I am getting on with opening land quite well recently. But, I have to invest some diamonds to use every opportunity to get scrolls. There is the valley shop. Well, hard work, but no diamonds needed. There is the lucky bonus in the valley. If you are willing to pay some diamonds when the bomb explodes, you might gain a few scrolls. There is the Derby. If you shuffle, you might get more scrolls.
I am not paying for more goes on the WoF or buy scrolls at special offers in the diamond shop.
You can invest your 24 diamonds in scrolls.

The real time aspect does boggle the mind slightly.
According to wiki fandom a total of 643 expansion permits are needed to open all land expansion permitted land
(That's on top of mallets, stakes and deeds and not taking into account non expansion permitted areas on farm, fishing lake or town)
5 a week = 2.5 years to unlock 4 a week = 3 years to unlock 3 a week = 4 years to unlock 2 a week = 6 years to unlock 1 a week = 12 years to unlock
In my experience if you play derby your likey to get 1 or 2 a week in normal rewards
Plus a bonus 1,2 possibly 3 if your very lucky for a bunny Derby (let's assume 1 in every 4 derbies (since the complaints to reduce) will include bunnies so we could average that out to an extra 1 a week
Then maybe 3-6 extras a month in valley and chick Road (lets say it equates to approx an extra 1 a week overall)
Rarely theres an extra one in a box
Or from a Greg's calendar
Or from special wheel
So even allowing the most generous offering of expansion permits, including paid road and plenty of valley, bunny rewards it is still likely at least 2.5 real years from when they first became available to unlock all spots
Likely closer to 3-4 real years

I think the scrolls are the infinite story..... There was a time when I was very, very eager to gather them. But the game had other plans with me. It started stalling, on every occasion. For example 1 (!) scroll at the end of the valley. Previously I'd done everything to get it. If this occurs nowadays I'll skip it. Another example is the WOF. You want it, but the game won't give it to you. You can spend as much diamonds as you want, you will fail. Most likely. So, which conclusion can we draw? As we can't change the MO of the game, we have to change our attitude. To come to terms that some things need much (!) time to happen finally. Like eternity. Please, don't misunderstand me. Far be it from me to "lecture" you. It's of course your choice. But trying to relax concerning this issue is more healthy and is supposed to put you at ease. It takes some time, I know that from myself, but it's worth the effort. This doesn't mean to give up the scrolls. We should take every opportunity to increase the amount at the part of SC. E. g. participating in the farmpass thread to give some insight and to hope, that some things will change. Perhaps the possibility of gaining more scrolls in the future.

BauldersGate Only 3-4 years? That's fast, better than eternity.

I normally pay diamonds to store my land expansion items as I get them, I now have run out of scrolls and can no longer store my extra land items. I donβt understand why this is even a thing and now understand why higher level farms still have unopened land. Why is it so hard to get this land opened? I was gladly paying 24 diamonds per section of land, Iβm discouraged and not sure if it is worth the effort to open any of it any further. Iβm trying to see the silver lining, this seems like it will be years of playing to complete. I play in a similar way, and held onto expansion permits until I had "banked" all of the other expansion materials needed for the most recent plots of land. Once I had done that I used the expansion permits I had to open as many plots as I could. It took patience while I was doing the banking, as I was itching for some of the decorations that were locked in the plots. I now have just 4 unopened plots, and need a further 60 permits to open those. I do what I can to maximise the number of permits, in a similar way to what other have mentioned. In the past I did reach the point of having all of my land open for a week or two before new plots were released in an update, so it is achievable. I anticipate it's likely that more land will be released soon after I hit that magic point again!
