Dear farmer, In the past I refused to do Mystery Derby because I don't like the "surprises"behind the tasks. Too often it was a bad surprise.
But I've always participated in Bingo derby although it's also possible to get unwanted tasks. My actual Bingo board is not very amusing in my opinion. Despite from 1 mining task, 1 truck task and 1 train for the town I have only long lasting tasks to finish.
For example crops like tomatoes, onions and tea. 
And to my surprise a task with feeding goats. Of course a number of 49, so you are supposed to wait 8 hours for 1 (!) additional goat. I think that's not only not amusing, it's impertinent. I thought that this would be a task that never occurs, because of it's lengths. But obviously I was mistaken.
I deleted it and I hope we (my sister-in-law and myself) can finish 3 rows without the goat thing.
What are your tasks? I hope, better than mine.

I donāt appreciate derby enough to always strive for 320pts. Also itās quite easy to play in my favor by delaying derby start, tweaking derby size, changing derby league. I made a challenge to do only 50pts task on bingo board, or complete tile after tile (so it turns blue) in a specific order to obtain a chessboard patternā¦. Crazy but fun for me.  |

LOL, Frog, that's indeed very interesting and creative. The idea to do so has never occured to me.  I think it's because normally I don't want to relegate and my sister-in-law neither. But it could be fun, perhaps we should give it a try, sometimes.... |

Our Bingo board is not amusing either. To escape the wool task, the goat milk task and growing chili peppers, we would only be able to complete 2 lines of bingo. And still we would need to do fishing, milk and feed. This will be a discussion for my hoodmates. With only 3 playing, to get all the horseshoes, we need to do all 320 and the extra task.
Donkeyfan, IIRC the goat milk task no longer comes up as a mystery derby task, but does still appear in other derbies.

This is most likely the worst Bingo board our NH has had.

Hi MomāsCar, THX for your posting. So we aren't alone with bad tasks. This is reassuring in a way. And thanks for the information regarding to the goat task. I knew that it was deleted from a derby but I didn't know which derby it was supposed to be.  We haven't started yet because we are waiting for more Bingo tasks which are easier to handle. |

Update:
I just decided to begin the Bingo derby. First task of course mining, my sister-in-law is good with it. After that I chose the crop task with tea. I have to harvest 405. The first will be ready at 23:00 pm, next one over night and the last will start early in the morning so that I'm finished about noon.
We want to stay in time. This derby is supposed to be started early enough in my opinion in order to have enough time due to long lasting tasks.

I've already trashed 97 tasks and still have yet to get what I need to get even one bingo. *sigh*  I'm lacking banana bread, feta pie, eggplant, and either sesame smoothie and fish & chips. I've finished the mining and cotton task so really need the feta pie for at least one. Ugh. |

Xanadu Same situation by my sister-in-law and myself. The only activities the last hours was deleting unwanted tasks. We are waiting for special tasks which are fitting to those which we have already finished. But the game knows that and delays finishing. We are not amused but what can we do? Nothing, besides to be patient and waiting...

I doubt our neighborhood manages 1 bingo line this derby. The tasks are horrible. Bacon, Strawberries. Bell Pepper soup, Banana bread, Olive dip, and Fish and Chips all requiring multiples, while tasks like trucks, trains and mining only require one.
The biggest downside to Bingo derbies is there's no real way to prepare ahead for them. You never know what the bingo tasks are going to be, how many items will be required and how many times the task will need to be done to achieve that box.
Sometimes that extra reward is simply not worth the headache.

We made a little step forward. I got recently the wanted tomatoes. The first plant will be ready in the late evening, the second and last tomorrow in the morning. We see light in the dark...as we say in Germany. |

But so far I always always am frustrated and believe we never make it to three lines, I am just not patient enough. "When I saw our board this week I wanted to through the tablet out the window."I didn't know that this saying is also common in the US. I think we can finish 3 Bingo rows but it's becoming tenacious. I am very curious for the rewards. I'll keep you apprised. |

I just get started my second tomatoes run. It will be finished tomorrow early in the morning. After that I have to produce 25 (!) butter popcorn. 9 are ready, 16 to go...  My sister-in-law was fed up about the non-appearence of crops like mush-rooms and decided to take the goat milk task. I admire that. This can last until we are finally finished. |

I used up a lot of resources doing town and truck tasks. Few of what we had prepared have shown up. As it is, we need one task (cotton shirts) to complete two bingo lines. Havenāt seen it once yet.
So it seems there is a choice between finishing in time to place (itās been close between 1-3 all the way along), OR waiting for a bingo line. I donāt derby all the time, so I donāt know whether itās always that way or just unlucky this week, but itās kind of unfortunate that it ends up that way.

We made a step back. When I thought the tomatoes were finished I had to take a closer look. They would have been finished if I had not been blind on my eyes. Yesterday in the evening - yes, it was late - but no excuse...I forgot 14 tomatoes. I didn't took it that I had to use ALL fields for the second row. So, today I have the situation to have to wait another 6 hours for 14 tomatoes. It happens.. Meanwhile I'm also a little bit fed up, but it was my fault. So this derby is supposed to last a little bit longer than anticipated... |

No, it was my fault, but apart from that the Bingo has become somewhat laborious. Please don't get me wrong. I don't care if a special derby like Bingo lasts longer as a "normal" one, but over time Bingo become more and more annoying. Extreme long lasting tasks as 49 (!) goat milk, crops like tomatoes and tea and onions and so on. No chance to finish a row because the game always shows you unwanted tasks or such under 320. And I'm not in the mood to deal with this a whole week. And last but not least I'm pretty sure that permits will lack for me another time. Regarding to the current Bingo board I'd expect 2 permits minimum. So, because this is not supposed to happen, my sister-in-law and myself will finish this derby but it's our last Bingo derby. I think that my sister-in-law is also not very amused. It's a pity, I remember a few month ago that Bingo derby was a lot of fun. We enjoyed it, because the tasks were more balanced and the missing ones showed up in time. But now? Just the opposite. Just my 2 cents.... donkeyfan....dissapointed... |

Hmmmm, didnāt you have a similar experience with the blossom derby? You might consider both of you doing the derby solo, but than youāre missing the advantages (if any, besides the tradingpost) of being in a hood.

ducktown2021This is a point, of course. But I must tell you that I'm so annoyed that I don't feel like it. And, as you know...whether I play derby or not, this makes no differences due to permits. I have to loose nothing, besides my nerves.

Finally got the banana bread task @320, but it's for 27 breads at 3 bananas each and I didn't have enough bananas. Good grief! I had to activate a Tom booster. In the meantime I planted a ton of banana trees for future because they sure won't be ripe in time to finish the task. donkeyfan - I feel your annoyance. |

One bit of good news... shortly after whining about not having a shirt task, one showed up, lol. Now to catch up. I canāt imagine doing derbies alone. All the elements people are finding frustrating, I totally understand. I hope they make things a bit more realistic. (Particularly the āI need to wait for one more round of āyou name itā to complete this task. Back in āxā hours....ā) At least if they have that, it should be on shorter tasks. Thereās a fine line between challenging and frustrating. Hopefully they can get it closer to the first one. |

MommySnooks šÆ Well spoken. I agree. But as long as SC doesn't change anything I avoid it. So do my sister-in-law. She is also annoyed. We "spoke" in chat regarding to this matter. She told me that the goat milk task will be finished tomorrow. Likewise my butter popcorn.

I just want to discuss another approach during Bingo derby: - if you don't have much chance to complete some bingo lines, decide early to reach only 1 line or none at all at take 320pts task to finish fast while other hood are dealing win bingo issues. In derby, the only thing that that matters in the race is to do better and faster than other hoods. - if you don't care about top 3 anyway or being demoted (then climb up after), then why would it be an issue to avoid 320pts task? - if you go for bingo achivement, be advised that the derby player must be online when the line is completed to get the credit in their achievement - if your bingo board requires too many tasks, consider smalller group so you can have less task required per tile. There's a post in Legacy guide giving a few numbers to help you know how many players max is needed. There are lot more challenges to complete 3 lines in Bingo and doing only 320pts task. If I don't have the time to do 320pts task (which I keep havign it expired anyway), I would only aim for 50pts. Trashing task is time consuming enough. |

Hi Frog , thanks for sharing your ideas. But in the moment I'm fed up. I cancelled my last task because I didn't feel like it. I apologized to my sister-in-law because I'm the reason that we will be demoted. Next Monday, when I collected my "rewards" I take a break from derby. I don't know how long but momentarily I can't see it anymore. |

I feel you on the Mystery Derby - I'm also about predictability. But I do love me some Bingo Derby! Sorry to hear your current board is a bummer. Crops can be a drag, especially when they take forever to grow. And that goat task? UGH. Talk about annoying! I hope you and your sis-in-law can knock out those 3 rows without that pesky goat. As for my studies, I lucked out with a couple quick mining tasks and a boat order.
