When you collect it, it shows up again in 25 hours. Then collect that, and 25 hours, and so on.
When it appears, it stays for one hour. If uncollected, it will go away, then come back 4 hours later. Stay for an hour, and so on.
So say it shows up at 8am. If uncollected, it disappears at 9am, but will be back at 1pm. It will stay until 2pm, then go away until 6pm.

So basically if you mistime it, check every hour for the next 4 hours and you can pick up the 25 hour cycle again.
