Event fish inner circle size and others
If you have visited the HOW IS YOUR FISHING GOING..?? thread, you might remember the note from BOROYOB:

These are the 6 current BOARD EVENT fish. Inner circle size is in between the very smallest and medium.I took the screen shot of all available inner circle sizes and aligned the pictures to show the difference between them. I am pretty skeptical, if this in any way is helpful to you but since it's fishing event here they are.

The Fishing map from Wikia (hayday.wikia.com/wiki/Fish):
Note: SPOT #11 (deep, 4h) MEANS SPOT #10 and vice versa in the rest of this post.
Happy fishing everyone!
My 12 fishing spots were open when the event started. I used 11 green lures & 1 red lure and caught 12 event fishes; to get 1 plank, 4 dynamites & 3 golden vouchers for my first 3 rewards.
3 golden vouchers for 11 green vouchers? Hell yeah!
When I used all fishing spots, I was able to collect 135 lbs of fish, the first one on the top contributers list was on 2000+ lbs, and the last one was on 900+ lbs. So the top one used at least 900 diamonds and the last one at least 340 diamonds.
Hints:
Red Lure Event Fish
Red voucher event fish is easy to locate but hard to wait and very hard to catch (just like any other event fish). It only populates in the fishing zone #9 just below the duck salon. Use red lures enough times in that zone and you will eventually spot one there. You can find in your first try or you might not find any in 100 tries. Good luck when you spot it, because it will be hard to catch.
Green Lure non-event fish
If you use green lures, unless it is area 2, 8, 9, 11 or 12, the smallest fish that you can get is rudds, they are extremely easy to catch, even if you put your finger across the screen. They act like bowling ball attached to a rubber band, when you try to drive them. You can't drive them fast and they don't jump on the other side of the screen like rare smallest circle fishes. If you use green lure on area 2, 8, 9, 11 or 12, the smallest circle gives you either a rudd, or a smallest circle rare fish, this time they act like a billard ball attached to a rubber band, when you drive them. You can move them very easily but they jump on the other side of the screen, which makes them harder to catch.
Event Fishes:
The smallest circle ones have a circle size just enough for the fish itself. Event fish circle size has just a tad more room for the fish. And event fishes act like bowling ball attached to a rubber band, and unlike rudd, they jump at the other side of the screen especially when you are close to catch them. And that is frustrating!
Medium Circle size fishes:
If you can distinguish event fishes from, rudd and the smallest circle rare green lure fishes, medium circle size fishes are left to avoid. There are 3 types for green lure and they all are much easier to drive. And they have plenty of room in their circle for the fish. They also can jump at the other side of the screen, and some of them are less drivable but nothing like an event fish.
Golden Hint: The outer circle closing speed
The outer circle of all event fishes closes at a much slower speed than the normal fish types. It indicates the weight I believe, and if your event fish which is on the hook, has an outer circle that closes remarkably faster than the other event fishes, it is probably a bronze medal. If remarkably slower, most probably a golden medal.

Are you saying that I DON'T need to use my other coloured vouchers to catch event fish, I only need to use green vouchers/lures? Now I feel a bit silly because my lure maker has been going all morning using up lots of vouchers!! In my fishing book, the fish I haven't caught yet have the lures greyed out, and I only see green lures for 2 of the 6 kinds of event fish...well, 2.5 kinds of event fish since 2 fish have the (greyed out) green lure picture in large, and 1 fish has a (greyed out) green lure picture in small, with the large gold lure coming first under the fish...You can catch all event fish types with only green & blue lures. And I think you must not use purple or golden lures during fishing events. I never use purple and golden lures during events. The best way to approach the fishing event is to catch only the event fishes. If you are not interested to catch all event fish types, green lures are all you need. But some people use only red lures even on the fishing events, they might not finish all of the 5 goals but they have a stock of red lures prior to event. And they try to catch as many red lure event fish (Red Tailed Catfish) as possible.
I started using blue lures, as I finished all green lure event fish medals.
Anyone has any tips on distinguishing Lake Sturgeons, Nile Perchs and Giant Barbs? It seems Lake Sturgeons are relatively easier to catch, but I need to catch the other two types.
I have another tip for fishing.
The one that got away... If you follow the shadow of the fish right after a failed attempt to catch it (or also let go), the fish in the shadow jumps out of the water, and the fish type you see is truely the fish that was on the hook, which you lost or let go.

I want to catch a gold medal barb. Definitely going to make use of this tip. Thank you!Do you let the fast closing circle fishes away? I would suggest testing the theory. I will test too.
One way to test it is: You can count the seconds from start to half radius (half life). As event fishes are masters of escape, it is almost impossible to count the seconds from start to finish. Start of the outer circle to half radius can usually be observed.

About the speed of the outer circle and getting a bronze or gold reward...........that's new for me and I don't know if this is true.Anyone who can confirm this?
I am also still trying to prove it, and I'm not 100% certain about it.

Thanks for the help on circlesize but I m having real problems keeping the fish on the hook. Anyone got any tips for me? I am using 4 corners on the screen and try to keep the fish move in diagonals betwee opposite corners. It would give you the most space on your screen. You can try not to pull in the vertically opposite direction, more like in opposite direction with 45 degrees or so. Some people say short stroked but rapid pulls are more effective then long but slow pulls.

Yes, today I caught six lake sturgeons, one nile perch and one giant barb.My observation might be totally off-base, but the line on the giant barb actually felt smoother and less jerky. Like the fish didn't move so manically around.
Just caught one giant carb.
I try to keep the lure just a tad away from the fish and let them linger before they bite the lure. At the time of the bite, some fish jump to the place where lure is, some of them don't jump so they bite as if the lure was where they standed. The giant carb didn't jump to the lure at the last second.
But while lingering it made the darting motion, like a bee sting action. That motion should be familiar with worm fish Huchen.
I'll try to observe more carbs, sturgeons and nile perches.

I've seen the quillback jumping out of the water in other fishing areas. In general, if you see a fish jumping out of a lake area, does that mean it can be caught in those areas? When you first open the fishing area after a break, lets assume 2 hours, all fish jumping out of the ponds are generated randomly, I have seen black bullhead on the waterfall fishing spot, or quillback by the dock house. So the first ones after a break are generated without restriction to the fish that can be caught.
But after you cast 3 lures in a spot, those 3 jumping fish will be the ones that are given to you by the game (the last 3).
For example you can cast 3 green lures on each 12 spots and observe the jumping fishes on each spots to find which fish can be found on any spot. If there are statistical differences between each zone, it can be calculated this way. For example there are 3 blue lure event fish types. Sturgeon, Perch, Barb, you can check if any zone gives you statistically more barb than other zones. You need to cast lures in each zone until you spot an event fish, and check the jumping fish. You might want to cast two more lures if you get 2 event fish consequtively.
By the way before I had only sturgeon gold medal, most of the fish I got was sturgeons, now that I finally got nile perch gold medal, I seem to get those a lot more often.
If anybody has tips on determining barbs from others while using blue lures, or if they have a favourite spot for this I am all ears.
You can follow them one by one. In order to do that you can cast a lure wait for a fish to appear, let go the thread and follow that shadow. You can also do that if you lose the fight against the fish.
But for example if the last fish you have seen were an event fish for example. And you also get an event fish in your next try. If you follow the shadows, there will be 2 event fish shadows. If you don't know the first one, you can cast 2 more lures, (and check if they are not event fish) and follow the shadows. There is only 1 event fish in the shadows and you can see check it easier this way.
Or you can go power checking, cast a lure, make the first fish appear, then powerfully wiggle the thread and make second fish and then 3rd fish appear. You will have 3 new fish shadows at the spot and you can reveal 3 new shadows.
