I’m really sad that so many did not have a good derby outcome.
It can be a learning curve to learn the staggered trashing and communicating to choose the best tasks. I have played this in NHs with only 2 derby players, 4 derby players and even 15 derby players. Personally, the one with 4 was actually the best, as it is easy to keep track of what tasks still need to be done. If you only have 2 derby players, it’s more important that you both can devote the time to play at the same time, and get each task done quickly. With 4 players you can have 2 blossom tasks at the same time, but with 2 players, you can only have 1 at a time.

The number of blossom tasks that show up on the board are (number of players + 1) / 2
We use a 30s gap between each individual task trash
If you are wise you start your trash about 25 minutes before the last player is due finish the blossom task that is to be replaced (give the player time to complete the task and trash it when done.
Several times (I know it's naughty) I requested (on the official forum) that the blossom task scores should be something like 401 for the first player, 402 for the second, 403 for the third, etc. then with 15 players if the points being earned is 415 or the task is available at 416 points - the leader knows everyone has done the task (or the last player has it) otherwise it's a nightmare to track if you have over 3 players. (the actual points total doesn't matter one bit - since all neighbourhoods get treated the same). SC will take as much notice of the suggestion here as they did on the official forum.
The other problems are: People not ready for a quick town task (and not saying so) People without tools to mine 99 ores (and not saying so) People who jump in to take a town task - but they still have to get a dozen people through the B&B

I've never even been aware of the staggered trashing of tasks in the Blossom Derby. This is great to know for future derbies. I have a small neighborhood (there are 3 of us), and this new info is a great help to all of us. Thanks to all for bringing this to our attention.

@all If I may summerize this:- blossom derby can be enjoying, but only if decent tasks are available in the foreseeable future - blossom derby requires a very good communication if you don't play solo - blossom derby requires also staggering trashing of unwanted tasks - blossom derby is well known for tasks < 320 points if they are NO-blossom tasks - blossom derby also requires enough time to monitor it So it is quite manageable but you should be aware that many things have to be considered. If you are good with this, ok. If not, you have to reflect whether this derby is right for you. Not to mention that it takes a lot of luck to get decent tasks easy and quick. And not to forget that the rewards may be dissapointing. But that's inherent in every derby. Did I forgot something?

All the above things are for me a reason to play solo with the help of my babyfarms. Opt out means demoted, less derby prices etc.
For me most derby’s are that hard, you need to know the mechanics per derby, and also the staggering system on your machines, and staggered trashing on the task board.

@ducktown21 Either you deal with it, or you have to accept the consequences. I agree with you, but I must admit that I'm too lazy for some things. How I stated earlier I don't like it to spend too much time for monitoring the board. And I'm always interested to finish a derby as quick as possible. But Blossom derby is not the only one I don't like, also Mystery derby is not my favorite. So I'll opt out. This is nothing for me. And I'm full aware of loosing rewards and to be demoted. But this is ok for me. Next time - with luck and a good preparation - we will raise again. And if not, I don't care, and so do my sister-in-law. Nevertheless I'm very thankful for the given advices, especially from you. That may help for another time, who knows?

Lol, I see that the word “not” is missing in a sentence. For me most derby’s are NOT that hard......

My neighborhood enjoys blossom derby because it depends on team work and communication. We all have to work together to do the same 9 tasks before they expire. It's very frustrating waiting for the tasks to be completed but that's part of that derby. The prizes aren't great but there usually aren't. Most play derby for land permits and puzzle pieces. So any chance to get them is great.

My blossom derby experiences from a galaxy not too far away and not too long ago... (Ambitious 2-player hood, CL, derby addicts) - Prepare tasks as usual (baskets etc) before derby starts. This is probably the most ambitious part - Do the staggered trashing thing, but do add some spare time (1 min worked for us most of the time) for ingame-chat whether to do task or rather not - Do extra diamond tasks if required in current competition to stay top 3 Result for us was, we always went 1st with all other hoods waaaay behind. So Blossom was our favorite derby by far those days

My level 61 farm did the Blossom Derby in a different NH than my main farm. There were 4 participating and of various time zones.
I was doing the staggered trashing of the board, and several of the tasks that were coming up were ones that could not be done by my farm because of the level. One I remember was Lemon Curd, but there were several. They do appear with the red slash through the task but not for everyone.
So going forward to the next Blossom Derby, it might be wise to have your lowest level opted in farm be the one that does the trashing. If you have many players, and do tasks such as growing broccoli or producing lemon curd, it would be easy for a higher level player ‘think’ that would be a good task, when in reality could not be done by all of the NH.

Again, thank you very much for all your experiences and your contribution to this thread. Although as RescueSquad15. (RS 15)🪓 stated earlier that this derby and it's handling should be common I still find it not so easy to manage. But I must admit that it is because I don't like it, and I think this won't change the next time. But I'm very thankful for the given advices, not only for me but for many other farmers which weren't aware of some things to be considered. donkeyfan
