Hi, Eturtle and ClassyCats I'm pleased about your purchases. I was reluctant this time because I'm waiting for some Halloween offer. However, I couldn't keep my fingers still and made again a new arrangement. This time my donkeys weren't affected, only my bees. I re-arranged the right side at the bottom of my farm and decorated in a new style including the Sushi Bar and the Deep Fryer. If you have time, take a look. The fields which surrounded previously my Sushi Bar are now at the place from my bees. Plus some fruit trees and the ditch. My donkeys are curious and examine the new area currently. The bees found their new place at the Jam Maker and the Juice Press.

Additional, I forgot to mention... As my re-arrangements increased the last time I decided to spend some diamonds for a 4th layout.

Eturtle I posted a pic of my goat in this thread justhayday.boards.net/thread/1380/new-deco-diamond-offer at the bottom. I will post it again here. I like him! I find myself watching my peacock go over and show off to him. Its hilarious. Like the goat is going to care 😆 I also bought the chicken artist. Don't have a pic right now but I put him by my chicken coops so that when he's looking back, he's actually looking at the chickens. It seemed appropriate. 😉 Where are your shows and tells?? 😁 View Attachment haha, too cute!

I tried out several ideas but nothing really stuck, so here is were I placed my school day decorations, simply next to the chickens with the know-it-all chicken-headmaster not having much success educating the eat-it-all-billy-goat

Additional, I forgot to mention... As my re-arrangements increased the last time I decided to spend some diamonds for a 4th layout. I have tried with the layouts but felt overwhelmed with my overstuffed farmland. To try to start from scratch is also overwhelming since I must add all the must-adds. so I gave up. Please do tell how you work with your different layouts

Dear Eturtle Sure I try to explain my MO. As I wrote, I have currently 4 layouts. For some time 3 layouts were sufficient but for several different themes an additional layout was necessary. Look at the screenshot. Layout number 1 is my "changing" layout. Before I take action I save the relevant layout. (This would be number 2, 3 or 4) After saving my farm I copy this layout in layout number 1, so that I'm able to start from the very layout I want to change. I prefer to make the changings in little steps and after a while I save it. Be aware that you can use two mode, the "Edit-Mode" and the "Play-Mode". The Edit-Mode is important if you want to store deco, machines, trees, bushes and so on. Furthermore the layout is a little bit "transparent", you can spot everything, also lost fields e. g. Now place the machines and the deco in a way you prefer. If you are satisfied, place all trees and bushes as well. Note, you can only switch from Edit-Mode in Play-Mode, if all machines, stables from the animals and trees and bushes are set. This is sometimes a little bit tricky, if you've stored many. The Play-Mode has an advantage over the Edit-Mode if you have to place many fences or path. The Play-Mode starts every time from the last item you used, the Edit-Mode doesn't. You start always from scratch and you have to scroll. That's a little bit inconvenient. Due to this I skip mostly to the Play-Mode and save my changes often. You have to try and to figure out what suits you most. If you have a lack of experience with the layouts and the different mode it's possible that it is a little bit odd the first time. But I promise you, do it and get used to it. Learning by doing. You loose nothing as the farm layout you want to change is saved in the first place. If you are not satisfied, skip to your original layout. Everything will be as it was.

Additional the second screenshot I took: As I said, layout number 1 is my "changing" layout. Number two is an obsolete layout I don't use any more, I want to use it for upcoming Halloween 🎃. Number 3 was my previous layout, this will be used for a winter theme, and number 4 with the white frame is my current layout. Don't be irritated from the red exclamation mark. It's a hint that you added some bushes or trees since your last changes. You can tap on that layout, but you can't activate it at once. The layout tells you that you have to add a tree or a bush before you can use it. The missing bush or tree is shown to you, add it, and afterwards you can activate the layout. There will be the white frame around it.

donkeyfan and Eturtle I have finally gotten a chance to play the game for more than 10 minutes these past couple days and have taken a gander at both your farms. I think they're both wonderful! For eturtle, 🎵"school days, school days. Dear old golden rule days..."🎶 Or maybe I'm the only one that knows that song? My mom used to sing those first couple lines once in a while way back when I was a youngster. I hated it! 😋 I think your school area looks great! And your chicken is getting to look at his models as well! I also want to say that I Love how your blue peacock sleeps on the golden road! So neat 😍 And maybe they all do, not sure, but I caught a glimpse of the blue one at least. Or is he called the green peacock maybe. I don't know! 🤷♀️ Donkeyfan, your donkeys seem to really enjoy the tomato and wheat area! When I was there they went right straight to it. It looks very nice and neat. As does your whole farm! All those separate areas on your farm designed, it seems, individually-- it's like each one of those would be a layout in the editing place. So instead of 4 layouts, you actually might have about 24! A lot more patience than I have that's for sure!! 😘 😻 👍 Inserting here a pic of my artist chicken. Okay, so the trees are a bit in his way, but I think he can see the gist of it! 😉

thanks donkeyfan for the detailed explanation, very kind of you to take the time to write it so detailed. I copied to my hayday folder and will re-read your instructions since I plan on trying again to use my layouts. I would like to have one for each season, this would shave off a lot of time for decorating.

ClassyCatsThank you very much for your compliments. I have definetely more time for all of this, no doubt. My current theme is "finished" for the time being. Halloween 🎃 and winter are themes I have to deal with when the time comes. I'm looking forward to it. I'll invite you to visit me when I'm finished.

Hooray donkeyfan! I can't wait! 🤓
I'm thinking that I should possibly consider at least a separate winter theme scheme. I love Christmas decorations!! Some I keep out on my farm year round. 🎄🎁🎄🎁

I am Blue Mitten 😸😸 Found your farm, I was looking for a 'cat' name so Blue Mitten did not jump at me you mentioned you like your Christmas decorations, you have a cute Christmas tree corner. I have some seasonal decorations all your round as well... I must say I deeply regret not buying the igloo, at the time I wanted to work on my willpower and staying strong. And I have only one Christmas bell, can't even remember seeing that one a second time around... I see so many cute decorations on your farm, the relaxing spot with the lounge chairs invite to watch the birds at the bird bath. Very cute! And I giggled seeing your haunted beach. made me think of Donkeyfan

Dear farmer, I'm wondering about myself. Although I love my animals and do everything for them the dogs are annoying the last time. Every now and than they run through my pretty Koi area. I put the "Rose Fence" in pink around the Kois, I left no gap, but the dogs don't mind. They run through the fences, sniffing and panting and showing no intention to leave this beautiful deco area. I dislike this behaviour very much. Meanwhile I'm really fed up and decided to act. I hid the second dog house in my Halloween 🎃 corner and put the cat house where the dog house was before. My dogs can sleep for the time being. Perhaps I consider later to wake them, but not in the moment.

Dear farmer, additional to my previous posting I want to let you know that I'm fine with my decision to let the dogs sleep. I'm feeling more comfortable as I don't miss them. Just the opposite. They are well hidden, that's how I like it. However, if someone needs advice how to hide unwanted houses from animals, feel free to ask me.

I prepped my farm today for the upcoming Halloween 🎃 theme. For that purpose I created some dead trees around my farm and I changed some path. I switched from "Pebble Road" to "Stone Road". Tomorrow I think I can't withstand any longer and will buy from Maggie the Halloween design.

For Eturtle.... Dear Eturtle, I forgot something to mention concerning the Edit-Mode. Sorry for the late explanation but I figured this out all of a sudden. You can plant path using the Edit-Mode, and you don't start from scratch in the archive by considering the following hint: If you are in Edit-Mode and you want to plant a great number of path take care of the paintbrush. It shows you the amount of the path you want to use and you can plant the path by drawing the paintbrush where you want to place the path. I tried this yesterday in my town because I intended to make a change. (From spring/summer- theme to Halloween). Working with the paintbrush is just fine and saves a lot of time.

Hello! It's been awhile but I just rearranged my farm layout, so I thought I'd post a few pics. Here's a small section. What a lovely Zen Garden! It looks so inviting to take a stroll to admire the plantings and then have a cup of tea with some rice balls :-) Great decorating!

Sorry to be dense, but how are people adding images. I tried searching for instructions, but couldnt find anything. Since we have used our allotted storage space for including "attachments" here on the forum, we now need to use a third party image hosting site to include an image in our posts. Here are some websites you can use: justhayday.boards.net/post/1441/threadThe site I use is postimages.org Go to postimages.org Tap "Choose Image" Select the image from your device and tap "Done" (in upper rt corner) Your image will upload and you will see various links when you scroll down. (You don't need to sign in or create an acct) Copy the link in the "Hotlink to forums" area. Paste that link in your post. (It will only show the link until the post is submitted, then will show the image).
