I’ve finally decided to develop a baby farm, but I have a question. Once you have one up and running, and it gets to the point when it can join a neighbourhood, can I join it to my single player hood? I feel that I need another farm to help with dairy production, and would like easy access to the second farm. tia

I have several babies, most of which are in my neighbourhood. I use mine as a good source of townies, which helps my hoodies with Derby tasks, but other players use them differently. It's all down to what suits you.

With my "baby" farm, there will be a time when it is not such a baby anymore. Level 100+. Then it sometimes compete with my main farm for expansion items. Like barn storage on which one needs it more. Oh well. Maybe I am playing both wrong.

I only have one farm, so others who have more than one can maybe give you advice, like Cowslips did with the town. I wonder if some people have developed “efficient” ways to upgrade two farms at once, or things like that. Especially since in the last few years there has been a daily limit on buying EMs that wasn’t an issue years ago.

I have 2 baby farms.
1st thing I did as soon as I could was check and then search for the farm tag number so I could add the baby farms as friends to my main farm.
The biggest baby farm I invited into the neighbourhood as soon the town opened up
(My main reason for baby farms was a supply of townies to take)
(MAKE SURE YOU OPT THEM OUT THE DERBY VIA THE SETTINGS IF YOU DONT WANT THEM TO BE IN!)
The smallest baby farm still hasn't made it quite as far as the town yet but has been part of the neighbourhood for a while anyway
I'm not great at remembering to play them very often, I dip in to spin the wheel and collect freebies
If I find myself a few bolts short of an upgrade I'll likely 'borrow' them from one or both baby farms
If I need say bread for a boat order I'll have all 3 farms make at once to speed up production
If the pass Road tasks are easy I'll set those up to be completed
I've not really bothered with a valley for them yet
But the main thing for me is that the biggest baby farm has currently 11 new visitors I can poach with every new train 😁

Hi scousebird1878THX for your thread as this may be interesting for other members who are considering to establish a second farm or not. My 1st baby was "born" a half year after my main farm. Meanwhile I managed level 93. In the next level I'm able to plant plum trees. I'm looking forward to it. Main reason for a baby was to back up my main farm. Therefore I took care to level up quickly. Second thought was to have the most important machines twice to be more independent. Due to this my baby has nearly every machine possible. With the exception of the very expensive ones, such as tea stand and the following machines. I didn't bought them because those on my main farm are sufficient. That's perhaps an aspect you should consider when you're leveling up. Not every machine is necessary as the demand for the products is not very high. Over time you are getting a feeling for this. My 2nd baby is currently level 63. When I began to develop this farm I took care for the original trees, stones and swamps. I tried to place my machines in a way without cutting original trees and deleting the swamps. It doesn't fit in every case, but mostly. In addition I figured that not every machine is necessary as I stated previously. I was more reluctant and bought only those where I knew that the demand of products would be high. I also took care to develop the town to be suited for derbys which require townies. And of course I use both babys to replenish my stock. Meanwhile it has worked itself out. I won't miss any of my baby, both are important and have their right to exist. HTH!

My babyfarms are there to support main farm. The only reason for me having them is: - visitors for personal train - spawn trigger in valley - back-up in valley to fix truck breakdowns - to get rid of EM’s If I don’t trade them - help to make products that I need to make final products, and products that take long to make - generate helps for plants, trees, boats, trucks
I don’t use them for derby, events, valley (besides what I mentioned), they are there to support and don’t level up fast

Can you elaborate on what you mean by spawn trigger in valley? If he uses same tactic as me, to trigger chicken and animals at desired spot in Valley. They spaw around (within a few nodes) active trucks. Must login those farm often.

Every valley map has a favorite spot for me to park my main farms truck. That’s close to drop off points for animals. My babyfarms are in close by. If I move them one spot the animals will spawn at a for me predictable location nearby my main farms truck. I wrote something about it, including screenshots on this forum where it works for me. only disadvantage for me with valley we have this season is that other users try to pick up the animals faster, while I need them to get the rewards I want. once you know how to do this you don’t have to use a lot of fuel to catch the animals.

I am in awe here, I play the valley but I still am lost on the map. completely disoriented, but then, I am directionally challenged so what would you suggest I do to learn the map and you are saying there are different maps? How do you find your sweet spot? Are there maps posted online?

I have a second farm (why is it called 'baby'? ) since my son decided not to play any longer, so I took over. it is in the same hood as my main farm but opted out of the derby, except the chill derby. I shovel coins over from my main farm to get the machines when they become available and mainly I use that farm to produce extra items such as soy sauce, jams, any items needing a long time to produce. and I quickly leveled up the town, the extra townies are great. I do spend money for my main farm but not a penny on the second farm, and it is nice to see no money is necessary to have a beautiful farm. So, two farms are plenty for me, I doubt I could handle 3 or more.

No, it’s on other trucks being active. That’s the reason why I have multiple farms, at least I have control when to move the trucks to have animals spawn. If other players don’t move the animals will spawn less. And when you use your main truck farm that will cost you fuel to have them spawn. You might move in the opposite direction looking where your truck is going to have them spawn compared to the direction that you should be going with less fuel to catch them.
