all of them would be marked with a red star as new
- move the one you want to place out
I expect all the red star on these item would go away. At least that’s how I can see with my only developped custom deco.would love feedback from anyone else trying with each steps you do.
Of course, it’s not the solution but at least would help while waiting for the optional update fixing this one.

This is almost exactly what happened with mine, but it took me a while to notice it. I got the notification and I wasn’t sure why—it didn’t take me directly to the starred item (I appreciate when it does). I scrolled through my “deco” list multiple times and couldn’t find anything that was starred. I had to try all of the different categories until I found the star and realized it was the custom deco. I put it out and the notification went away. Put it back in storage, notification came back. This happened a few times. On some later visits to my farm today, there was no notification. It seems to come and go? |

on the off-chance that it might work, i totally shut down HayDay from my running apps on the iPad. Guess what! the * is gone!
