Bingo Derby...who is facing the challenge?

Our NH actually really likes the Bingo derby. We start off by trashing any task that is not needed for bingo. Once we start we only do the tasks for bingo, for the most part. Soon enough, the lines that are possible or the ones we would rather avoid become apparent. This would be to get all 3 lines.

Yes, sometimes one of us needs to do goat milk, sheep wool, or bacon, but we save those until absolutely necessary.

We may have as many as 5 participating this week. That would mean that some of the tasks may need to be done 2 times. For a solo player, or up to 3 players, you only need to do the bingo tasks 1 time.

May I suggest, donkeyfan, that you and your sister-in-law (if she is also playing), decide to do only 1 or 2 bingo lines. At least the pressure will not be on quite as much and you get the extra columns of prizes.

Then I'd usually spend a few days prepping for those specific tasks (as much as possible) before I take the 1st

Haven't got less then 3 lines yet, prefer bingo to mystery, at least with bingo you know what tasks are coming once the boards up

Even if sometimes those tasks still suck a little😆

When the bingo derby was first introduced it was necessary to finish the lines at the same time by making a connection at a corner. Now that has been changed, players can finish 3 lines however you’d like.  As you are a solo player with only 10 tasks to do (if you are champions league and get the extra task), choosing 1 horizontal, 1 vertical and 1 diagonal may be the easiest way to approach the bingo derby. Please realize that you would also be able to finish 2 vertical with 1 horizontal or 2 horizontal with 1 vertical. We have finished several of the last bingo derbies by doing just that. It may even give you a better chance at avoiding undesired tasks.  Larger NHs may be able to achieve 3 lines with no intersection,

We have a new hood mate. Only level 17, that got opted in by error. I opted her out last night, she did nothing, and this morning - BAM! - she’s in. And wool & goat milk on the board.

Already have the help, mine and town task on board waiting

Will keep shuffling for the others

Already stacking honey teas, carrot cakes and raspberry muffins

Also growing a few more mushrooms and cucumbers now so can fill full amount of fields when need to

My only problem will be if the tasks I want don't turn up 😅

I'm sorry to read that you have such trouble with the Bingo board. I don't meant to be very smart by skipping this derby but I knew due to my last experience how annoying it could be. Not only "could" but the probability that this would definetely happen was huge.

Finally my sister-in-law and myself are glad not being part in it. I hope for all of you that you can deal with it in the best way and that you get at least proper rewards.

Our NH had many challenges thrown at us this week. First we had more times to complete each task because of a player being opted in that should not have been. Luckily we were able to get our lineup changed to only 5 players, as we had not yet chosen a task when that error was discovered. We only did Bingo tasks until the very end. We start playing and one of our regulars had a family emergency that could have taken her out of the derby. Luckily, all was resolved. She’s our good luck - goat milk lady. Our NH hovered at 3rd place, until last night. I’m guessing the NH’s that were in 1st & 2nd wanted to sleep. Luck was on our side and the 2 tasks that would finish our last 2 lines for us appeared and we were ready. I cannot believe that we finished in first place with all 3 bingo lines.

Theres only been one bingo derby before where it was this bad

In that one I took the needed task at the very last minute but it was at a much lower point value because a 320 version never showed

Mom’sCar, you could do that, but when you play solo that really isn’t an option. At least not for me. I either avoid those tasks or don’t go for max lines.

I took a wool task first thing. It was a corner task so important. We still do not have one line done completed. Bingo tasks have not come up very much. Truck was a bingo. Finished and it keeps coming up as a regular task along with the train task, which was also a bingo task. All sorts of things. 5 bingo tasks have not appeared 1 time. 1 has appeared 1 time. It is very frustrating. Most people just took regular tasks and are done to try and stay in top 3 at the least. So we probably won't complete any lines this derby. It's hard to do it when you don't get tasks.

We have waited all week for pineapple, the salesman, and the lady with the blue hat. We got the pineapple today. We are still waiting on the others. We have done two lines, and always aim for three. One of my delightful hoodies is tearing out her hair. I think she wanted to be done before the weekend. We just need to reassure her she can take something she wants to do, and the rest of us will finish this weekend — which is when the I’m betting SC might let them into the game.

But really? Do they think this is fun? Each of us has trashed close to 100 tasks, though I don’t think it makes a difference. I don’t think SC will release key tasks until they’ve kept us in the derby through the weekend. My evil conspiracy thought is that is also why they are so fond of bunny derbies— it keeps us in all week. Thoughts from a frustrated hood here, though tryng to just let it go.

A second thing is that I dislike being stuck in Bingo. And that's not rare, it happens almost every time. Be it because you have to wait for a task which will not appear, to prepare some machines for requested products or to plant crops for according tasks.

This requires generally so much time that it becomes annoying very quick. In my opinion it can't be that a derby is lasting a complete week. I admit, some challenge can be refreshing (maybe), but the actual derby conditions are way beyond this goal.

In a result I fully understand how frustrating and disillusioning it is. On the other hand you have a choice, you can opt out if you didn't want to go with it. But nevertheless I think it mustn't be in that laborious way.

As I wrote earlier, in previous times it was perhaps too easy, but now it's the opposite. Why don't find a compromise which suits everyone?

I agree with you, ducktown2021, too.

But in my eyes the Bingo derby is too time consuming. That said although I'd had the time. But I'm not in the mood to look always in the game for better tasks, or better said, being busy by deleting unwanted tasks with hope for better ones or those which fit in the Bingo board.

My sister-in-law and I don't care being demoted. We are even considering to sign in for a Mystery derby, if that would happen to appear next week. She has more time then and I'd be glad to support her. But I must admit I'm not very fond of a task which requires x-amount of Frutti di Mare Pizza......
