I wish that when you were farming crops or starting items in the different buildings (mill, grill, etc.) that if you accidentally touched the diamond "instant" button that it would ask "Are you sure" like it does when you make items that include diamonds, or hit send away to a town person. I've lost many, many diamonds from a accidental touch when I'm hurrying and it really irks me.

Tap on the Settings cog wheel, then Advanced Settings. Scroll downwards towards the end, and it's there. You just need to check the box. When I first started playing Hay Day there was no such feature and, like you, I wasted diamonds easily. Whilst the setting doesn't stop every single accidental use, it covers most. I hope this helps.

My biggest wastes have been accidentally adding slots (beyond 6) to net maker and lure maker... and those expansions are so expensive.

And for me it's not understandable why this items are so expensive in relation to other things. The lure maker and net maker are different to all of the other machines in that, once you have slots open, you can produce items for ever, without any cost to your farm. On my main farm (now level 211) I opened up all 9 slots on the lure maker and net maker quite early in my play. That means that I've had free use of those slots for years! I do occasionally use vouchers to make coloured lures but, apart from that, there has been no additional expense in all that time. No ingredients are needed. Fishing isn't my favourite passtime, so it's great to be able to load up the two machines and leave them to it. It's been said many times that one of the great strengths of Hay Day is being able to choose how you play, and that applies to the fishing area too.
