It would be great if there was a way to "reserve" your next derby task by putting your name or just "reserved" on the task while it is still on the derby board. Right now we put comments in chat to let others know what task we plan to take next. This allows us to working ahead on long lead-time tasks (e.g., baking cakes or pies) before actually taking the task. But, this doesn't always work. Inevitably, someone doesn't read the comments before taking a task or the task gets deleted. The reservation could expire, maybe within 24 hrs, if the task isn't eventually taken.

This sounds like a great idea for the purpose you mentioned. It would solve the taken or deleted tasks issues that sometimes happen, even with only two of us derbying.
I wonder if there might be any complications with something expiring in 24 hours when derbies are so time-sensitive. Really no idea. Any experienced derby players out there with thoughts on that?

We just had a player in our NH leave because of the deleted task issue. May seem petty, but they spent hours making carrot cakes. Also not sure about the 24hr time limit. It just seems like the reservation should be time bound in some way. Also limited so 1 reservation per neighbor. I would leave it to Super Cell to figure out the specifics. Just need something better than a comment in chat that gets lost.
